Cenk, you and I are in stark contrast over Persian food. Koobideh kabab is good, but fasenjoon is one of the greatest foods of all time. Gormeh sabzi is very good and so is geymeh, and so are all of the rice dishes (polo and chelo). Don’t get me wrong, because Greek/Turkish cuisine is excellent. Both of you are wrong about Indian food though, it’s pretty much my favorite. They make it mild, just like Thai food. My top five have to be, in no apparent order:
1.) US
2.) Indian
3.) Persian
4.) Greek/Turkish
5.) Japanese
Italian is okay, but it’s nowhere near as good as you guys think it is. Spanish is better than Italian, definitely. My favorite foods span the old Islamic empires (Greece/Turkey to India). Jewish deli good, Thai, Chinese, Ethiopian, Mexican, French, Spanish, and Lebanese all deserve honorable mentions, because they’re pretty great. I haven’t had Brazilian food yet, but it sounds good. The US cuisine I’m thinking of is definitely more of the Southern US cuisine, especially Cajun/Creole.
Mexican here. Well I was born here in the U.S. but you get what I’m saying. And what I’m saying is that Mexican food in the U.S. falls under the “American” cuisine category. Like Pizza, Americans took it and made it better. My mom is from Mexico and never had a flour tortilla till she came here – they only ate corn. In America someone thought about making it with flour. Less healthier? Maybe. But in my mind… Best idea ever!
I love Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Thai, Indian, and Ethiopian and French. Well, I have not really had Greek ot Turkish. I have only had Greek salads and baklava. I grew up around Mexican being half Hispanic. I am vegetarian. I too don’t like beans either except if they are in soups or black bean burgers. I did recently try some vegan charro pinto beans of which I enjoyed. So, being vegetarian I only ever ate cheese nachos and quesodillas that I can’t say that I liked Mexican food.l either.
re: top five cuisine — it’s probably harder to find lousy food than good food. Hawaii is Spam country, i hear, and poi. not too much going on there. Aborigines love their witchetty grubs. Chinese will eat anything that moves, and a lot that doesn’t. but i can’t include Chinese food in the not-so-hot category, because it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World. also really good but not mentioned are the cuisines of the Middle East and Africa. Lebanon has this incredible mayo-like spread called Toum that’s made with oil and tons of garlic, and that’s it. what could be bad about that? Morocco gives us preserved lemons, and that’s no little thing; they are an amazing invention. Scandinavia? i plead ignorance, but if i want raw fish, i order sushi. and now that i’m about to click “Submit,” i think of Vietnamese food, and my mouth waters — it’s the bomb. and then there’s Southern U.S., a country unto itself, with an unbelievable food culture, god DAMN!
Not sure about the mysogyny biz. Some women could get away with having a family like Trump’s. Kim Davis and Sarah Palin–to name two examples–have odd families yet weren’t held back.
actually, some people who are blind because of an accident still can see, the brain just doesn`t register the picture. They still know to avoid obsticles, they just can`t visualize them, but the information from the eye nerves still get processed
Hillary was supposed to win. Cenk is right. I just couldn’t vote for her. She reminds me of my Grandmother. But I’m gay and Hillary is old fashioned. Bernie is my role model. Trump just excites and fears people. Sports gambling is easy. I didn’t predict a single Vikings game wrong last season. Just don’t bet on playoff games.
incompetence dejour, please get a person on the payroll that can post episodes on time, or at least the right episodes. (outsourcing might be the answer here)
The uploading process failures have nothing to do with technical difficulties and everything to do with rampant incompetence. Maybe it would do Cenk good to actually put some fear of repercussion into his staff and maybe we wouldn’t have constant fuck ups.

Q. Why will you never starve in the desert?
A. Because of all the sandwhichis there.

For some reason I got personally offended when Cenk bumped Japanese off the list.
Good episode.
“cuisine”… Ben says it the french way. Cenk is just saying it totally wrong. ~ A french girl
great show! happy holidays
( a couple opinions, not much to see here…..)
A good sandwich is a spiritual experience – and Indian can be too, if you have the spicy gene.
The idiot-elect is the distraction/misdirection of a magic trick, not the magician himself.
Thank you
