On this Friday postgame, Malcolm Fleschner talked to TYT staff members Jen Rufer (aka “Rufer Madness”) and Brandon Rey Ramirez (aka “Fidel Cashflow”) to get the inside scoop about what it’s REALLY like to work at TYT. How do people respond when they find out you work at TYT? What was the atmosphere at TYT after Election Day? Is TYT a millennial-friendly workplace? What are the best and worst part of your jobs? – don’t miss their answers to these questions! They also play Totally True or Totally Bullshit to discuss the best way for progressives to talk to right wingers to turn them against Donald Trump. All this and a Niger Delta Avengers update, tips for shopping at InfoWars.com and much much more!

I’m an editorial assistant and have put together magazines in school. I only have my generals completed, however, I have a lifetime of experience and hours of time spent talking about writing with my professors.
I look forward to seeing Brandon on here more and more.
As to the TTOTB I have to say Total Bullshit. I could go into a long diatribe as to why I feel that way but it really boils down to: when you compromise your message or obfuscate it under half truths or falsehoods, you are no longer genuine, no longer honest and by virtue of your actions, no longer in the right. I think the whole of the american political process is gummed up with the actions of Minitruth. Telling the “right” lie is not the way to get the working class back on our side nor the way to right the wrongs the last elections wrought on us.
Just my opinion.
The Young Turks should start a newspaper for the internet. I would love to help and or write for you guys. You can sell ads for Newspapers. You can sell it as a subscription too. “Everybody makes mistakes, everone has those days.” – Miley Cyrus. Waterworld is freaking awesome. “Info Wars,” more like “Bimbo Wars.” No offense. Or “Dildo Wars.” Jesse Ventura is probably the reason the bar is set at 15%… Bush prevented every other 9/11 by founding the NSA. If you don’t have anything to hide; why does it matter if people are listening? Trump met with Al Gore and Gore said he was completely open to listening. He is a comman man rich President. Bush 3.0; Nixon did good things. He was terrified of the American people. Donald wants to be the best President in history. He is honest. He just contradicts himself every other sentence. My minister was a republican delegate who knows Ted Cruz personally. Republicans want the United States to be energy independent. I just support the Green New Deal over oil. Just do your journalistic duties. Thats how you cover Frumpy. Ben, the train is going off the tracks, Carson. A train derailed 10 miles from my home town, within a week of me hearing him say that.
If they did an online magazine I’d jump on board instantly.
The news should Alec Baldwin Trump so he spends all his time getting pissed and tweeting about it. Then he’ll be distracted from enacting terrible policies.
Hey Awesome and Handsome as always Malcolm Fleishner
Right after the elections Cenk in a show referred to an upcoming interview on The Young Turks with Senator Sanders. What happened?
I was disappointed to watch Senator Sanders on Democracy Now , both in spirit and in substance.
Here is why
Senator Sanders said the post hes been given is keep getting these “grassroots money” And Senator Sanders truly beleives these money would keep coming. He says he task will be that party fundraising needs to include “not only” big corporate donors, “but also” grassroots activists contributions. R e a l l y ? He thunks that proping Sanders will continue contributions from the grass roots? Is that your benefit from it? That’s what you came up with?
To Bernie to be pushing that agenda or narrative or whatever is discouraging, as was his not appearing on The Young Turks again post election interview
I hope you guys think of a strategy to hold HIS feet to the fire, because he is essentially betraying his base with his latest actions and public talk.
To the Great Malcolm : it would be nice to share how the Sanders interview ar TYT situation went down, thanks J
J,
I don’t know who this other “awesome and handsome” Malcolm you refer to is, so I guess I’ll just try to answer your question myself. Except that I don’t actually know the answer. I remember hearing that a Bernie interview was in the offing, but then hearing that it was NOT happening after all. I don’t typically handle the bigger-name interview subjects (Bernie included), so I have no particular insight into what happened. I know he has a book coming out and will likely do press to promote it, so there’s still hope. I also didn’t see his interview on DN, so I can’t comment on that either. The statements he’s made since the election that I’ve seen focused on remaking the Democratic Party to work for everyday Americans and not just bankers and other elites. If he’s spouting a different line now, that would certainly be disappointing.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more use. Maybe I would do better with a question about the Niger Delta Avengers?
Malcolm
All about that Sound of Music reference ;)
Hell yeah I saw Lee Camp! Had no idea who he is but he’s a cutie… um, I mean, he was very smart and a great addition to the power panel (seriously) :)
This got me thinking of how I found the TYT Nation. I was working 3 jobs at 19 years old in 2014, and one morning at like 3 am I was getting baked after work and about to go to sleep, and a clip showed up in my feed after discovering the Philip DeFranco show. I was skeptical at first, assuming it was a new blaze like outfit that seemed to be coming out of the woodwork that year.
Much to my surprise, Cenk Uygur ripped out the gate tearing apart governor Scott walker on his anti-union crusade. I’ve been a citizen ever since.
Bless! You’re a youngin’ :) It’s so awesome to see young folks like you discovering TYT and putting an ear to the ground when it comes to politics. I was frickin oblivious when I was your age; pretty sure I voted for friggin Ralph Nader. I was really clueless about how elections worked. My parents were conservatives and raised me to be suspicious of Clinton (and hence Gore), and Bush seemed like a total moron. I’m so disappointed in myself.
Me, I found TYT sometime around the end of 2006. The 08 election was gearing up, and though I remembered Senator Obama’s speech at the 2004 DNC I was still too ignorant and too anti-establishment to vote for someone so “mainstream.” I was enamored of some random Alaskan former governor who was running; he was this really old guy who didn’t have a chance, but again, I didn’t quite get that and was still bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when it came to elections. I was watching a video of him on YouTube and, like most people, came across a Young Turks video by accident. This was before Ana was on the show, I think. Man I was really blown away by this guy Cenk; his passion was contagious and MOST IMPORTANTLY he actually helped me to understand the nuances of politics – something no one else had ever been able to do. I became a member during the election, though that didn’t last long b/c I was a poor grad student at the time. Now that I’m working full time and can afford it I’m back to being a member… and it feels so damn good.
Vice, as well as Vox, are pro-war, pro-regime change neocon/neolib propaganda tools of the oligarchy that in the end always root for the establishment, despite seemingly “progressive” matters they some times cover; there is nothing truly “edgy” about them. So yes, it is much easier for them to get advertisers.
Malcolm, your judgment on TTOTB is Totally Bullshit. There is no reason why progressives should pretend anything when we have evidence on our side. See the Fernando1958 –> LOTUS-CTB –> Studezilla comment thread: https://tytnetwork.com/2016/12/01/tyt-hour-1-dec-1-2016/. Learn what is important to Trump supporters, address it with evidence and treat them with respect regardless of how stupid and racist you think they are. The premise for the question is absurd anyway. After four years of Trump, assuming no Armageddons of any sort, there will be enough 2016-Trump-voters to voluntarily remove their support to make it impossible for him to lose his way into another term! The Republican rampage to the cliff of neo-liberal policy goals will demonstrate the bankruptcy of their suicidal ideology. Of course, we cannot sit back and do nothing, otherwise another neo-lib will pick-up the pieces and build a new Frankenstein’s Monster in Paul Ryan’s image. Ironically, it will be the Standing Rock Sioux and their peaceful protest for justice that will light our way for the defeat of the neo-lib monster!
The blatant neo-nazis are an exception among Trump supporters, in that they shouldn’t be engaged with at all, only opposed (and they’re a minority) but yes, engage the rest of them on their economic anxieties and their anti-establishmentarianism. A “rightwing populist” is someone who got it HALF right (the ‘populist’ half of the equation), they can be converted to a different kind of populist.
So glad that I Finally became an official Member !!!!
The Future Is Now, &a The Battle Has Only Just Begun !!
Thank You Cenk & The entire TYT Staff !
Sincerely,
Ketch
This calls of course for celebration
Glad I have a GIF for the occasion

That one implies that TYT is a cult. You’re a paying member, but you would welcome new members with a message that denigrates TYT in such a silly way?
This is somewhat concerning. Are there any other contradictory and/or self-harming aspects in your life that we should know about?
I’m only ribbing ya for sport, buddy. Pushed the “submit” button too soon to add that part. (god I want that edit button back).
The truth is that we are all cultists here. Misterfixit is just one of the few who is still in the Cult of the Center. :)

LMAO I was kidding too buddy. Just reminded me of that Simpsons joke. I’m a big TYT fan. Peace!
you won’t regret it. Is nice to be supporting the right people. check the Interviews (they are longer than 4 minutes :) )
Mr. Ramirez (sp?) I can’t believe you are so happy about being “right” on the Trump electoral college victory. Lose your freakin ego man.
so happy to have brandon back on the postgame! we need to get him on the MAIN SHOW too. ASAP.
and welcome jen! it’s good to meet you!
Agree, they were both great :)
It was just a bit of levity man. Take deep breaths.
Whoops. Wrong comment.
what’s with the huge finger/phallic symbol?
Jen is great.
