I found a record of her being alive in 2016, so we know she made it to at least 113yrs old but her number of husbands was still at 22

Beautiful story. I feel compelled to point out that Malaysia saw its fair share of war and occupation during both WWI and WWII. That only makes her life and unique story more interesting and her insights all the more valuable.

He might have ‘sneaked in’ but aj barged in and was a complete a-hole. If he did it for no reason then yea that would be wrong. It was in the heat of an ambush on him and his friends. It’s over with let’s just move on. Jimmy is a great guy and maybe the biggest reason I became a member. We’ve all dine stupid things at one time or another. The real sneak in the whole situation was roger no- stones hiding way in the back. Be the judge if you must but you weren’t the one being high jacked.
That is amazing. My guy is 51 and he has both his parents and his paternal grandmother of 102. Will have to share this women’s story with her! He has already had 21 more years with his dad and 30 more than my last grandparent . he has no idea how lucky he is. They never do .
By the way, Cenk, I am pretty sure there was a war in the Pacific Theatre in WW2, and in fact the entire country was occupied by the Japanese for more than three years. So, I am pretty sure no Malay (of any ethnicity) was happy-go-lucky at that time.

the stories of the much-married cougar and the Costa Rican surfing instructor bring to mind a short short story by Voltaire, “The Story of a Good Brahmin” — What would you prefer: to be happy but ignorant or to know a lot and be unhappy? it’s an old philosophical question, and discussions are rife on the internet. how interesting that you should come up with two perfect examples of the Brahmin’s neighbor, the ignorant but happy old woman. it also brings in the question that you explored recently about pessimistic people having more “successful” lives than optimists. it’s only fitting that the “Good Brahmin” story accompanies the novelette “Candide” in a compilation volume.
BTW, i’m a pretty new member, so how long do you think it’ll take for me to stop disliking Jimmy Dore so darned much? he IS occasionally funny, but so are most people. Cenk is funnier. what Jimmy lacks in humor, he makes up for in volume.
Hmmm…. I am a new member too, but been a regular watcher for most of this year. Try the Jimmy Dore show, see if you like it. The good thing about Jimmy is that he doesn’t equivocate, and he was so freakin’ passionate during Bernie’s run for the Dem nomination, that won a lot of people over.
well, his new show — Aggressive Progressives, i think it’s called — premieres tonight. i’ll be watching, and i’m willing to be what i really am — an aggressive progressive :) i’m just having a hard time with the AJ “spit-&-run” because of the medical implications, and legal, involved in spitting. i think a person can be arrested for spitting on someone — AIDS and other infectious diseases being the reason. plus, he sneaked in, took his shot, and immediately skulked away. i didn’t care for that; it was getting down to AJ’s level. but i keep trying. maybe AP is the WAY.
Older TYT videos on YouTube have wrong 5:4 ratio (versus correct one that should be 4:3) that made Cenk look thinner than he was, so in reality he is not that wider now than he was back in 2000s.
By the way: this woman is still alive, and she is waiting for her husband to return from jail over drug issues. She did not give up on him yet.
