  1. The tragedy of the commons is when a common good is exploited because it doesn’t cost an individual to use it. An example would be the air, we all have equal access to the air and if polluting the air can make someone money the air will be polluted by anyone who wants to make a profit.

It also applies to things like tornado warnings, it has a common benefit for everyone but an individual has no need to fund it if their neighbor is willing to. Hence it is likely the common good could not be funded this way. This is why taxes are not voluntary.

I agree with the statement at the end about riot police and litter but it is not the same as the tragedy of the commons situation. It’s just a positive feedback loop.

  2. Michael is a god-damn zombie! Clinton was a victim of focusing too much on policy? What the fuck does he think Bernie focused on, which made him the most popular candidate? Policy, for hours every speech.

    1. Preach it, we all think that. Michael is a lone voice in TYT world on this point. He is in love with the Democratic party.

  3. Michael she was in a popularity contest and didnt tell ppl voting in that popularity contest, her POPULAR ideas. Not a word about the min wage. Not a word about her college debt plan. Not a word about how trump is actually a FAKE populist. Not a word about the supreme court. NOTHING. Other than showing clips of Trump saying off color things and if you watch those ads, even some of the clips of him they chose to use were ones where a tiny bit of his bizarre charisma leaked out. They couldnt even pick the fucking clips right. WORST campaign i have ever seen. These Democratic strategists are the dumbest people on the planet. Chuck Schumer should be ashamed to show his face let alone give a damn speech on inaug. day. He’s the one that thought it was a good idea to chase the ghost that is the moderate republican, and try to get them to vote for the 1 democrat they’ve spent the last 30 years hating. It’s just pathetic.

  4. 1. Cenk continues to feel sorry about Hillary, what is bad : https://tytnetwork.com/2017/01/20/watchers-on-the-wall-inauguration-hour-2/#comment-128802 (agree with Ana on this: nothing to feel sorry about).

    2. I completely support Michael and Benjamin pushing pro-establishment points, if they are contested (and vise versa). I only have issue when they are both on the panel simultaneously and TYT starts to sound as establishment media, not an alternative media outlet.

    3. Cenk saying that Trump’s talk about bad shame of the jobs is “empirically untrue”, but he is not right and contradicts himself right afterwards. The quality of jobs has dramatically decreased under Obama. About 99% of all recovery got to 1%. The majority of jobs that were regained/created are starvation jobs: you have to take two or three of them at a time to survive. Cenk playing into establishment game on this harms the chances to win against Trump in 2020.

    4. Saying that Bennon wrote the speech on the basis of rusted belt/jobs issue makes no sense since Trump was about those issues long before Bennon joined his team. Bennon may have (co-)wrote the speech, but not because of this.

    5. Cenk mentions Trump (childish and tasteless) insults of parents of a fallen soldier as one of Trump’s wrongdoings, but in reality they attacked him first. and they are not heroes, they are regular people (their son was awarded, not them). This is why many in the military support Trump: they do not see this case as an insult towards them at all. They are not angry even about Trump’s comments against MacCain since they, for example, as Tulsi Gabbard, hate war mongering neocon maniacs who are responsible for deaths of countless of soldiers, as well as for supporting terrorism and neo-Nazism as tools of regime change (MacCain, along with StateDep, is famous for supporting the worst kinds of forces in Libya, Syria, Ukraine).

  5. I don’t agree with Michael, but I like having him on the show. Diversity of opinion. If you listen to people you agree with all the time, how will you ever challenge your own world views? How could you ever be comfortable with your stance, unless you have someone giving an alternate opinion and challenging you? That’s how good ideas are refined.

Bernie didn’t get such strong arguments and stances without listening to everyone.

I’d be interested in TYT having a conservative on the show sometimes. Its easy to talk down to a conservative viewpoint when you’re judging replays to a friendly audience and they cannot retaliate.

  6. fellow libs, you have to understand many people think like micheal shore. he likes hillary, so did millions. but he would have voted for the democrat in any election. he gives the establishment opinion on the show while someone like Jimmy Dore is more Lefty. we may not always agree with one another on how left we should go, but we will need each others support especially in these next 4 years

  7. I don’t hate Michael, but it’s really disturbing to see out of touch he is with the mood of the country and what this election cycle was about. It actually kind of reminds me of the establishment Democrats and how they just still don’t get it even after all that has happened. What I’m deeply afraid of is they will continue to keep their head in the sand as well and we’ll have no organized political party to not only fight Trump but simply to represent the people at all.

  8. Michael Shure’s insights on the 2016 election. Like….what? Especially in the previous hour when he said he completely supported Hillary Clinton in the primaries. I see why people don’t like him.

  9. Micheal Shore is a perfect example of milktoast, weak, tonedeaf establishment and why we lost and why we will lose again if people like him have a forum. He needs to fuck off.

    1. that seems like a poor strategy. He should be on more so that his view point can be argued with if you think he’s incorrect.
