Ana talks relationship advice after such a short relationship with Christian…. 10 years at least. then you get to tell me how you make things work so well compared to other people.
Futhermore… Cenk rocks that t-shirt and sportsjacket. I said it. You shouldn’t criticize…
The daily video views chart – which appears to show a huge jump on Feb2, the last AP show if I recall correctly, followed by a steady decline in the following week – is particularly relevant and interesting.
While I share the impression that comments don’t receive significant attention from TYT, I draw some comfort that they must be paying serious attention to this data.
I was wondering what John was referring to when he said that the final story this hour would be one that dog lovers would not like, stating that the Trump administration is “coming for our puppies”.
It looks like they didn’t actually get to that story, and I didn’t hear it in the second hour either.
Is he referring to their removal of animal welfare inspection data from the USDA database, and/or the removal of regulations that limit puppy mills? Is there something else that we need to add to the list of how many protections for our most vulnerable people – and defenseless animals – this administration can strip in a day?
I’ve dated a woman who was a weaker person that agreed with everything I said. It WAS very boring because she had no opinions to offer (at least not to me).
I think it is actually good that Democrats have more seats to defend because we can primary them and replace them with stronger democrats who will actually fight.
You could raid the Italian parlaiment and use exactly the same arguments Sean Spicer was using, because everything he says is generic. Why dont the journalists ask specifics!!!??
Was the Fox Friends clip from a 1970’s show?
Is she an “anti-women’s libber” who thinks women need to stop trying to have it all, like Mary Tyler Moore!
Girls, behind every great man is a good woman!
Don’t forget to forgive your man for his grumpiness, he probably had a hard day at the office.
Fix that by being ready with a dry martini and his slippers when he walks in the door.
Don’t forget to have that dinner ready & hot on the table!
Don’t worry, the REAL problem with your man is just his sox! Forget about the sox! Ladies, pick up the sox. Your man is just a big silly boy at home, but out in the real world he is a caveman, bringing home the bacon.
@43:00 Ana, correction… Two American lives were lost that day. One soldier, and one 8 year old who was killed by accident, yes, but she was American citizen.
Whoa!? Ana is dead wrong about SCOTUS…. they denied Obama’s pick for an entire year and of all things to say you don’t want to fight and you should pick your battles ….. SCOTUS!?!?!?!?!?!??! That’s like the worst damage Trump could do and Gorsuch is not an insane pick but he is by no means an acceptable one. That pick will last for yearrrrrrrrs. If you don’t oppose Trump on SCOTUS then I don’t understand what you’re going to fight him on. Also, Jon is right; out of principle, they should deny anyone no matter what/who for a year and then they can go back to the table to discuss. Even if there is no way that the Dems can make an actual difference here they need to show strength.
The Dems are to blame for failure to fight a year ago. That failure was a strategic move — one of those three-dimensional-chess things everyone thinks Obama was such a genius at. Like so many other Obama strategies, it backfired.
They knew Hillary was hugely unpopular, even among Democratic voters. She had the highest unfavorables of any Dem candidate in modern history. They deliberately used media to pump up Trump, on the theory that he would be the easiest GOP candidate for Hillary to beat.
And, they deliberately did not fight for Garland, on the theory that having a vacant seat waiting to be filled on the Supreme Court would be the final guarantee that people would be so terrified of a President Trump, that they would hold their noses and beat down their gag reflexes, and vote for Hillary.
I’m tired of this “we need to pick our battles” mantra. That’s what Joe Scarborough advice to the Dems was on Morning Joe — those exact same words. Republicans don’t pick battles — they wake up in the morning creating battles.
Oops is right Deb-n-NCAL. And, I agree with Rushwebster — “Even if there is no way that the Dems can make an actual difference here they need to show strength.” I couldn’t agree more. Ana has one of the most conservative minds on the show (more than Shure) so I’ve come to expect this kind of commentary — we’re falling off a cliff and she’s still concerned about being “fair”.
I love John (incredible political analysis) and Ana (incredible social analysis), but Ana’s views on politics tends to flip flop on a daily basis. I was the same way when I was her age, so I understand, but it’s hard to listen to when you’re tuning in for serious progressive/liberal commentary.
Sadly, I agree. Ana has grown a lot in her job, but this hour was tough to watch. I know they had to cover for Cenk unexpectedly. But, Michael, Ben or Jimmy could have covered the political news far better.
The Fox News story would have been better placed in a second hour.
TYT’s rhetoric on Saudi Arabia is getting tired. A lot of opinions are put forth without any facts or nuance. The USA has been going after AQAP in Yemen long before Saudi Arabia got involved in the current civil war with the Houthi’s.
TYT hosts have consistently ignored the very large number of videos put out by the Yemeni rebels documenting attacks on Saudis and other forces, and while it is a war the criticism has been very one sided. TYT frames this as a purely religious war between Iran and Saudi Arabia, and there is no mention of the role of former dictator Ali Abdullah Saleh and the army units he controls, nor that the Saudi coalition is fighting on the behalf of the lawful transitional government in Yemen that was appointed to end protests that brought an end to Saleh’s rule (remember the Arab Spring?)
I understand that TYT does not have the international resources to cover a topic like this, but instead of acknowledging that they continue to offer opinions and analyses without a minimum amount of fact checking – something they love to criticize in others.
Yes, I think it’s more a case of a lack of knowledge and resources to fully understand the nuance of the Yemeni situation; which is of course quite complex. While it has largely devolved into a proxy Saudi-Iran conflict, are were and continue to be multiple diverging threads. It’s hard for TYT is know everything about everything, especially foreign civil conflicts that have decides-long histories.
And yes, AQAP has long waged a campaign against the US (going back to at least the bombing fo the USS Cole in October 2000), and therefore are a legitimate military target. The problem with this particular raid was that it was ill-planned and rushed into execution.
That lady on Fox reminded my of Phylis Schafly back in the early ’70s. She said, “Most women would rather cuddle a baby than a typewriter or factory machine. Most women find that it is easier to get along with a husband than a foreman or office manager. Offices and factories require many more menial and repetitious chores than washing dishes and ironing shirts.”
So I’m not married, BUT I have been with my common-law husband for 18 years. We have 3 kids. I hung on one point she made… Before I had my own kids I liked that my husband needed to be taken care of. That he needed me to be there for him. But after the kids, it kinda gets annoying LOL I guess I have my mother in law to blame for that one. She was referring to the fact that after there are kids in a relationship, the wife takes charge more and I see that in my relationship. I run the ship, I’m the boss. But my husband is NOT a Alpha male so it still works for us I guess. And although I am a A -type personality I don’t tend to nag. But I agree with Ana, there is no 2 same ways to be in a relationship. So screw the advice and just live your life…
My Google News feed usually has headings like “US”, “World”, etc. you know what I’m talking about. Today I kid you not one of the sections was titled “Executive Orders”.
when his audience applauds him, they’re feeding Trump the only food he wants. it would be so easy for a bunch of principled people to withhold their sanction from this raging narcissist. we should all play the part of the young child to the naked emperor, point our fingers, and say “Look, ma, no clothes!”
Pence and Spicer are nothing but lackeys. in fact, my fave pet name for Pence IS “Lackey” — when he is obligated to come to the defense of his Master’s word salads, his lips grow ever tighter. Judge Gorsuch needs to assert himself a bit more, to avoid being lackefied. otherwise, Trump will use and abuse him. truly, i am embarrassed when i hear applause or cheering in response to anything the Grifter-in-Chief says. even “Hello” — yes, he had me at “Hello” :-/

Calm down Ana,
on the segment about women, it’s Fox News!

Hi all… Further to the extensive commentary over this past week on panel composition, I came across the following viewership data for TYT:
https://vidstatsx.com/theyoungturks/youtube-channel
The daily video views chart – which appears to show a huge jump on Feb2, the last AP show if I recall correctly, followed by a steady decline in the following week – is particularly relevant and interesting.

Will circulate a refresh in the coming few days.
Stay well.

venka…. is an “alpha” but doesn’t understand the difference between parallel and series circuits… yet uses them as a metaphor….
Insert Comment Here.
I think it’s pretty obvious, these new orders are for going after the legal cannabis industry.
I think it is actually good that Democrats have more seats to defend because we can primary them and replace them with stronger democrats who will actually fight.

Friggin awesome. All of it <3 <3
Doesn’t the way Trump signs the executive orders kind of remind you of president Schwarzenegger from the Simpsons movie?
Ana is not a little dictator. However Trump might be called a little dick tater.
Was the Fox Friends clip from a 1970’s show?

I’m sorry, but all I can see when I watch Spicer is Melissa McCarthy jacking that podium around and growling and pointing with her TinyHands.
This whole administration looks like a Fox failed sitcom pilot without the laugh track.
Stuck in New York because of snow. Check YouTube, he posted a couple of videos.

Miss you Cenk.

Hahahah! YES, Ana! The first thing I thought when I saw that Fox & Friends video was… why does she have that hair cut then?!
That lady on Fox reminded my of Phylis Schafly back in the early ’70s. She said, “Most women would rather cuddle a baby than a typewriter or factory machine. How, 45 years later, are we still here?
Haha, I just watched the post game, and I guess Suzanne Venker is Phylis Schafly’s niece, so… there you go.
Where is Cenk?
I love Ana, she’s such a firecracker. Keep up the heated responses, nobody does it better, except for possibly Jimmy D.

Tears of joy when I came home and this was already uploaded. Keep it up TYT.
