  3. Exactly. The show is supposed to be about the old school STYLE when tyt had no points to hit and just talking about random shit. It has nothing to do with how long a person has been with the network. Lol.

    Loved this episode of Old School. I like the usual team but it’s great when you mix up the panel. Jordan and Emma are really interesting and bring new perspectives. Watching them with Wes and Cenk was a lot of fun.

  5. It’s irritating that we can’t edit or delete comments. I realize that Old School is meant to recapture the feel of the early days, and is not absolutely dependent on the original crew’s attendance to fulfill its stated goal. I think it’s essential that the hosts know each other and are friends for this segment to work, and that’s why Jordan and Emma don’t fit on Old School just yet.

    Or maybe I’m pouting because I’m young and didn’t get the opportunity to experience the show in its earlier forms.

  6. I wholeheartedly agree. Jordan and Emma on Old School? Isn’t it meant to give current viewers a taste of what TYT was when it was Ben and Cenk speaking off the cuff? Several weeks ago, Ben was surprised to find that John (the best reporter on the flagship show, and at his best when he’s leading the segment and apart from Cenk) had been on Old School. Ana was just on for her first time, after almost ten years (!!!) with TYT. Are Jordan and Emma on here as propaganda for the journalism drive, or is Old School changing?

  10. On the politics side, I’m all TYT Politics (which is all on YouTube). Aggressive Progressive and Old School keep me a member at this point.

  14. I am a long time subscriber of TYT but I have been turned off by their coverage during the elections and the hyper progressive/leftist turn they have taken. I actively avoid watching shows with Jordan and Jimmy. I think I am still fairly liberal in my values but TYT seems to be pandering to a specific audience and they come off as unbearable. I hope Old School’s focus remains on the core crew.

    1. Pandering? This is a progressive network. Not a liberal network, and definitely not a moderate network. The whole point is to offer far left, progressive views.

  17. In reference to Bannon’s quote: us=those without conscience/empathy; they=the general population/sheep.

    I disagree with this definition of “strength.” Cenk is right to call it “false strength” because it’s just a show of insecurity and petulance in a position of power. Being self-serving * is not strong*! Anybody with any kind of discernment and awareness can see the “us” that Bannon talks about are self-serving.

  19. Finnish language is similar to Russian? Are you kidding me?

    Not only both languages are a world a part, you will be as fluent in Russian as Chekov was before achieving 6th grade level Finnish reading comprehension.

    1. Being Finnish myself, i can tell you, Emma is dead wrong on Finnish and Russian; Wes is dead right. Cenk and his father are too. the 2 languages (written, the alphabet, orally ie how they sound, and most especially their origins) are not IN THE LEAST BIT similar! they could not be farther apart! Russian is closer to Romance languages than to Finnish! Emma has obviously never heard the two languages spoken, because they sound SO different!!!

  20. I’m old ( a late boomer) and I loved the young bloods’ contributions to Old School – a hell of a lot more interesting than triceps and buttered toast. thanks Emma & Jordan :)

    I usually don’t watch to many episodes of Old School, but I had to see this one. I was looking forward all week to see her on the Main Show, but unfortunately that never happened.

    It was great to see a lot of Jordan throughout the week on the different shows (Main Show, Aggressive Progressives, Old School).

    Jordan, i grew up in North Massapequa — hey, neighbor! Long Island was the BEST: Jones & Tobay Beaches, et al., Takapausha Nature Preserve (still thriving), lots of interesting Indian (as in Native American) lore, great Italian food and obligatory Jewish food :-/
    i moved to Willingboro, NJ when i was 11. y’know who’s from there? the great Carl (& Carol) Lewis. their mom was my gym teacher. lovely lady.
    i’ve figured out Trump. have you seen his Trump Tower apartment? it’s obvious — he’s gilt-ridden.
    i really enjoyed this Old School episode. y’all had the gift of gab.

  26. This week on TYT as Cenk mentioned all the gang are in LA together at the studio MAY BE the usual panel are having a break and Chenk is letting us all see who he has hired with the money we have donated. Great idea I would say.
    As for the format and things that go wrong it would be an on going “Work in Progress ” to keep up or improve what is out there. If you have ideas how to fix the problem then offer them. But as 66 year old I would say TYT is using the latest technology to correct what is not working.
    Having no adds is one of the many thing I like about TYT.

  28. I think people are seriously misunderstanding that Old School refers to the style of the show and not the actual people on it. The show is meant to be like how it was in the radio days. This is still exactly that.

    1. Sometimes I read a comment that is just so true—and on something that *should* be obvious to people, but isn’t—that a “Totally agree” post just doesn’t convey how fervently I agree. But I guess it’ll have to do for now.

  29. I like old school because it allows me to bask in nostalgia. It was quite hampered by the presence of youth on the panel. Youth in both age and connection to TYT.

    An Old School Commentator rule should include:
    – no one less than 40 years old (wisdom, nostalgia, etc.)
    i) with exception for those associated with TYT for 5 years or greater.

  32. Ben had a terrific idea that turned into the networks best show and it’s called OLD school. It was and has been terrific for the most part until, like most things, it was unnecessarily rejiggered with. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Always remember your proverbs!

    1. What exactly was unnecessarily rejiggered? It’s like literally the same exact show as the very first one.

      1. The original premise of the show was Ben and Cenk discussing the old days. Working in Miami, creating TYT and their day to day observations and likes. Then it started adding guests who were clearly unfamiliar with the more laid back and less political nature of the show. It lost its je ne sais quoi. I bear no ill will towards the wonderful people who come on the show but they quite literally don’t belong on “Old” School.

  33. I haven’t even seen this yet but glad I checked the comments. Love that most are regarding the outrage of the non appearance of Ben despite his name listed. I always feel the need to go back and watch another episode that has Ben just so I get my fix of his hair.

  34. Lol at the touchy tyt fans, makes me wonder how long these folks have been watching…first off, tech glitches and little mistakes are a TYT tradition. Second, this week is all about the new reporters, so if they flip the format of old school for one week who gives a rats ass? Third, 10 to 2, bring it down a notch: its all about the informal “old school” conversational format that the show used to follow way back in the day. Farther back than you would find in the tyt archives anyway, so sit back and enjoy it for what it is. Side note, that bidet rule by Emma was straight up old school style. Love it, love her, nothing but love for TYT!

  37. Very upset that Jordan and Emma are on old school. Good episode but what’s the point if new folk get to join in. I always felt oldschool was listening in to the convo the old guys were having in the pub talking shit and ranting about sports. It’s lost it’s purpose now.

  38. I love Oldschool, but please- its oldschool. I want to see my oldschool crew because they are oldschool, literally. Cenk and especially Wes should be on every episode.
    i love emma and jordan, but I dont see them as Oldschool material. although I understand their incentive to push more for TYT politics… maybe aggressive progressives/main show/2nd hour is a better outlet to push that. just my humble opinion ;)

    1. Awful show and misleading summary. This is by far the worst Old School I’ve ever seen and can’t understand the rationale for including Jordan, who I thoroughly enjoy on TYT Politics, and Emma.

  39. My god, PLEASE fix the audio on this video! This is the WORST I’ve ever heard it and I’ve been going through the back catalogue watching every episode, main show hours, and post game through 2012. Also, Gigi, please fix the description and remove Ben’s name. People donlikedat when video descriptions are wrong. Please.. and thank you.

I think it’s more about the fact that some (I hope it’s a minuscule percentage ) young people are amazingly accomplished and put people like myself, a thirty year old still attempting to figure out what the fuck I’m going to do and how the hell I’m going to climb out of this hole of student loan debt, to shame. Not that she wasn’t great on OS; I absolutely love this episode. Goddamn overachievers.
