  1. I love you guys but seriously – “pussy grabbing” is not something that only effects an individual. Rape culture is real and your comments are completely dismissive of the fact that women are seen as sexual objects and are brutalized, even trafficked, because of it AND NO ONE CARES. You just reinforced this by brushing aside this disturbing comment and the fact that Trump is a pedophile rapist. We should be talking about war with Russia, yes, absolutely, but we also should be talking about why women can be raped on film and people still think nothing happened to them…Maybe in part because respected men like you think pussy grabbing is NBD?

  2. Wow an awesome show that day Jimmy, Steve! Jimmy IS getting better on the show. I didn’t watch it on Election night and only caught up on it today.

Keep showing us the facts, keep waking people to the facts, we need you!

  3. Don’t get me wrong I love Cenk! my membership doesn’t go half as far back as I’ve watched TYT, in the early days i drifted in and out, mind you I stay away from instagram, twitter and facebook i’ve dabbled with them off an on but i’m an once in a while tech savvy 36 yer old, so much outer cusp of the millennials, I’m the gen X who wistfully yearns for a time when you were not surrounded 24 news, and fameotainment and the Whorish worship of money and fame. But WOW …Just wow I love Gigi, and Irma! Gorgeous as hell and cute as fuck….. I love their take on the elections’ results! Their post games are fucking awesome, as a straight male their take on this shit make me laugh my ass of AND think! But Shiiiiat Jimmy You’re half the reason I watch TYT! I watch every Drop it friday Power panel show with my fingers crossed, better have jimmy on, PLEASE have Jimmy on! So NOW I get JIMMY AND STEVE OH on Aggressive Progressives….. WTF?

To be Honest I took a some time away from TYT AND most Political shit for a few months this past election cycle. I used to watch The Majority Report, and TYT on a daily basis, but a time came when I needed a break, life gets in the way and shit happens, but now i have way more free time.

Low, and behold Cenk had promised more content for the members. So, my reintroduction ensues with MORE JIMMY DORE and A STEVE OH segment that focuses on progressive issues!?!?! Whahahahahaha Fuck yeah! ALWAYs Loved Jimmy he’s THA MAN! KEp at it Jimmy, I suckeled at the tit Of George carlin for years (THANK GOD FOR HBO) and you are deff walking in his path!

Plus, I loved the friday post games with Malcolm, Steve, and Dave! They did A GREAT Job! HAhA Shit, I even loved watching Dave try to keep it together when it was just him alone on a friday post game! And he owned it every time, I was just upset when he ran the shows short, fucked it Dave Open up that Newspaper And read me some shit, there’ a story under every rock!

Here in Lies A Digression: Also I love Wes Clark, I know his focus is on the Environment, though having had short stint chats with him on Twitter I know his knowledge and love of sci fi; and so, thanks to his great Book DREAD NOT, among his friggin’ awesome book recommendations have lead me indirectly and directly to many Other great reads I other wise would have neglected.

So yeah, Wes Clark. I just want to push for a segment beyond Old School, that is scholarly based wherein the sfi fi is tied in with the functions/Dysfunctions of our current system…You know…A Wes Clark based Show pertaining to the future, books, the environment, and a quasi sci fi/ realistic vision of how all this climate change is effecting sci fi genre literature, and where the future meets the present practical fixtures we can implement NOW……or something such there of…just a suggestion…

And,.. to get back to an Earlier point… I think Dave, Steve Oh, And Malcolm Are awesome and should be folded into shows into their own right; Like Steve Oh in A.P. …Yeah; Malcolm and Dave host once in a while but but may a weekly Show of their own devise would be Great!

Then, use the open friday post games as you HAVE been doing to keep pushing the behind the scenes and lesser knowns. I particularly, AND quite thoroughly enjoyed the nov. 11th post game show! Loved ALL three women, rarw..blable blable, rar, rar, rawr!!

Yeah people bitched, as they will ALWAYS do, and the loudest voices are the ones that get posted! ……BUUUTTTTT
I love GiGi, maybe because she was a bit shy at first, but WTF……if People don’t see it yet I think she’ll have a STRONG on air presence! Sure the first time I saw her on air was the election night coverage but, hell yeah! She got a Voice! She has A strong position she stands behind and she owns It! Trust ME GiGi fuck the comment section, do NOt look to us for positive feed back! Just Ask Cenk, Anna, Michele Shore,….. Yeh Shore ya Hillary Puppets You/!…see?!

And Irma, Omg IRMA! I am as in LOVe with Irma as I am with GIGI! Don’t listen to any bs from the comments PLease, You are RIGHT oN TARGET! TYO are Hot! You ARe on Topic! And you Speak Your mind! Your personality resonates! Its fucking lovable, I enjoy your laugh as much as your scathing evisceration of Trump! You Did a great job on the nov 11 post Game, You made Your points, you got your emotions across, and ya blessed us ALl with that cat pretty pretty bull shit at the end. Which I loved BtW!

    ANY WAY ,…

    THANKS STEVE, JIMMY
    AND THE WHOLE TYT FAMILY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ll BRB I gotta go piss on a trump Star………

  4. My heart sank once I noticed the new show hasn’t been posted yet. I know y’all are busy, but today has just become similar to a day without coffee :( Will check back later in the day

  5. I have been waiting, SO excited for the post-election AP… please post it soon!

I live in an area with limited broadband and cannot watch TYT livestream, so must rely upon the morning-after upload. Please please please — I need my “Jimmy Dore & Steve Oh Unchained” AP fix…!

  6. The free version of this episode discussing Syria, Iran, and Russia made me become a member. Aggressive progressives ????????????????????
    ????????

  7. I just joined TYT last night after watching your live coverage of the election. I don’t watch TV at all, I don’t even own one, and so a lot of my news comes from the internet. Even so, I have never heard anything even close to what I just heard in this video—thank you all so much for sharing the actual news! I am completely dumbfounded. I hope more media outlets will follow by your example. Without truth, people are clinging desperately to things like Trump :/

  8. it would be great if you guys could put the sources on the article you quote. I’m trying to find the NATO article to read it but I can’t .

  9. By the way guys. Anti-Americanism isn’t rife only in countries in the Middle East. It’s throughout the world, including in the ordinary people of countries allied with the US. The US is considered the number one threat to world peace all over the world.

  10. People are aware of the NATO build up on Russia’s border with Poland, but they’ve been fed a steady diet of Putin=evil dictator; Russia=bad for so long now they think it’s just another game of good guys/bad guys. Putin’s the bad guy so Russia deserves everything it gets.

The fact that this is an existential threat to all of us doesn’t get through to the people, neither does the fact that Russia isn’t the aggressor.

  11. Preach Jimmy & Steve! Love this show.

One thing, Pence IS a smart version of Trump. My biggest fear is that something will “happen” to Trump and Pence will be made President.

    1. Pence is no Cheney. Pence has only been a congressman and a governor. Compare this to the evil genius Cheney, who started out his much longer career as a staffer for Rumsfeld in the Nixon (!) administration and later worked for Reagan.

  12. Thank you guys again. Great show, great information. I have seen that piece by Robert Kennedy Jr. I’ll have to go back to it and re-read it. Thank you to Jimmy and Steve and all the crew. You all are fabulous! So happy to be a member of TYT.

  13. Julian Assange said Trump will not be permitted to win the election, he also called him the white trash candidate lol. I’m going to sound crazy, but after reading the leaked emails of Pedesta to Obama from October 2008 I have come to the conclusion that America doesn’t really have a real election, Obama knew he was going to be President and Pedesta warned him that the things he was doing (Obama) were something that was usually done later after the election. In a time when the first Black President was about to be elected after the Iraq war and America had lost it’s stance in the World following the crash, Obama was way to easy going in the emails and was planning ahead of time and doing interviews with people he would put on his economic council two months before the election. I can now get why Assange would say that Trump will not be “permitted” to win, because all the choices are fake just like China and Russia it seems the price you pay for being the soul Super Power is your democracy.

  14. I really liked that show, thanks guys. Though you have conflicted me, I am a huge Cenk fan and he convinced me that everyone should just vote Hillary, but I have to agree with Jimmy Dore the horrible corporate behavior will just have a better mask and if it takes trumps ineptitude and fascism to hurt everyone to where we all rise up. Then that’s what it takes buckle up tough times ahead.
It is shows like yours that will help to truthfully inform the people and change the world.

  15. The amount of nonsense is so unbelievable I just don’t know where to start but here is a start:

1- The mullahs were the ones who began the coup months before the US intervention (lead by by Ayatollah Kashani and supported by a then relatively unknown Ayatollah Khomeini) on Mosaddegh because he was a staunch secularist dictator (his party only had 8 seats in parliament out of 136 in the first cabinet and 30 seats in the 2nd cabinet) who usurped constitutional powers to impose illegal laws by decree using the emergency act imposed undemocratically by the shah despite opposition by parliament. The Americans and Brits simply made the trickle into a flood:
    http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/foreign-policy/270975-bernie-sanders-dr-mossadegh-and-us-foreign-policy

2- The pipeline nonsense is just that, nonsense. There were already 2 operating pipelines going through Syria and the massive gas field off the coast of Syria that would render any gas pipeline useless. Turkey is already a hub for 3 more gas pipelines 2 come from Russia and they signed on it. Saudi Arabia does not have enough gas to export and already has a port facilities on the Red Sea that renders any oil pipeline outside Saudi Arabia uneconomical not to mention a possible deal with Qatar to provide Saudi Arabia with gas while Qatar exports its gas directly from the ready Saudi ports. The war in Syria has a clear timeline and it began with demonstrations against the Russian/Iranian backed Syrian dictator, read it, hell ask anyone of the 12000 Syrians resettled in the US about the war and about Assad.

3- If the US wanted to take down Assad they could have easily done it, as easy as taking down Qaddafi. Part of the Iranian Nuclear deal is to give Iran a free hand in Syria something Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, both host 5 million Syrians between them, do not want because neither Iran nor Russia will resettled Syrian refugees or give aid to them.

    1. Have to admit, I was sceptical about the pipeline theory too. Pipeline-based Conflict Theories always seem way too simplistic and reductionist, almost never stand up to scrutiny.

  16. I would *love* to know how the view statistics compare on this show vs other TYT segments. Curious to see how well hardline far left views sell.

    1. Statistics would not tell us much. Viewing figures are determined by lots of different factors. It’s not all about ideology, Jill vs Hill, etc.

The main show gets by far the most viewers simply because it’s the main show. It’s been around for a decade, it has three million subscribers, it’s the thing that TYT leads with, period. All very obvious, and nothing that any other TYT show could ever affect.

For the purpose of such comparisons, which other show would have to play the part of AP’s real “opposite number”, its genuine ideological rival? Ideologically speaking, I guess that this rival show would be “The Michael and Ben Funtime Politics Hour”, except that such a show does not exist, so there is nothing to compare.

  17. The Pipeline – if Obama has a conscience – and I think he does – this is killing him. But his hands are tied. His donors, the surveillance state, and possibly his safety & future prosperity are factors in him playing this card.

That may well be true for any president who is smart enough to understand the consequences of going against the power brokers.

  18. I watch each episode of “Aggressive Progressives” MULTIPLE times until the newest ep is released. It is by far my favorite show on TYT, and I so wish it were a DAILY show. Jimmy Dore and Steve Oh are my favorite TYT hosts and have incredible integrity and insight. I thank them for all they teach the listeners and for being TRUE progressives.

    1. This would be a good idea, if the show were not members-only. Platforms like Youtube and Facebook are really tools for reaching out to non-members (besides generating ad revenue, obviously). There isn’t much point in drawing non-members to a Facebook page which then can give them only a few tiny clips (if that), not the whole show. Most of them would just unfollow the facebook page when they realize this.

  19. Saudi Arabia is the Mega-Drug Kingpin and the United States, home of the Bought, is their muscle.
We wave flags and LIE to everyone in our country, that the USA means freedom & love of country!

You know what is fucking Fairy Dust?
The idea that the new Oil War Puppet, HRC, is going to be CHANGED, or STOPPED by Progressives pushing Her left. Obama is cracking skulls right now! Over an OIL pipeline.
But a vote for Greens is irresponsible, and selfish, and I am only doing it so I can feel good about myself in my “progressive purity.” And I don’t know how the real world works. And I am naive and childish.

    HILLARY IS GOING TO WIN.
So, please, everyone who is Holding-Their-Nose-for Her, YOU WIN. STFU already.
Call us names, say we are whiny babies & not doing anything but complain (like a vote for HRC changes a goddamn thing), say whatever you like … can’t vote for Her.

Thank god for Aggressive Progressives. Thank you Jimmy, Steve, Jordan & Emma.
Thank you Democracy Now and all the other progressive channels … keep spreading the word.
and Thank you Jill Stein & Ajamu Baraka for standing strong.

I hate this friggin election. It just sucks.

  20. Jimmy Dore, excellent point with the MalcolmX comment on Goldwater. Sigh. ‘Fasten your seat belts, it’s going be a bumpy night’, and a very bumpy foreseeable future.

    1. Malcolm is full of choice quotes that appear to apply to this election. I’ve gone to Wikiquote and found lots of additional ones:

“Chickens coming home to roost never did make me sad; they’ve always made me glad.”

“If you stick a knife in my back nine inches and pull it out six inches, there’s no progress. If you pull it all the way out that’s not progress. Progress is healing the wound that the blow made. And they haven’t even pulled the knife out much less heal the wound. They won’t even admit the knife is there.”

“They [America] don’t practice what they preach … I have more respect for a man who lets me know where he stands, even if he’s wrong, than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil.”

“The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make the criminal look like he’s a the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. This is the press, an irresponsible press. It will make the criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.

“You get freedom by letting your enemy know that you’ll do anything to get your freedom; then you’ll get it. It’s the only way you’ll get it.”

“A revolution is bloody, but America is in a unique position. She’s the only country in history in a position actually to become involved in a bloodless revolution. The Russian revolution was bloody, Chinese revolution was bloody, French revolution was bloody, Cuban revolution was bloody, and there was nothing more bloody then the American Revolution. But today this country can become involved in a revolution that won’t take bloodshed.”

  21. Steve Oh, as a woman, I was not upset by the use of the word ‘pussy’ to describe a woman’s genital area. I am upset by any man who feels he has the right to grab any part of a woman without permission. That is objectification at it’s worst, and it is predatory behavior.

  22. I don’t get your statement Jimmy that half of Americans are poor. I’ve tried Googling “percentage poor in us” several times and it returns “14.5 percent.”

    1. Jimmy may be including the working-poor in his 50% number.

I googled “percentage poor in us” to see what you were seeing. I saw articles describing how “poverty is not as bad…” from Forbes, some HuffPo articles, the official US census & poverty threshold, etc.

But, I also found his 50% or half description in these articles….
      http://www.irp.wisc.edu/index.htm
      http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2015/12/09/459087477/the-tipping-point-most-americans-no-longer-are-middle-class

There are also a number of articles that talk about 1 in 3 Americans being “working-poor.” They have low-paying jobs and must use govt assistance (food stamps, public housing, medicare) to keep themselves just above the poverty line.

If “poor” means going to bed hungry every night and being homeless, well, obviously that is not half of Americans.
But, what if you live paycheck to paycheck.
If you lose your car, you are in danger of losing your job.
If you lose your job, you lose your home.
If you have health insurance, but even with a tax break, it costs as much or more than your mortgage.

What is your definition of poor?

      1. This is from the following Huffington Post article link:

“Despite five years of economic recovery, poverty is still stubbornly high in America.

“More than 45 million people, or 14.5 percent of all Americans, lived below the poverty line last year, the Census Bureau reported on Tuesday.

        “according to the Census Bureau.

The annual income threshold for being counted as living in poverty was $11,490 last year for a person and $23,550 for a family of four.”

        http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/09/16/poverty-household-income_n_5828974.html

        1. Have you ever heard the distinction made between “the Official unemployment rate” and “the Real unemployment rate”? This refers to the fact that for decades, politicians in power have loved to claim that unemployment is low (because it makes them look good) and so the authorities have done everything they can to make sure that the official number of unemployed is an underestimation – for example, by ensuring that those who stop looking for work are not counted in the official numbers.

Something comparable (but not exactly the same) is true with poverty statistics.

On the one hand you have the “absolute poverty” rate, which is the number you cited, which is crude and conservative. It only looks at people’s basic income and not at man other factors such as: how much debt are they holding, are they on food stamps and other social security even though they make $11,490 a year, etc.

On the other hand you have the “relative poverty” rate, which attempts to take into account all those other factors (some of which are much more difficult to quantify!) while also giving proper attention to economic inequality and relative deprivation rates.

The Wikipedia article on the poverty threshold contains criticisms on the Absolute Poverty Rate such as:

In addition to wage and salary income, investment income and government transfers such as SNAP (also known as food stamps) and housing subsidies are included in a household’s income. Studies measuring the differences between income before and after taxes and government transfers, have found that without social support programs, poverty would be roughly 30% to 40% higher than the official poverty line indicates.

    2. There are several indices and obviously it depends on how you define “poor”. But you’re looking at the most conservative estimates which only count the category of people that are literally starving and which purposefully try to low-ball the number.

    1. Cenk & Co. can do anything they want, shame voters, tell people they aren’t progressive because they don’t vote his way. But if he wants me to renew my membership when it comes up, he’ll keep Aggressive Progressives and TYT Politics alive.

  23. Thanks Jimmy & Steve. Great show. I wish you guys provided more segments on YouTube to share with the public. Esp about the Syrian & John Kerry part. WE NEED TO GET THE INFORMATION OUT THERE!!

  24. What’s the Difference between Keystone XL and DAPL? Obama stood in the way of Keystone but not DAPL? Is anyone looking into the money? Is there money passed from the Corps. to the local Govt.? Does the ND Governor have investments in these Corps.? How about Oboma? Are these Corps his donors as opposed to Keystone?

    Expose the corruption!

  25. The picture of the man being maced is disgusting. Even more so when you recognize who this person is based on the stethoscope around his neck. What a bunch of “A”-hole civil servants. Macing a health care provider.

    1. wagnerphysed, I agree about the macing, particularly after seeing Hong Kong protesters being maced by police. The video was on democracynow.org. The mace canister that the Chinese police used looked half the size of the mace canisters used by the DAPL-Police! What happened? Did the procurement officer go to the munitions dispensary and request, “Oh, on that mace, super-size it, please”!

  26. Gotta love that Malcolm X/Barry Goldwater parallel. The New York Times wrote this in 1964 about Malcolm’s speech:

Malcolm X, a former leader of the Black Muslims, who now heads a Black Nationalist grGup, has expressed the view that Negro Americans would fare better if Senator Barry Goldwater were elected President than if President Johnson should be reelected.

Most Negro leaders and organizations are committed to President Johnson and have registered strong opposition to Senator Goldwater.

Malcolm X, writing in this week’s Saturday Evening Post, said that the two candidates were quite similar, but that with Senator Goldwater “the black people at least know what they are dealing with.” He said Senator Goldwater was like a “wolf,” and President Johnson was like a “fox.”

“Since these are the choices, the black man in America, I think, only needs to pick which one he chooses to be eaten by, because both will eat him,” he said. With the Senator, he noted, “they would at least know they were fighting an honestly growling wolf, rather than a fox who could have them in his stomach and have digested them before they even knew what is happening.”

If Senator Goldwater became President, according to Malcolm, the Negro would know he had to fight harder and would be “more positive in his demands, more aggressive in his protests.”

  27. Few important things for context:

    1. the kingdom of Saudi Arabia is Clinton Foundation’s top sponsor, so it is no wonder that Hillary is pushing for the “regime change” in Syria, as well as no fly zone, despite admitting in her private paid speech to a bank that it would be deadly for civilians;

    2. back in 2010 Clinton’s deputy at StateDep has moved to become Google’s top manager. The company and StateDep collaborated together with creating social media tracking/manipulation software for defectors/activists to be used during so-called “Arab Spring”. It was then transferred to Al Jazeera, a propaganda outlet of Qatar, which is a Wahhabi/Salafi tyranny that currently finances its own “moderate” “rebel” Al-Qaeda clone in Syria Ahrar al-Sham;

    3. CIA/StateDep currently play the game of trying to separate “moderate rebels” from Al-Qaeda (renamed Al Nusra and its other clones), but in reality “rebels” do not want to be separated with their “brothers”; they all want an Islamic State (the “IS” part in “ISIS”), literally;

    4. the Orwellian MSM tells you that after years of peaceful ruling Assad all of sudden went insane and has “started massacring his own citizens”. In reality the kingdom of Saudi Arabia has started installing Al-Qaeda cells already since 2004, and the USA started developing a plan for “regime chance” since 2006 as per Wikileaks’ diplomatic cables that private Manning has released. And the first deadly clashes in Syria have occurred on March of 2011 with 4 (four) “peaceful protesters” and 7 (seven) policemen shot. And there is a great suspicion on the matter who has actually started shooting there.

    5. The most of other atrocities the MSM accuse Assad of are about as truthful as the question who has started the war. For example, the infamous gassing incident in 2013 was actually carried out by Al-Qaeda with the help of Turkey that has helped to smuggle chemical weapons from Libya. Erdogan has jailed Turkish whistle-blower over this. And there was earlier separate report from Seymour Hersh on the same issue (his sources were USA’s intelligence). The MIT has also calculated that would be impossible for the Syrian army to carry out that chemical attack at the time, considering the disposition of forces, weaponry and other factors. Let alone it made no sense since Assad has chemical weapons commission working in the country right at the time.

All that said, I am not saying that Trump’s international policy would be great. If he wins, the only hope is that tensions with Russia would lessen, but tensions with Iran and China will grow, which is bad. Anyway, the chances are that Hillary will win so it would not matter.

    1. 1- It is not Saudi Arabia that wants regime change, the Syrian people do. Plus why are you so afraid of a no fly zone, the rebels don’t have planes and if the regime is so popular as you always claim it won’t find a problem winning the war with the 1 million young sunni men of military age living inside regime territory which you still could not justify not enlisting them and instead bringing 16 and 17 year old shia Afghans, Lebanese and Iraqis to fight for Assad…

2- Dude, millions went to the streets, are all those people CIA/State Department Agents?

3- Why should they separate from AQ when the Assad regime refuses to separate itself from internationally recognized terrorist organisations like the Quds Corps and Hizbollah (both are dedicated in their respective constitution to the establishment of the State of the Imam, the Shia version of the Caliphate)? Terrorism goes both ways you know.

4- Was it Saudi Arabia or Syria? I can’t quite tell:
      http://www.france24.com/en/20090901-maliki-blames-syria-attacks-assad-denies-claim-

And this is the timeline of what happened in Syria with links to every single incident:
      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Syrian_Civil_War_(January%E2%80%93April_2011)

As you can see the first murders by the regime took place on March 18th and regime did not claim any of its troops were killed.

5- AQ fired rockets from inside Assad’s air bases as the UN report said? That is a nice one. As for the MIT “study”, Mr. Postol’s source material was a Syrian intelligence officer by the name of Maram Susli and youtube footage, the UN actually took samples and trajectories. Seymour Hersch’s piece was rejected by every respectable outlet especially by those he dealt with since the 70s. And by the way it was the same UN inspectors who were in Syria when the attack happened that issued the report. Plus the videos of bombing refugee camps inside Syria and attacking demonstrators with helicopter gunships is so abundant on youtube that any single one of them would sent Assad to the gallows.

  28. Jimmy and Steve, I was hearing about what you are reading right now, which is awesome… Regarding your reporting about #NoDAPL I want to recommend the book “Indigenous History of the United States” by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz. This book changed my life and world paradigm. In my community we have had many “book clubs”/ reading groups discussing this recent history text. We are now reading 1491 by Charles Mann and next we will be reading “the Open Veins of Latin America”, I would love to hear what you all think about these texts… Love your show! OH, about what Steve was saying about triggering words. Yes, the word “Pussy” is a traumatizing word to women when it comes out of the mouth of ANY WHITE MAN, including you AP voices… Be accountable to your white male privilege and bias. And, getting brown/black/people and most importantly women on your show would make this show WAY better! As a Native American woman, I want to see some resemblance of representation of people who look and come from my community. That is my biggest critique, where are all the brown feminine progressives at ‘Aggressive Progressives’? You got the Aggressive part down, but you need to work on diversifying the exemplifies the True Power of progressive, which always is in the voices, ACTIONS, and prayers of the women.

  29. Why do they think trump will be able to get as little done has GHWB? If he wins he could have control of house, senate, and then supreme court. They’d be so afraid he would primary people against repubs who don’t go a long with him, so he will be able to get ANYTHING done he wants. It’s true hillary will go right, but I think its silly to say trump would get less done when he’d have control of everything.

      1. I just feel like his talking points are a little outdated here. The republicans have completely gone to heel at this point, and hillary will definately not win with a mandate.

      2. robertjordan18, are you saying that “Trump ain’t got Dick!”?

I watched this episode after the election, and it was a bit odd to hear election forecasting that was so not even in the zone…Twilight Zone, that is, as it turned out! Even with control of both houses will Republicans tow the Trump line? Robertjordan18, what do you think: does Trump have the resources to primary anyone? I would think that could happen if Trump’s interests align with the Koch Bros. interests because the Koch organizations would be funding the “primarying”.

        1. He’ll have the resources to primary people, but if he wastes them (and his political capital) on this kind of thing, he’ll still hurt himself considerably.

In other words, let’s hope he does it…

  30. Great show – I didn’t know about the pipelines. I first heard Listen Liberal’s author interviewed on Nicole Sandler’s show, then watched him further on YouTube. Should be required reading or watching.

  31. The Iran hostage crisis, where the US embassy was stormed and hostages held for years was forgotten in this conversation. Most of US animosity towards Iran is traced back to that event.

    1. hosam, I disagree. The US embassy hostages numbered 52 people and they were held for 444 days, not years. The hostages were released due to the Carter administration’s diplomacy but on the Reagan administration’s watch. The crisis was resolved and eventually entered into the dusty annals of history. What is more important is our installation of the Shah. Our nation seems to have a predilection for installing and/or supporting totalitarian regimes. Jimmy identified that the Shah oppressively ruled for 20 years. As a result, the Shah was deposed and the Iranians didn’t want to have anything to do with us. Can you blame them?

Then, the Reagan administration sold weapons to Iran to fund its illegal intervention against the Contras in Argentina. The Iran/Contra mess was a stab in the back to the Iraqis, who were fighting with Iranians with our blessing and spy-satellite help. Iraq ended their war with Iran after eight years, signing away the disputed territory to the Iranians.

After 20 years of oppressive rule by the Shah and eight years of war with Iraq, who received limited support from us, Iran demonized us, which was carried by the media at the time. American TV-news viewers saw protesters in the Iranian streets denouncing the US as “The Great Satan” and burning the American flag. Keep in mind that the Iranian government was “revolutionary” and an “Islamic Republic” with plenty of oil.

Remember the Maine! Remember Pearl Harbor! Remember the Gulf of Tonkin! Remember the Hostages! “What hostages?” the school children ask. The US animosity towards Iran has more to do with oil and our lack of knowledge, interest and understanding of foreign cultures than it does with 52 hostages that were held for 444 days and released over 35 years ago. Our memory is just not that long.
