Ben, Ana, and Iadarola hosting. The Senate passed an amendment to the Keystone Pipeline bill that declared climate change is not a hoax. Only one Senator voted against it. Sen Jim Inhofe voted in favor of this amendment, but took to the Senate floor later in the day to call climate change a hoax. BP tweeted that climate change is indeed real, but it has been taken down. Additionally, Mitt Romney admitted that he’s one of those Republicans that believes climate change is real. GOP Senators overwhelmingly rejected amendments that used the term “significantly” when describing human contributions to climate change. Ben points out that Romney and Jeb Bush met this week, possibly to talk about their separate plans to run for president. After Joni Ernst responded to the SOTU address with a poor upbringing story, it has been discovered that her family received nearly $500K in farm subsidies. She also debated that she is against subsidies while campaigning. Video of Mitt Romney’s ad that targeted Mike Huckabee with a Willie Horton-style message, that he never ran in the 2008 campaign. Ben talks about the horrible details of the serial rapist Huckabee released in Arkansas.
Video of Steve Doocy’s kid, Peter reporting on a hurricane before falling into a hole, getting stuck. Bill O’Reilly responded to Obama’s push for minimum wage hike by claiming its for teenagers that are getting their 1st job, not people supporting their families.

Alright!!!! Ana in the first hour! We get to hear her repeat an already made point with her high pitched voice and generally waste time and take away from the show!
Man, I can’t wait until someone starts torrenting TYT content.
My guess is they’re playing games with the numbers on minimum wage. When they say it’s roughly 3 million Americans that are making minimum wage, my guess is they’re talking about people making the federal minimum wage. However, in discussions of raising the minimum wage we must not simply think of the people actually making the bare minimum, we must instead think of all the people making amounts between the minimum and the new proposed minimum because those are the people who will benefit and be raised up by such a change. My guess is that number is more around 10 million or 20 million people.
Cenk~
For Fuck Sake .I’m working on forgiving that boring
football rant.
I guess some viewers care.
Oh, well. Gotta get used to being bored for another week plus
until we get past the Stupor Bowl.
Give us Camel Toes instead~!
On the minimum wage thing:
Here’s the dumb thing about Republicans and their minimum wage talk. They seem to all collectively think that the world is like a video game. Sometimes I wish it were so, too. Ever play the Sims? You get a really low-paying job, but if you work at it, and improve yourself, you will always get a promotion and higher paycheck.
Now, I’m sure this happens if you like, work at.. I dunno, an ad agency or a wall street office, where you bring in accounts, but literally NO ONE I KNOW is under the impression that better work performance means raises and promotions. No one thinks that. There is no delusion, no incentive. Where I work, you get a promotion (and raise) when one becomes available. If you work minimum wage, because it is an available job, you are not really expecting to work your way up to CEO. You need to work with what you can get.
In many places, you only move up if you know the right people. Most of these Republicans grew up knowing the right people, so they can’t relate.
Well said, well said. Not only who you know, but if you keep your mouth shut and not criticize the powers that be. It is disgusting, instead of promoting freedom of thought and critical thinking, it is ingrained in your ethic that you need to stick to the process and fall in line. It starts in pre-school. I worked at an ISO certified company…I’m a little bitter.
Cenk IS Mr.Charisma! His funky stand up pre-show with its swamp lighting was fantastic. He is so natural in front of the camera, any camera!!…..a ten minute segment and a POSTGAME!!! thank you,Cenk
Ben, in response to. “How did she win?”…Bruce Braley was her opponent. As an Iowan, there was not much choice, we were fucked either way. I voted third party, rather than support either. I am participating in discussions in my local newspaper, and there are fears of her being the next Michele Bachmann for sure. I commented that Reps. need to stick with Goehmert, Graham, Cruz, and Rubio as their talking heads, so Iowa doesn’t get stereotyped like Michele and Sarah. I mean, for cryin’ out loud one Steve King is enough!
Braley isn’t that bad, but he certainly didn’t run a good campaign. He was just so dull, and Ernst was a total nut case. In Iowa, a candidate doesn’t have to sway a bunch of people to vote for them. They need to rile up their base to get out and vote. Braley just didn’t do that. Because of the lack of liberal turn out in SE Iowa, we lost nearly all of our races. :(
Such is the mid-term, eh? The old Fox news viewers get out and vote, while the young libs are busy making a living. Sorry, from what I saw of Braley on Youtube vids, that wasn’t happening. But yeah Joni Ernst! I live in Branstad’s hometown, and I shit you not, I walked to another part of town not long before the election, across a main road into a la-di-da part of town and saw Ernst, Gassman, Branstad yard signs all over and literally said to myself out loud, “I am in the wrong part of town”. I’m tired of this type of government where I “rely” on a nutjob to represent me, It’s outdated and is in serious need of an overhaul.
Maybe she won because a bunch of people threw their votes away by voting for a third party rather than making an actual difference by voting for the lesser of two evils. Don’t like the lesser of your two evils? Awesome, now you’ve subjected yourself and the rest of the country to the greater evil…
Primaries are the place to support third party or alternatively minded candidates. The actual election is where you put your vote where it will have the best chance to make some difference. Your ideological purity has given us a worse reality.
Keep thinking you aren’t part of the problem.
You are perfectly named, obsolescence, since you’re thinking is so obsolete. Your comment is the comment of a slave mind. “If you don’t question master, then you won’t get beat”. If you keep accepting that you can’t do anything but vote for the lesser of two evils, then you’ll keep getting nothing but bad choices. You don’t blame people who voted for a 3rd party for the fact that there weren’t better choices., Blame the people who keep voting for lesser evils. And especially blame people who never do anything but show up every couple of years and pull a lever for corporate whore A or corporate whore B, the two acceptable phonies who were pre-selected by the money election that occurs years before the pretend people’s election.
That’s not democracy. Democracy is actual work, and when you don’t work on it, it goes away. People seem to have forgotten what a democracy is. It doesn’t mean you get a chance to vote if the candidates are chosen for you. That’s marketing. That’s coke or pepsi. A Democracy starts years before an election. You form a group that sends someone from your own ranks, from your own community to a local office, you have a group of local people from your town that meet regularly and keep an eye on that person and make sure they do what you all agreed was needed together when you raised them up from nothing to be your candidate, then you do it again and again and again with different candidates. You keep growing your local group, and make connections with other local groups. You build a movement of people who share goals and ideals and you start launching larger campaigns from the smaller ones.
What you don’t do is apply arbitrary,, false, and meaningless labels to yourself like “Democrat” or “Republican”. Those are just marketing labels for money raising. They don’t have any connection to values or issues. It’s just a sticker for you to be stuck with, so you don’t have to think at all. It’s as arbitrary as religion, just something you are born into, that someone sticks you with before you’re able to think for yourself, and sometimes change in later life, but are still just meaningless labels. All those southern racists used to be Democrats. Republicans freed the slaves. It doesn’t mean anything. Real democracy is work. Citizenship doesn’t come with just rights, but responsibilities, and part of that responsibility is seeing through this bullshit. We don’t need more branding. We need concrete ideas by individuals who don’t get to hide behind their sticker.
Thank you, you got it. I wanted my vote, my voice to say, “I’m sick of it.” I expressed that in numberless phone polls, and when I bundled up all the campaign flyers and told the Post Office to return to sender. I voted for Jill Stein in 2012 as well. Fuck the establishment.
