  1. Hello

I have been a TYT member for years and a big fan for a longer time. I’m a big fan of Cenk, Jayar, John, Jimmy ,Steve, Dave. i would like to start by saying:’ great job on the new programs”. While All stars is kind of a mess structurally, it’s really fun to watch. I love Grace’s Murder with friends show.I’m obviously not used to write comments ( this is my first ever), so i have to be honest and express that the less we see Michael Shure the better. i have actually stopped watching some clips and sometimes the first hour because of him( thank god he is rarely on), it’s not about who he is voting for , it’s because he parrots whatever is said by the establishment .You are probably good friends with Michael and i’m sure he is a nice person but if we wanted to listen to such an establishment “journalist” we could watch CNN or MSNBC. You should used West Clark, Alonzo the comedian, Brett, Grace, way more often.

  2. Is it me, or has the audio quality been absolute GARBAGE lately?

Lots of clipping & artificating… it’s just awful. New equipment or a new audio engineer would do a lot for the show.

    Thanks, gang.

  3. The TYT panel is like the MSM in how they disrespect Trump voters for sticking by Trump no matter the awful things that come to light about him. Here’s the problem with that:

    > For 40+ years, voters have been told not to believe the liberal media, so all the new so-called “news” about Trump is assumed by those voters to be BS, just more dirty-trick-lies from the Clinton propaganda machine

    > In this case, those voters are not far wrong, in that the Clintons are masters of dirty-trick-lies, as we all saw during the primaries with the dirty trick lies they pulled with regards to Bernie.

So seriously, how hard is it to understand that Trump voters have good reason to distrust what the media is telling them about Trump?

Where I live, a majority of the people I know are Republicans who are voting for Trump. Some of them are probably overt racists, but most of them are not. They come from all economic backgrounds. Some are very smart, successful people, not “whiners” as Cenk wants to call them. They are aware of Trump’s shortcomings. They wish they had a better candidate to vote for.

But here’s the bottom line: They cannot abide the thought of President Hillary Clinton. They are “ANYONE but Hillary.”

I don’t think Trump will win… but I also know that it is not outside the bounds of possibility. And for ONE reason, and one reason only: because the DNC pre-anointed the Worst Possible Candidate, and rigged the system to guarantee her the nomination.

    1. Cenk has basically stopped analyzing the Trump voting block, at least on the air. I suspect that he knows all too well that this is negligent, but currently he doesn’t care enough.

  4. Nobody should be counting Trump out. Both John and Cenk see that, clearly.

In many ways, this is analogous to the Primary, between Hillary and Bernie. “When will Bernie drop out? …he’s finished now…He HAS to do well tomorrow, or he’s done. But he kept going, and did better at times, than we expected.

But, as it turned out, the game was being raided, the dice was being controlled, even before the Primaries began.

There is a dynamic element at work, here. It’s not a matter of a simple ‘This candidate is clearly more electable than the other’. IF the DNC HADN’T been manipulating information and events; IF Bill Clinton hadn’t illegally shown up in a polling station in Boston; IF voters weren’t purged off the rolls – what would have happened?

Summarily, if Sanders and Clinton were on the SAME playing field, and the establishment weren’t pulling strings (same with Ron Paul in 2012, with the shenanigans illustrated by Jon Stewart), is it a given that Clinton would still pull through? Would the lesser of two evils strategy be totally UNjustifiable, between Trump and Sanders?

I think no to the first, and yes to the second. But we’ll never know for sure, because the system is a mess and we’re not running it.

We’ll never know, for sure. Not without some device that can directly observe alternate realities.

For now, we should expect nothing specific, and prepare for anything.

  5. John’s comments about the complexity of reality, and our desperate need to make it simple, is impossible to top. This is the source of a lot of the difficulty in our lives, in some of our disagreements and religious arguments, and the reason for much of the support for both Trump and Hillary.

They could have just ended the segment right there, on a high note.

  6. I’m really disappointed with how absolutely sure Michael is that Trump has, and always had, no chance of winning even though the polls have been going back and forth pretty much the entire race. Even when the others point out that the polls have them basically neck and neck he staunchly refuses to believe it. Why? Why do you not believe all the polls? He sounds like all the establishment people that say the polls don’t matter if their candidate is shown to be losing, but will be the first to yell from the mountaintops how the polls show their candidate winning.

    1. Because, just like the establishment, part of the trick is to never, ever acknowledge the possibility that your world view might not be accurate. You decide what the shape of the world is, most especially when that world has the vulgar temerity of pushing back. It’s ‘top-down’ thinking in the service of an elite.

  7. 19:30 “Rush Limbaugh sounds like he’s staying up late getting high off the internet”.

Is “internet” slang for Oxycontin? If so, then correct.

  8. It would be fair and balanced if you guys covered the ‘cover up’ of the illegal Hillary-Obama arms sales to Libyans terrorist that where use to kill American? Just a thought.. then you can go back to assailing Trump for being sexist..

  9. Hurricanes are good, because they cool down the oceans. However, they may do lots of damage and kill people, that is the bad part. Is it due to climate change, no, but the increase in intensity as Cenk mentioned IS part of the climate change.

Now, go grab some pussy… go Trump!

  10. Trump and Pence, along with millions of other people can admit they were innocent of the charges but that does not mean they are innocent. I hope Pence gets sued and forced to study the Constitution. Freedom and citizenship are way way too effing central to the law to permit any state to do as they will.

Think there is some interesting overlap on “Trump’s School of Respect For Women” documentary as it transcends party lines and is rooted in social constructs. Guessing one group hated him for presenting a false self image too repugnet that even Cosby would avoid

  11. the true hypocrisy of the evangelicals and their ilk, a point Joy Reid tried to get to on Hardball Friday;

If they say “god” has selected, anointed, flipped a coin and chosen Mitt Romney, it’s not that they were wrong, it’s that their premise means “god”” selected Obama, twice, which they of course deny

    1. With their constant hypocrisy around Trump, I’ve begun to think of evangelicals as barely different from ordinary white supremacists. There’s not such a huge leap between “we’re god’s one chosen people” and “we’re god’s one chosen race”

  12. Cenk or Anna: Have you considered investigating the Trump rape allegations? From Jill Harth and from the Jane Doe V. Trump and Epstein case (scheduled for a status conference order on 12/16/16)? They are disturbing allegations.

  13. Oh great! Now the Donald has destroyed the one joy I get to have in the privacy of my own home. Do a simple search on “pussy” and ya get a how to move on women and fail miserably. WTF, man? For all you Trump supporters out there stop for a moment and ask yourself, would you really want the Donald to grab your mother, sister, daughter, niece by the pussy? Go ahead vote your conscience!

  14. Really disappointed by the Power Panel commentary on the Trump/Bush “Grab ’em by the pussy” video. I wish there had been a woman (rarely are there two or more women on TYT at the same time…), perhaps Grace or Kim, to jump in and say, What are you guys talking about?! Cenk, you almost pardoned him? Hugging the woman was okay out of context? NONE OF IT WAS FUCKING OKAY!!!! Referring to the woman as “it.” Telling the woman to hug both men – she has no choice; she has to do it. That is the very image of oppression of the weak by the powerful. She doesn’t hug them, she gets fired. Women put up with sexual harassment constantly in the workplace; they complain, they refuse, they get fired. Trump says he can do whatever he wants to women because he’s a star. He’s essentially admitting that fame equals power over other human beings. He can literally sexually assault a woman and she will let him. IS THAT OKAY??? And the worst part is… you guys don’t criticize him for this. (At least not where I am in the video.) You don’t say he’s a sick excuse for a human being. You don’t stand up for your female friends and relatives and say you’re appalled on their account. No, you SHAME him by wondering if he lacks experience with sex and hooking up with women. Jon compares him to the pitiful main character in the 40 Year Old Virgin. Michael jokingly says an “cool” older brother should jump in and tell him not to say that – not because of the CONTENT of what he said but HOW he said it.

I don’t know what else to say. Seeing this original video left me feeling really bad about… everything, basically, all day. I had never heard men talking like that before. I wondered if the majority of men talk this way when I’m not around. I thought about my male friends and family members, people I love with all my heart. Did they talk that way? I was shocked, hurt, terrified. Then I came across Ben Mankiewicz’s tweet where he definitively pointed out that not all men talk like this.

BLESS YOU, BEN. YOU took the time to say that. I needed to hear that. None of the guys on this panel could bring themselves to say that because they were too busy making fun of Trump for having bad game, basically.

Just a massive disappointment. And from Jon, too :( I think that saddens me the most. I love Jon!

    1. I agree. If Trump, or anyone, had been talking about black ppl using derogatory slurs and all that about them, there would be no laughing. Guy talk? Not OK. It is the same as laughing and saying , oh that’s just white ppl talk when you hear racism. Even the libs that I respect need to take sexism more seriously. I am a woman, and I am not laughing.

    2. You nailed it. I really don’t think the TYT guys or most normal guys talk like this. That video made me literally nauseated and scared. I’m sure the woman didn’t wake up that morning imagining some good sexual harassment and possible rape during her time with Donald and little bushie. I wasn’t shocked, though. I figured that’s how it was for The Donald, after hearing Cenk point out all the times that The Donald was a complete douche. He is a shallow, little, insecure scrap of a human.

    3. I agree that sexism is often regarded as “different” somehow and less dangerous than discrimination against racial minorities, even though the evidence for women facing systematic disadvantage is out in broad daylight and even in the majority of American homes. What this type of banter solidifies in the minds of participants are that the women they are referring to are less than human, that they exist to be consumed for pleasure by the greedy powerful and then quickly forgotten. That they do not have thoughts, ideas, and goals of their own that matter. And it is the dehumanization of women that very clearly perpetuates the notion of women as property and an epidemic of often deadly violence against them. To hear that this round of Trump comments was chosen as a topic of discussion for this show merely because “there are worse things, but this is funny today” is sorely disappointing for progressive women in the audience. Talk like this may indeed be part of a behavior-experimentation “phase” that adolescents do go through, which involves risk-taking and boundary-pushing in general, but if society does not set the hard boundaries to push back, then too many will grow into adults who think like this. How much do we tolerate adolescents experimenting with racist behavior by shrugging our shoulders and excusing it as merely a phase? “Guys are guys, right?” NO. People are PEOPLE, and they all deserve your respect. Someone has talked this way about your mother at some point in her life, I can almost guarantee it. How does that make you feel?

    4. Gosh. I think it says a lot about the current state of affairs that when I saw via email that several people had responded to my comment I immediately felt fear and tension because I assumed it was all insults and attacks for being a bitch, feminazi, etc. Thanks, guys, for restoring my faith in humanity, just a tiny bit :)

    5. > Then I came across Ben Mankiewicz’s tweet where he definitively pointed out that not all men talk like this.

You’re joking, right? Why does that even need pointing out? Talk about stating the obvious.

    6. Yes, they need to have a little more empathy for women. Have they thought about what it would be like to have a powerful man or a man who could easily physically overpower them grab their genitals or kiss them against their will? And know that everyone around that guy would laugh about it and even encourage them to do it? This was a perfect example of rape culture. This is how men get away with sexually assaulting and harassing women. Not all men do it but the ones who do are excused.

      1. Cenk used to rate all women he saw according to the old TYT theme song. He’s come a long way from the sexist prick he used to be, but he still has a long way to go, and really understands very little about rape culture. I think he’s been faster on recognizing racial disparity and class disparity, because there’s always this distance with other groups that doesn’t exist between heterosexual men and heterosexual women.

In the strange dynamic that is sexual attraction and reproduction, there’s a lot of forced interaction between these groups, because of the sex drive. This doesn’t necessarily exist, or have to exist between different races and classes, because it’s possible to construct realities where neither group interacts much. With race and class, the dominant groups have gone to great lengths to limit interaction, or at least make the power dynamic clear during interactions. With heteronormative sexual relations, the interactions are somewhat forced, and because of the long history of patriarchy, the false assumptions based on what a man wants a woman to be and how much she feels obligated by the rules of patriarchal society to conform to that image are written deep into the societal code.

Men were never forced to acknowledge this disparity for so long, and because that’s how privilege works, the privileged group often doesn’t know anything is wrong about the dynamic to ask questions about. Of course, some are aware and perfectly happy with the power disparity. I think the internet is helping with this, because there is no longer an industry sitting on top of mass communication and media, deciding which voices get out. Everyone has a voice, and even men who didn’t know something was wrong are getting confronted with it daily now. This also results in terrible behavior on the part of men who don’t care and want to keep that power dynamic the way it is, resulting in doxing and death threats, but others are bumping into other perspectives and looking them over, appreciating that new perspective and coming to new conclusions. Cenk just has more work to do, especially him, since he tends to think of all motivations of all people as somehow related back to sex.

  15. Micheal Moore got it right about Trump. There are people who only support him because he is the Molotov Cocktail that people want to throw at the establishment that has failed them completely. So instances like this don’t make them feel shame. It justifies them.

  16. Thank you for covering the hurricane’s effect on Haiti. Heifer International is another good charity for those who want to support the Haitian people with a donation.

    1. Agree, many of us care as much about ppl in Haiti as ppl anywhere.
Plus I can’t help but notice how often Rush says “ram it down our throats”
