Cenk and Ana. After 47 Republican Senators sent an undermining letter to Iran about the negotiations process, the criticism came down hard from the President to fellow Republicans to pundits. Video of Obama calling the move ironic. Joe Biden wrote a scathing response to the move, as well. Republican Bob Corker disagreed with this move because he wanted to undermine it in an official way, not by sending rouge letters to Iran. Freshman Sen Tom Cotton went on MSNBC to double down on his position to send a letter to Iranian leaders. Coincidentally, Tom Cotton is set to appear at a conference put on by lobbyists for defense contractors, contractors that have a lot of money to make on another war in the Middle East. Cotton also promoted the idea of striking Iran’s nuclear facilities because Israel did it to Iraq and Syria. Video of Cotton claiming that the only deal he is willing to accept from Iran is complete disarmament, and the threat of war needs to be on the table.
Wikipedia is joining a lawsuit against the NSA over their spying program. The dispute between the ATF and the NRA over the potential ban of armor piercing bullets for citizens has ended with the NRA on top. The ATF backed down off of the ban proposal after the NRA made a big lobbying push to get purchased elected officials to support their case. A Senate bill is being proposed that would allow military vets to use medicinal marijuana in states that already allow it. Since the federal government doesn’t recognize it as a medical treatment, vets can’t get this prescription through the VA or military doctors. George Washington University is making students go through sensitivity training when it comes to the gay community. One campus group is rejecting the move, declaring that gays should get sensitivity training to respect Christians. The group is also inviting Rick Santorum to speak.
