After Mitt Romney’s criticism of his businesses, Trump defended all of the businesses he created during his victory speech to prove they were actually successful. A picture of “Trump steaks” shows that there are Bush Brothers Steaks logos on it. Trump Vodka, Trump Magazine, and several other failed projects aren’t really his, he just put his name on them. The main strategy for the GOP to prevent Trump from winning the nomination might be trying to organize a brokered or contestant convention.
Cokie Roberts told Trump that white children have begun mocking minority children by saying they will be deported once Trump is president. She asked him what he thinks about the issue and Trump responded by saying that was a “nasty question.” Video of Trump whining about the question and not giving an actual answers. Iran test fired a round of ballistic missiles and put “Israel should be wiped off the earth,” in Hebrew on two of them. After Nancy Reagan’s death, some Republicans are criticizing Obama because he won’t be attending her funeral, due to other events he has planned. Michele Bachmann called him “classless” for missing another Republican’s funeral. Audio of Marco Rubio saying Obama missing the funeral isn’t that big of a deal.

This whole super delegate thing sounds like part of the problem. It might not be “money in politics” but still. We do need Bernie’s political revolution. We need to count votes, just votes. With computers and modern tech why do we need delegates and Continental Congress. Sounds like a way to let ppl vote and have their votes not count
I fucking hate Jon Idarola in the first hour. Solo Cenk please.
About the headlines: Do the writers choose their own headlines? Because I’ve written as a freelancer for a newspaper a handful of times and they’ve ALWAYS rewritten my headlines. Literally every single time.
I cancelled my 10 $ montly donation to doctors without borders for a 10$ subcription to tyt^^.
I think you have the right idea, P. Because while private charity is well-intentioned and does treat some of the suffering, it never tackles the root causes of suffering. Only politics offers a hope – however distant this may often seem – of addressing the fundamental, systemic causes. (I realized this long ago and shifted all my donations from private-charitable to democratic-socialist causes).
And TYT may not be “politics” in the strictest sense, but like all media it has a political role to play, in potentially holding the powerful to account and in other ways besides. And this is especially true with so-called “alternative” media, which moves in opposition to the dominant political consensus and which is not subservient to corporations and the wealthy.
awesome
I’ve been contemplating the same thing, because diversity with your charities can’t be a bad thing right? :)
Just posted on Facebook:
CNN Headline: How Trump and Sanders tapped America’s economic rage
Then it goes: “Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders might be poles apart in their politics and temperament, but they are voicing visceral feelings of economic disenfranchisement and alienation among pessimistic voters who feel they’ve been ignored for years.”
What a bunch of nonsense. I am certainly not disenfranchised nor feel alienated but when the system is rigged to work for the few, (which it turns out, I happen to be to some extent), I certainly feel this is not fair. The playing field needs to be evened out. I am not talking about perfect equality. Nobody wants that. But when the color of your skin, your gender, etc decides how successful you will be in life (statistically), something has to be done.
And to everybody that is worried about the changes Sanders might bring, think about that: We live in a society that is based on consumption & personally, I think this is great. I am capitalist. But when 10’s of millions of Americans can’t contribute simply because they are too poor, we are effectively missing out on a huge opportunity to be even richer. Give 1% of the GDP to the richest of this world, that money gets transferred into a bank account. Give that same 1% to the poorest, that money goes into buying things they desperately need thus boosting the economy. Not only Sanders is the right choice because he promotes fairness, he is also the right choice for the economy.
Now, Trump is the polar opposite of Sanders. While Sanders appeals to best in us, Trump instead appeals to the worst in us.
I’ve noticed more and more Bernie ads on TYT, both during the live stream and as banners on the site. Although I’m definitely a Bernie supporter, I am very concerned about these…
Is TYT getting paid by Bernie’s campaign to run those ads? If so, why is this not being disclosed. I know TYT has supported Bernie for a long time, but would getting paid for these ads would be a major conflict of interest.
Running political ads can be a slippery slope — one I’d hate to see TYT go down.
They have to disclose being sponsored, but airing an ad during a commercial break is a different thing.
Any network can do it.
This has been years ago, but Cenk one time said that, for example, they have ads on their YouTube videos per their arrangement with YouTube, just like other YouTube channels (e.g., that elephant and donkey for Social Security, which I think is an AARP ad). But, he made it clear that they basically have no control over those ads, so the Bernie ads are probably due to some metrics on what people who visit TYT also are looking at, just like the ads that pop up on your Facebook page after you Google something. So, I’m taking Cenk at his word, but that’s the explanation he gave.
Yawn..
Hear me now quote me later. Sanders is ovah!!
Also Sanders is not a real socialist. I used to vote for the Socialist Party inthe Netherlands, now that is socialist party :-)
How can I buy a TYT tshirt?

Hey Cenk and John, I just became member just a while ago and I hope I’m the 10,000th member. I’m a big fan of yours and a big Sanders supporter. Even though am from the Philippines and just first found about TYT in You Tube now am hooked.
They don’t poll the Independents, that’s part of why the polls are wrong.
I want to dispel the notion this phrase will not become a t-shirt.
I want to dispel with this notion that people who dispel with this notion do not know what they are doing. They know EXACTLY what they are doing.
Alas, with story about Iran’s missile test we have another case where TYT’s methodology on preparing a story is lacking critical thinking and multi-sourcing.
At no point in any photos of the missile you can see any marking about “Israel Must Be Wiped out”, and Iran’s agency never confirmed/said anything about it, unlike what John has implied.
So while, of course, Iran does develop those missiles to ward off possible aggression from USA-backed Israel — as the commandment correctly quoted in the source — the part about markings has no real basis.
Be wary of MSM manipulations about this. There is still HUGE pro-war lobby in USA. Iran has no plans to attack Israel. It is Israel who has plans to attack Iran and lobbies it in USA for many years already. Ballistic missile is a way to develop a deterrent. Sadly for Iran, their clerical management has long banned nuclear weapons as “ungodly”, so they never really tried to develop it — all while it would be much better deterrent than any non-nuclear weapons. (For comparison, Pakistan had no such philosophical stance against nuclear weapons, so they developed it.)
Also, Cenk listed Putin among the right-wingers — which is ORWELLIAN, because Putin is internationalist and supports all major religions. Total opposite of Trump, Netanyahu, Erdogan (there is no way even theoretically imagine that Russia would ban Twitter or YouTube, or jail thousands who insult Putin, or raids against huge opposition media like Echo Moskvy, RBC, Kommersant, Vedomosti, or Putin calling in rage random newspapers to fire certain journalists — all of which happens in Turkey, where Erdogan thinks of himself as Sultan of New Ottoman Empire).
By the way, not only Putin is not far-right himself, he actively fights with those segments of political/social spectre. Russian neo-Nazis like Tesak (google him) get to go to jail, not on television as it happens, in, say, USA-supported regime in Ukraine.
There, the new “authorities” has sent army against people of the East that were still aligned with legal authorities. The “government” is now headed by corrupt criminal oligarch Poroshenko, who is StateDep’s “our Ukraine’s insider” (as Wikileaks show), and it officially employs gangs like Azov regiment with Waffen SS insignia. Regular torch marches are held. Communist party is banned, their books and offices were burnt.
I doubt that Cenk will ever tell the story on “CIA: Undermining and Nazifying Ukraine Since 1953”: http://www.strategic-culture.org/news/2016/01/08/cia-undermining-and-nazifying-ukraine-since-1953.html
— this is what all USA’s governments did, including beloved Kennedy and Obama; Hillary will certainly continue neocon/neolib “regime change” policies to overthrow governments with use of jihadi terrorists against secular non-sectarian governments (like in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan) or neo-Nazis (like in Ukraine, Chile and many others).
I read and appreciate all of your comments. Sounds like you know a lot about foreign policy and I certainly don’t know enough to challenge you. I would point out though that the summary above says:
‘Iran test fired a round of ballistic missiles and put “Israel should be wiped off the earth,” in Hebrew on two of them.’
So you wouldn’t actually see “Israel Must Be Wiped out,” because the writing would have been in Hebrew. If you knew this and you speak/write Hebrew, I apologize – please disregard this comment.
I am not a smooth writer, so I probably was not clear enough. Yes, I know that the inscription is claimed to be in Hebrew. My point was that there are pictures of this missile’s launch, and no inscriptions of this or any other phrase on it are seen (in Hebrew or otherwise). The source that TYT took for the story conflated the part that comes from Iranians (it was official statement) that had nothing about any inscriptions, and the part that comes from nowhere — about the inscription.
If TYT’s methodology on processing news would be installed, and a rigorous one, it would require producers (such as Irina) to double/triple check a story to see which part of it come from initial source, which are not, and whether added parts (like about the inscription) can be confirmed through other sources.
