The premiere of All Star Tuesday, in which TYT hosts create a “third hour” of the main show, contributing their own stories. This week, Wes Clark Jr., Jacorey Palmer, Grace Baldridge and Hasan Piker.

Comments

  1. Honestly it feels like a treat whenever Wes Clark Jr. is on a TYT program. Can we get any more of him?! He’s so rational and appropriately passionate about the most important issues while being able to keep up with joking light-heartedness in the less serious stories. He might just be my favorite TYT host along with Cenk and Ben. Unfortunately I agree with a lot of the comments about Has. He has a place in some shows, it’s just rarely any of the serious ones.

    1. John and Ana are great too, but I mean that I think Cenk, Wes, Ben, and maybe Michael Shure are the most substantive about serious issues. I look forward to that panel!!

  2. Enjoyed Grace’s first story and Wes rightfully scared the hell out of me with the climate change info. But Hasan’s intro to his story is by itself such a massive turn-off, hell, a fucking insult to all your female listeners, TYT, that I can’t even understand why you let this guy continue to be on the show. At times I think he’s learned his lesson and has matured, but then I realize that that maybe isn’t the case. I’m sorry to the rest of the hosts but I’m just too repulsed to finish this video. Women are fucking human beings, Hasan. I seriously doubt you would bring up a story about how black people are driven towards certain behaviors, or that gay people instinctively act this way or that way. Why, because it’s fucking bullshit. But why does everyone think it’s okay to talk about women like this. I’m sick to death of this “men are the apex of society” bullshit that I honestly thought we’d gotten past somewhere back in the 19th century. Evidently not.

  3. Just watched this new show after reading a large number of the comments about the show and, as such couldn’t avoid those regarding Has’ performance. As I always do, I watched the episode before forming an opinion. Adding my opinion here. Agree Has has a place on another show but not on this one. Even after being told at the beginning that the panel was trying to have a serious conversation, he couldn’t stop himself from adding childish comments. Had to stop half way through.

  4. When I start a video and see Has, then I generally turn it off, immediately. On the other hand, Wes’s contributions are one of the main reasons I subscribe. I struggled, but couldn’t finish watching this show, because I’m put-off by Has’s interaction with the other panel members.

Dude, STFU for a second. And, you’re not funny.

Thought this comment was a pretty harsh, so i looked through previous comments. Nope, verdict is: SUBSCRIBERS DON’T LIKE HAS. Your move TYT.

    1. thedavefox: YES. Concur completely. If I see Wes’ name as a contributor to a show I’ll always listen. Don’t always agree, but at least the commentary has substance. Prior to today, I hadn’t listened much to Has. I’ve had my fill. No more.

  5. Loved all the talk about Climate Change, it’s so important to inform others! Also, I have had the pleasure of owning a Rottweiler, a Doberman, American Bulldogs, AND a Pitbull, and they were WONDERFUL dogs and I loved the snot out of them, they were just, the best. The most important thing to know about dog behavior is they act based upon their environment, SPECIFICALLY their owner. There are NO SUCH THING as bad dogs, ONLY bad owners.

Loved this new TYT All Star Tuesday show!

  6. I really liked this show, will watch again. With the context of the show, ,wanting to go through 8 subjects, Has should refrain from the bantering but I enjoy him to be honest. Loved the subjects, very interesting. I agree with a lot of the posting, Wes is great and Grace is lovely and getting much better in front of the camera.

  7. Really enjoyed the show, Has is getting a lot of hate but I like that he’s different, it’s good to have a contrast of people on the panel, I like Grace, Wes and Jacoby but Has brings the contrast.

  8. When I first started watching I thought “Oh shit, Has is on the show ugh.” but then I really enjoy TYT and the other hosts so I thought I would give this a try and not let him ruin it for me. I thought maybe Has will be different on this show. He just derailed the entire show, he is essentially a bully and the most unlikable person ever. I felt sorry for the others who were trying to do their jobs with earnest and here is the boss’s nephew being a brat and just shitting on everything they are trying to do. Has if your goal was to make people dislike you, congrats man.

Has ruining the show aside, I always enjoy watching Wes, Grace and this is my first time seeing Jacoby who I also like. TYT is supposed to be a team, there is no I in team as corny as that sounds, and I really hope that Has is replaced.

    1. I really don’t get all the has hate. He’s not always the best commentator, but he certainly doesn’t strike me as a bully. Also, why is everyone calling Jacorey “Jacoby”?

  9. Please, PLEASE, take Hasan Piker off the main show. He belongs on some light show like Pop Trigger or where he’s harmless. He has nothing of substance to add, he’s arrogant, interrupts often, and generally detracts from the more reasoned and thoughtful content of the main show. From lots of other comments, it seems I’m not alone. Listen to the members who support you and take this mental flyweight off the air. Listen to our opinions, OK??

  10. Hassan, you’re not a dick because you like urban environments. You’re a dick because you have little in the way of substantial commentary, you talk over people with rather vacuous points, and you’re generally not respectful of people.

No, but seriously, can we not have Hassan on TYT anymore or at most very small doses? I really don’t like seeing him on here, and it seems this is a nearly unanimous opinion.

  11. Has is the Ann Coulter of TYT. Look at me, Look at me!!
I remember a few post games ago when he go mad because Grace called him a douchebag, boy did he prove her right today.

    1. Yeah, Hassan is absolutely a jackass. I really do not find his commentary worth listening to. He needs like 10 or 20 more years before he pulls his head out of his ass and acts like a coherent, informed, reasoned adult human being. But right now, he’s mostly just the walking stereotype of an unthinking young person who only cares about their iPhone and yelling at people on social media.

  12. Grace = Love. Wes = Love. Jacorey = Love. Has = wtf man? Look, I can tolerate you on the main show sometimes when you show up to co-host, but this? No. Just no…

  13. Hasan needs to go. At first I thought he’d just needed a bit of time to find his bearings, but now i’m convince he is simply an idiot. He loves to be a childish contrarian and his commentary starts to ruin stories the more he is allowed to speak.

  14. Hasan is best suited to Pop Trigger or MAYBE Think Tank.

It seems that he has the attention span of a goldfish. He keeps swimming around, blowing bubbles, doesn’t seem to give a shit about anything (that doesn’t directly involve him), and just wants to hit the surface & gulp air! That’s probably a bit harsh, but that’s the impression I’m having.

Everything Wes says is spot-on … and what he is saying is hair-on-fire scary. So WHY are Cenk & Company pushing $hillary when She is the Number One world advocate of fracking??? There’s no way Trumpzilla can do half of the shit he talks about.
However, $hillary, with the help of MSM, Corporate Dems AND Republicans, can do everything that the energy companies want. She is 100x more dangerous to the planet.

  15. After watching this I looked up my local election calendar, messaged a local company about putting solar panels on my new house, and gave Jill Stein $27…. Way to motivate and freak the hell out of people guys. Also, grace is my favorite!

  16. Agree withWes about everything… Especially about dachshunds they r the worst. I have a scar on my arm from a bite when I was young that was really bad. Vicious bastards.

  17. Not sure if I will watch this show again. Too depressing. At least I was smart and had no kids. I leave no one behind to face the nightmare that humans will turn our world into.

  18. This is a good educational program about progressive issues, values and literally “pet” topics. I like it. A good addition to covering topics beyond: Trump we hate (Hour 1), Politics we hate (Hour 2), and Hillary we hate (Aggressive Progressives).

  19. Nepotism is a bad idea and this episode illustrates why. Every time I see Hasan on one of these shows he is inappropriate, full of himself, and interrupts constantly. Cenk is aware that a lot of members aren’t happy with Has but he laughs it off.

  20. I’m not a fan of Hasan’s in general, and he was really a dick in this show, rude and disrespectful. He needs to be somewhere else and let the grown ups handle this. Definitely would also prefer to not see him on the main panels either, he usually misses the point of a story.

    1. totally agree, if he were not related to Cenk he would not be on this show. He needs to go away and do what he likes best, worshiping himself. Get rid of him, he is not TYT material, send him to Fox News

      1. Actually if you look at the old material Cenk was a lot like Has back in the day, so who knows, not a bad dude and a progressive voice in my opinion.

  21. Been a really busy week so I just caught the show late Saturday afternoon. Really enjoyed Grace, Wes and Jacorey and it was obvious that Hasan really enjoys the sound of his own voice (unfortunate for the rest of us). He seemed to be trying too hard and wanting to dominate the conversation to enlighten us with his vast knowledge of everything. I hope he will take some of the comments to heart and perhaps get some other experience and stick more to scripted shows until he has time to mature a bit.

  22. Hasan seems to keep too much personal interjection up his sleeve with those he knows more outside of the show, in this case Grace. He doesn’t have to be super serious by any stretch especially based on what the given show platform tries to sell itself as. Often it doesn’t play well to outsiders (viewers) on the more “serious” news style shows, which this seems it wants to be in the long run. If you throw stuff at a wall to see what sticks, chances are you tend to end up with a giant mess of stuff that isn’t sticking but still lingers in the minds of others for longer than needed. That method tends to land more in the cringe worthy zone. Hasan is not a comedian though, so that strategy does not work for him as it would for someone like Jimmy Dore.

Old School is a good example of a show where friends, usually Cenk and Ben – who have known each other for decades now, can let the inside stuff surface without it taking away from the focus of the show. Hasan says Cenk is a person he looks up to the most and this is one area he could probably take more pointers from in regard to how he presents himself on air.

  23. Loved. This. Show. Grace, if you read these comments, I honestly didn’t think I could love you any more than I already did, but you are now my favorite person ever. Hands down. ???? Loved your articles, and I wish I could see your stand up (but I’m in Delaware and I doubt you get out this way much????). Anyway, I guess that’s enough of a love letter, hope you are on every week!
Also Wes needs his own show called “We’re All Going To Die!”

  24. I am going to like this show over time. I enjoyed the mix of people. I don’t understand why Hasan shoots himself in the foot. He can say serious, thoughtful things and do serious analysis but sometimes chooses to be a mean , moronic fratboy,. I hope he chooses to do more of the former and gives up the latter, forever. I have positive things to say about everyone on the panel. The topics were great.

    1. Agreed. And then he whinges about all the negative comments he keeps getting from the members about his behaviour… I don’t think he’s a bad guy or dumb at all, but part of his maturing will be to give some thought to whether or not all these member comments may have some validity or continues to think that he is just always sooooo misunderstood, poor Has…
I would hazard a guess that the member base of TYT is generally well educated and watches for content, primarily. You’re not that funny on camera and lack the charm of your uncle to make immature jokes look endearing and his ability to laugh at yourself, so drop that fratboy shtick and showcase the knowledge and research that you’ve clearly acquired, you’ll do much better with the audience.
Loved the other 3, always enjoy Wes and Grace and Jacori was a pleasant surprise, don’t see very much of him on other shows.

  25. The Has experiment was somewhat interesting at first, now he’s just a full blown douche. Please dude, be an adult or get off the show because it’s just d-level bullshit at this point

  26. When Hassan starts laught at Grace’s story pick… Wes looks over at him… oh his look was priceless… and then Has immediately quits laughing and says “No. I’m not laughing” XD

  27. Human civilization will decline just like the population of yeast during wine fermentation. We’re all going down together.

  28. Are you kidding me right now? Why is nobody talking about the EASIEST WAY TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING. STOP. EATING. MEAT. Animal agriculture is responsible for 20% of the greenhouse gas emissions. The best thing you can do is STOP EATING MEAT AND DAIRY. Added bonus: you don’t have to slaughter animals to get your nourishment.

    1. Individuals cannot make enough of an impact to stop climate change. It requires collective action which is extremely unlikely to occur. You could stop eating meat to make yourself feel better but you are still impacting the planet in other ways. For example, the deforestation of land used in agriculture you need to make fruits and vegetables, the co2 emissions from your car, the waste you produce, the food you waste, the electricity you use, the items you buy(electronics), etc. Yes some things have much a bigger impact but agriculture is not only used to feed animals but rather to feed us wether we are vegans, vegetarians, and/or meat eaters.

      1. What we’re talking about is switching to less carbon-intense food sources and reducing meat consumption is the only serious way to do that. And you can’t just shirk your responsibilities by saying that individual actions are feelgoodery
Every single individual is going to have to change their lifestyle; I agree the government is going to have to play a huge role but at the end of the day the issue is people and our economic system

  29. Really good show with Wes, Grace and Jacorey. Hopefully Has will get in the allstar mood of the others. Fun smackdown by Grace.

  30. Loved this new show. Great articles that usually don’t get covered much. Thank you for podcasting it. That’s how I get to listen to all your shows so thank you and please podcast more TYT shows like this.

  31. Really good addition to the network guys!
I love the idea of each presenting a story that they think was missed. One of my favourite Aussie news discussion show does something similar on it’s Friday show. I think the show will really develop into it’s own style over the next couple shows. I hope you guys take this opportunity to hear important stories from the perspectives of some of the less common voices at TYT as well.
Keen to watch this play out,
    John.

  32. I love Has’s sudden pivot to seriousness when Jacorey called him out. I like Has more than many of the members, but he was being a douche.

  33. Hasan is getting destroyed in the commentaries. The game in sesame street called one of these things doesn’t belong here. It seems that this game can be applied to the panel based on talent.

  34. Took me 2 minutes to realize Has was being tremendously disrespectful with Grace for no good reason. Who does that on the very first show of anything? He should be trying as hard as possible to pick the interest of viewers. He was playing ‘devil’s advocate’ by “smirking at Grace?
I felt terrible for Grace. I’m planning to skip Has on any subject he touches on the show… if he continues on the show.
Just terrible. Everybody loves Grace. Maybe he is jealous. On a show from 2 days ago somebody made the comment “everybody loves Grace” and he made a gun with his fingers and point to his head. There is something going on.

  35. This could be a good show without Has. I loved all the stories that Wes introduced. I would like to hear more from Grace and Jacorey.

  36. Hey guys, is there any way that this can feed into the members only podcasts? I do most of my listening to TYT via my podcasts (i’m usually at work at the time) and therefore have to go through multiple steps to get the audio of these cool new member only shows onto my phone. One of the many reasons why I’ve been digging the aggressive progressives!

  37. Wow, Jacorey dropping that bomb at the end (49:something) was reason enough to watch the entire episode on its own. Great, great point regarding preventative treatment for pedophilia (that is, treat it as the–possibly chronic–disease it is rather than waiting for a crime to be committed, derailing two lives in the process).

  38. Whats up with the has bashing? His point is valid. Must be all the pseudo-feminists & girlie-men feeling threatened by a handsome macho.

  39. Not to pile on, but the first segment demonstrates that Hasan is not ready for prime time. It seems like he was determined from the get-go to derail a ***serious*** conversation, and then half-heartedly trying to sum it up toward the end of the discussion. Especially when, after the other hosts managed to return to the topic, Hasan continued to interrupt, “helpfully” quoting Donald Trump and Newt Gingrich.

Correction: maybe Hasan is ready for prime time, on Fox News. Hopefully, now that Ailes is out, he won’t have to suffer too much to get the gig.

      1. don’t watch it live. Download the post, and setup a skip forward at 5 seconds… each time Has moves his mouth, skip-skip-skip… I’m planning to do that, seriously

    1. exaaaaactly how I feel. Wes is amazing, but Has is just a show-killer. Not seen Jacorey on yet and I don’t particularly care for Grace but Wes is easily one of my favourite to look for. And the people in the comments are bitching about Has AGAIN so it’s probably not worth it :x

  40. Why do you hire this guy? Fuck the Parks? Can you please cut of for him fresh air for 5 minutes and give him “urban” air straight out of car exhaust.
Maybe he will rethink idea about travel to Mars and meeting aliens. Sci -i is nice but we all need to live in a real world. And unless he can invent interstellar travel in his basement let try and save some air and water to drink in the mean time.

  41. Great show! Wes dropped the bomb on Has when he said: “Do you like breathing, (punk)?”.
… Ok, he didn’t say ‘punk’, but he thought of it.

  42. When Wes says: “On climate, we need drastic, radical action NOW“, I feel like this should be the reply to anyone who advocates incrementalism and slowly-slowly, highly superficial reformism…on ANY issue.

Why? Because it’s all tied together, you see. This prevailing attitude that radical action is never possible nor desirable – not on any level or in any field – didn’t just come out of nowhere overnight. It comes from our widespread submission to ideologies like conservatism, neoliberalism and consumerism that worship the status quo; it comes from our submission to the political factions and the powerful people who are just too invested in the status quo to ever contemplate radical action of any sort or kind.

It comes from any person, anywhere, who has ever said: “Let’s not move too fast, one step at a time; if we are too radical then we might break something, it’s too risky, etc.” Climate change is the ultimate, final counterpoint to this: everything WILL break if we don’t abandon this general investment in the status quo and the things that we like about the status quo…and start being RADICAL. As radical as we can be, because that is what it will take.

The response to climate change/disaster needs to be total, and therefore the change in our general attitudes, cultural norms and political opinions needs to be total, too. Change the system before it eats itself and annihilates us with it. That means first and foremost “change the system within yourself”, because that system has colonized most of us with its love of itself, its vanities, its attachments, its delusions of being some kind of pinnacle of human achievement that can never be destroyed.

Get rid of the thing within yourself that constantly replicates the system’s self-perpetuating dynamic, because it is this dynamic that prevents the radical changes we desperately need on so many levels.

    1. very nice post. Is cheaper to take drastic action. A wall to protect New Orleans from the ocean was around 3 billion dollars. It wasn’t done. After Katrina the cost for repairing all the damage was 20 billion. Where is the logic on delaying the “taking action”?

      1. That’s right, brother. How much it would cost is not even an obstacle. It’s not that the money (as well as the technical means, the necessary manpower, etc.) couldn’t be found to tackle this, if we really wanted to find it. It’s that we have become predisposed against radical, collective, all-encompassing action….on an ideological, cultural, and psychological level. Brainwashed, almost.

As philosopher Slavoj Zizek notes, “it’s now easier for us to imagine something like a meteor devastating the earth, than for us to imagine making major internal political changes such giving everyone healthcare etc. (and this is the real reason why the unpreventable disaster genre has become so big in Hollywood).

We used to be able to imagine huge collective projects that involved the whole of society in way or another, such as FDR’s New Deal, the Marshall Plan, the Space Program, etc. Money was no object, irrelevant. If we can imagine something politically, then we can make it happen. But we can no longer imagine such things it would seem.

  43. Loved the dog discussion! They’re so right, small dogs tend to bite more frequently, they just go unreported because it’s not severe. And I hate that so many people don’t train their small dogs like they do big dogs…. My view is “If you wouldn’t let a large dog do it, don’t let a small dog do it either!” Treat them the same.

  44. I think he likes to embrace the heel/meathead persona for fun, but he seems to be very professional on the main show.

  45. Is Has actively trying to get people to dislike him? Not sure why he was such a dick to Grace in the first story, honestly thought he was trying to make a joke with his answer until I realized he was actually being serious. And he’s chewing gum through this segment? Like wtf is going on lol. I get it, he’s Cenk’s nephew, but can we have some sort of standard for who gets on panel shows? He can stick to his own videos until he treats other people on camera with respect.

BTW, I just started watching, so maybe there is even more of this..

    1. I think everyone’s too hard on him, it’s the first show. They’re still experimenting with mood. He puts on a ‘face’ for the character and he’ll refine that based on feedback because he’s not just on camera because he’s Cenks nephew he clearly wants to be there. Also, I think he’s pretty good friends with Grace out of work, so I think we from the outside might read a situation differently than intended.

      1. This is a show with rotating hosts, so it’s not like they’re trying to find their groove. Has has been on plenty of panels and this is generally the attitude he has. I’ve seen a couple of his own videos on the YT channel when he dives into a topic alone and he’s fine. But it’s when he’s interacting with other people on camera that his real immaturity comes out.

  46. Awesome show!! Wes as always so interesting and cool. Grace supercool and well named. Has not so much, and Jacorey loved the main show vids and glad to have him on show.

  47. Didn’t know Wes was such a leftist. He’s like, beyond liberal. TYT needs a lot more people with his type of attitude.

  48. Wonderful show, I think you should send more tyt emails about these renewable energy companies and organizations. Send me things about it because I can send it out to other teachers. Students can quickly flood those inboxes of representatives!! My email is jaziwitz@gmail.com and I live in Bronx, NY.
