BBC and BuzzFeed claim that Tennis matches are being fixed. According to their research, billionaires would pay off a player to throw off the games. Ed Majerczk is being investigated because he hacked into celebrities iClouds, which resulted into The Fappening. Obama invested4 billions dollars on self driving cars in Silicon Valley.

A blogger in Sydney, Australia, did an experiment on Tinder. She wore hijab for one profile and “normal” clothes for the other. She wanted to see how many matches she would get on each profile. She want to prove a point of bigotry between how Muslims are not matched as many as other religions.

    Sorry, but intentions are not good enough, They are nice, but most of the atrocities of history have been carried out with professed good intentions. You can have great intentions and commit serious offense. No way can you give that much weight on intentions and make a clear, concise analysis. Ridiculous.

  5. Flint was under the control of a government appointed emergency manager when the decision to switch to the Flint river was made. Maybe elected officials would have also made that bad decision but emergency managers aren’t accountable to the voters and are only concerned about the bottom line. I think this is a significant part of the story that shouldn’t be overlooked. As a Michigan resident I voted against the emergency manager laws in 2012 and as a direct slap in the face Snyder reinstated the law shortly after that vote.

    1. Late to the party but yeah absolutely on the not overlooking part. It looks to me like an election message just sitting there waiting to be siphoned out full blast. Want your local vote stripped so they can poison the water to maybe save a buck (wrong again Bob) and cover it up while your kids get brain damage? Vote GOP.

      And I’d file the caveat about the sidelined elected leaders possibly doing the same, well crime if I may, in the overly cautious category.

  6. 1. I’m a secular Palestinian and would never think of having a relationship with a woman wearing a head scarf. More importantly, most hijab wearing women would never consider having a relationship with someone out of their faith.

    2. The only way to get rid of the hijab (which I despise and want to see no more) is to restrain from attacking the people wearing it and to allow them into the main stream. Alienation creates a fertile ground for stubbornness.

    3. Attempts by the secular right brigades (including right wing pundits like Nawaz) to demonise, alienate and shame muslim women into submission (religion does not have a monopoly on submission) might just be the WORST secularising tactic ever. It is a near perfect tactic, if one’s objective is to foster stubbornness (as I believe the secular right’s real objective is).
