It wasn’t all Donald Trump at all, it was 1/3rd Trump, 1/3rd on all other candidates stances in the face of “Obama is Muslim” and Islamophobia which was a tangent, and 1/3rd on money in politics which didn’t even reference Trump. Certainly interested in other stories like Cornel West endorsing Sanders, but people are too hyperbolic claiming this hour 1 was all Trump.

The clearly bigoted man in the video said something along the lines of “There’s a problem with these muslims, they have these training camps, when are we going to get rid of them?’
Cenk then labels all criticism of islam as racist by indicating that the entire other side is arguing to ‘get rid of all muslims’, talk about extrapolation!
But I get a little frustrated at their lack of consistent logic, they don’t have to stoop to such low arguments.

I can replace MANY other groups with Muslims and have it be much more accepted. For example, “There’s a problem with these Nazi’s, they have all these concentration camps, when are we going to get rid of them” or to use Cenk’s words, “When are we going to get rid of these Nazi’s?” Or you can use almost any negative term: Sexist, Racist, Sadist, Masochist, or Death Cult, Criminal, Politician, Banker, Traitor Etc Etc.
Many label these qualities on religion in general, completely separate from Islam. The thing I think is ironic about anti-islam from christians is that they can find absurdity in certain peoples beliefs but not their own.
There’s a problem with uneducated American bigots who want to discriminate against Muslims. Their short-sighted and ignorant opinions create strife, distrust and incite violence instead of fostering community. Let’s get rid of them.
That’s true, doesn’t mean there isn’t a problem with Islam in their treatment of women, gays, apostates, slaves etc. I’m fighting for the women and children who are hostages in Muslim societies who will be tortured and killed if they speak against the faith. I think that is a bigger issue than muslim tolerance in the West. Do Bigots exist on both side? yes. Should we ignore them? no. Should we conflate real criticism of islam with radical calls to violently expel them? no. The truth that Cenk will never admit is that he could never criticize Islam in a theocracy and get away with it. Islam is not tolerant. Liberalism is tolerance..But to be a tolerant of intolerance is a liberal failing That’s the difference between religions and how seriously people actually hold their religious beliefs (especially in deserts where they have nothing else to do)

He lives in the US, where he can criticize Islam and does. He also knows that most Muslims are not inherently dangerous, because he knows them as people not a scare tactic buzzword. So criticisms of “Islam” are not just wrong factually, but contribute to the narrative used by the US empire to wage war, and help to divide the population internally when an uneducated, easily frightened people start to go on mob witch hunts of innocent people guilty by association.
Islam is neither tolerant or intolerant. It’s a religion, which means it has about as many interpretations as it has followers, like any religion. What it also has is a violent colonial history of resource extraction in many Muslim dominant nations that lead to social fracture, confusion and economic and political chaos. When the carefully cultivated identity with the state is eroded, that leaves tribalism and religious identity as what’s left. When the US empire falls, you will see the same thing happen here, as “American” is turned into “Texan” or “Southern Baptist” and those identities become the prominent ones.

Bernie Sanders has a problem appealing to black voters. About a week ago, Cornel West, a prominent black voice in the political world, a big critique of Barack Obama endorsed him and has been making speeches on his behalf.
