  1. I liked Ben on the debate coverage. The back and forth and dissenting opinion is invaluable to the authenticity of TYT and providing excellent information to the audience. I liked Ana and everyone’s point that young people get their info from the internet, that they are higher information voters and news watchers, and that they can and do verify information from multiple sources. It sounds good but it’s not always the case though. I invest a ton of time into watching TYT each week and after that there isn’t much time left to go across the internet to verify any or all of the stories you present to me. I trust TYT and that’s why I’m a member and I watch you religiously. I make my own judgments and decisions based on what you present, I don’t take it at face value, but that means I only look into other sources for stories that I am dubious of.
Ben presented a side that I didn’t know had a case to make. I wasn’t going to check every mainstream media outlet and the tertiary blogs and feeds to verify Cenk’s claim. It fit the narrative of what sounds right to me so I accepted it at face value. In this situation, I would have been entirely oblivious if not for Ben.

  2. The MEDIA’S manufacturing of a PERCEIVED REALITY WORKS and is extremely EFFICIENT. The same way ADVERTISEMENT WORKS.

Ben has somewhat of a RIGHT WING bias. He’s not a right winger, but he is MOST DEFINITELY more establishment friendly than Cenk and Ana.

Ben brought out the best in Cenk, and Ana gave a good save and did not compromise her positions (Tons of respect to Ana). JOHN IADAROLA was a shameless spineless suck up (not at all Ben’s fault).

Ben was somewhat awkward in this segment. I respect him very much, but he’s defence of the media was not in place, and is simply WRONG. + In these elections people need to be happy when Sanders does well. Ben TOTALLY DESTROYED the buzz (which is important).

Ben + Cenk/Ana/Jimmy/Wess = Awesome show. Ben+Elliot/John= You guys better save TYT’s dignity and cancel the show for the day. Elliot and John are suck ups when Ben is on. Say what you will about Cenk, but he remains the more accommodating and pluralistic one of the pair. Even if, at times, Ben has REALLY good points.

    1. P.s With exception to Nate Silver specifically. I think Ben was right on that one. But not on the media in general. He downplayed the impact of their influence.

  3. Next time can we please have Jimmy, Wes, Michael, Steve, or Dave on the panel instead of Ben? I wish there was less inter-panel conflict, more celebration for Bernie, and more discussion surrounding *how* the polls got it wrong and if we can trust polling being done on future contests.

I still love you TYT and enjoying all of the in-depth coverage thus far.

    1. Nah, I’d rather have some realism than a constant Bernie party. Ben grounds the panel, which is necessary. I agree, I wish that there could be more Sanders celebration, but Cenk kept steering the conversation back to the media bias and headlines. I lean more for Cenk on the issue, but I get tired of hearing the same perspective from TYT over and over. If you want to live in a bubble and push away differing opinions, then fine. I think having differing opinions adds to the conversations. I love any panel that includes Ben Mank because it’s guaranteed to give us more than one opinion on the topic, and people that hate on him really just want to live in an echo chamber bubble.

  4. What Ben is missing hugely is the vilification of Hillary is substantive and based of her actual behaviour. The belittling of Sanders is almost entirely nonsensical.

    1. That’s exactly right. The criticism that Hillary receives from the left is based on her actual record as a US Senator and her ties to wall street. The criticism Ben is referring to is lunatics on the right who think she’s the devil incarnate who personally killed Vince Foster! Those people are idiots and should be ignored.

  5. where’s part 2? I just got through Cenk and Ben’s huge argument. I want to see what happened when they came back… argh!
