Black Brunch Disrupts Gentrification As Usual

“Black Brunch” protests began in New York City this past weekend targeting white complicity in acts of bigotry and racism through police brutality. The sit-ins, inspired by the civil rights movement of the 1950s and the 1960s, were staged to disrupt business as usual in predominantly non-black neighborhoods and to honor the lives of African Americans killed by police in America including Eric Garner and Michael Brown. We take a look at video of the demonstration, in this Lip News clip with Elliot Hill and Mark Sovel.
