John, David Rubin, and Jimmy host TYT. ISIS continues to get more barbaric with their executions of prisoners as they’ve released a video of a Jordanian pilot being burned alive. TYT has decided to not show any videos or pictures of the murder. Jimmy talks about what ISIS may be trying to achieve in doing this. Jordan has promised to get revenge, ramping up the violence. Talk about what the U.S. is supposed to do about this. The disagreement over children’s measles vaccinations continues after Chris Christie started the political debate. Videos of the CDC Director warning of the public dangers of avoiding vaccinations. The division of politicians on this subject doesn’t simply fall along political party lines, Video of Obama advocating vaccinations. Rubin and Jimmy want Obama to say it with authority. Megyn Kelly & BIll O’Reilly also believe in mandatory vaccines. Videos of some politicians that are not buying the fact that vaccines are important and necessary. Rep Sean Duffy, wants parents to make the call, as some don’t fit with some Americans’ values. John outlines Christie’s back and forth comments on this subject. Video of Rand Paul equating the parental decision to vaccinate to freedom. Paul also claimed that vaccines can cause mental disorders in kids.

Don Lemon tweeted a picture of his measles shot scar on his arm to start the discussion on his CNN show. It turns out that it was the scar from his smallpox vaccine, and Twitter gave him hell for getting it wrong. Jeb Bush, an opponent of marijuana legalization, is being exposed as a big weed head and bully in high school. Rubin defends Jeb for his past and the framing of the story to expose his bullying ways. Jimmy talks about how different weed is to the addictive nature of alcohol.

  1. The anti vaccinations thing is actually because PEOPLE ARE SICK OF BEING PROFITEERED OFF OF and the republicunts are using that to their advantage. I really hope people here listen to Jimmy Dore’s podcasts because Jimmy is coming off like one of those people (only because he was profiteered off of 5 to many times). Not once with Jimmy it was at least 5 times. Luckily he has a second older brother he can run to when he feels like he is being profiteered off of. Then his brother just threatens him with their moms meatloaf. I enjoy that story. I don’t think Jimmy wants me sharing this (only because I don’t know if it’s edited out of the podcast). The only people who would probably ever read this comment is Cenk if anybody anyways. I just hope Jimjam doesn’t do a 180 and go against all vaccines. Just the ones that are for profiteering purposes. I also wish he spoke up about how the HPV vaccine IS A PROFITEERING SO CALLED VACCINE. He knows that.

  2. I just saw the segment about the Don Lemon photo claiming that the scar was from MMR vaccine. Actually it is not. That kind of scar was left by a tuberculosis vaccine (BCG).
I have one because it was widely used in Argentina when I was a kid (it requires a negative reaction skin test). Apparently it is not used as widely in the US.

  3. Jimmy is a hypocrite regarding vaccinations. Compare his statements on this show (@ ~26 minutes into the show) to his statements on the postgame show (@~7 min) from December 10th, 2014. During the Dec 10th postgame, Gina Grad admits to not getting the flu vaccine. I would be interested in knowing the TYT hosts who receive the flu vaccine annually, and if they have vaccinated their children during the recommended schedule.

  4. Nice to know that Dave Rubin is “so over” Obama. The president who has done more for the expansion of gay rights than any in history and Rubin is “over” him. The repeal of Don’t Ask/Don’t Tell and DOMA, the mandate that gay spouses be allowed into hospital sick rooms, the proposal in the new budget to extend SS benefits to gay couples. I could go on but what’s the point? The glass is always half empty when it comes to Obama and TYT.

  5. I love 2015 with TYT. Firstly, it seems you guys have finally nailed the tricaster settings, and secondly the uploads are timely. Even if The Conversation isn’t around. Good work Dave K.

  6. I found the first hour to be a fingernails-on-blackboard moment. John’s shows are usually pretty good, but things were out of control from the beginning. Jimmy ruins it for me, and Dave went along with him. Too bad
Frankly, some of Cenk’s shows have also been useless rants. I’m always on the cusp of dropping my membership, but I’m edging closer to the edge.

  7. Regarding the vaccination issue, there are approaches in between “Freedom” and “Mandatory Vaccinations”. Try an economic/incentive model with a fee associated w/ not vaccinating kids (say $200 per child per year). This should apply regardless of whether they are medically able to take the vaccine or not as it represents the risk that you are exposing society to. Optionally states could provide for low-income families (possibly this can be tied to showing medical necessity).

In my mind the issue is people aren’t being held responsible for their actions. Freedom is not freedom from responsibility. If your actions, regardless of intent, lead to harm you need to take responsibility for that.

  8. I enjoy a constant flow of new, honest, and controversial information and joined to get it the way it’s delivered in the first hour and don’t understand why Cenk is the only one to do it. Seen Ben do it and thought he did a great job. Don’t know why we can’t get that format with someone who can deliver it when Cenk is gone on business from his business. A discussion hour (otherwise known as BS) doesn’t work and is boring in comparison. Please get a backup that can do it. I vote for Ben, but if not him, somebody that can make it happen.

    1. Wow I am the opposite of yourself, I much prefer the discussion hour, or two, and don’t really like Cenk’s solo first hour. Different strokes I guess.

      1. And I’m a vote for both. I don’t like only the one format. i like that it changes. Cenk can get me fired up like nobody else on the show. Cenk can bring me to tears and cheers. Cenk also makes annoying sex creeper comments and thinks they’re funny or cute. Cenk can get a lot repetitive his limited repertoire of mannerisms and exclamations.. But that’s also why Cenk is good with messaging, and it’s important that he stay on message, but I can also get sick of it. I see why it’s important, but it’s nice to have a variety. The same is true for just about everyone on the show. I like them sometimes, and sometimes I don’t.

The only one on staff that I hate and wish no longer worked there is Dave Rubin. How someone who works for TYT could ever try and justify Israel’s murdering of children is beyond me, and I’m reminded of it every time he brings up some Muslim country and says something like “you can’t negotiate with these people”. Yeah, the barbarians in THAT country are just too barbaric to deal with, while the US kills children in 20 countries with secret night raids, drone attacks and special forces. So, you can’t negotiate with someone who cuts off heads or burns someone alive, but when the US uses a cluster bomb to turn an entire Yemeni family into dog meat for no reason, they don’t lose their negotiation status? I fucking hate Dave Rubin.

        1. False equivalence with Muslims and western governments, as usual with you.

Ana Kasperian is the worst host they have. Screeching voice, empty head, repeats the other panelists points. She adds … NOTHING.

              1. Intent? The intent of the US? I don’t ignore it. Their intent is to rule the world, has been since they looked around at the end of World War II and were the only power left largely intact with all rivals devastated. If you think the US has good intentions around the world, then you’re a child, and I’m not sure what to say to you. You just need to read more history. No state has good intentions. States are only interested in power and survival.

    2. Michael Shure would also be great in the first hour.
That’s amazing andythebrave, I thought the consenus has been that stories with editorial in the first hour was something that made TYT popular.

  9. Dragon claw was badass, John is the best fill in host, he should be the primary host when Cenk is gone and then rotate others with him.

    1. I’m a fan of the Young Turks because of the The Young Turk. Ben is really good too. The show is so much better when they are the hosts. I liked the solution of doing some of the shows on the road when Cenk was in DC.

  10. F-K this man, not another week of fill-ins… almost pointless being a member.

Someone should upload this to the pirate bay, if they can maintain the daily responsibility, this way, we don’t need to be a member or pay money to watch D. Ruben, TYT’s Sam Harris.

      1. I’ve noticed you have a sensitivity to this muslim haters, as mel gibson would say, do you have a dog in this fight? lol
