• Steve gives an update on the status of the studio construction plans and the hurdles that have been encountered.
• Steve and Dave talk about the vision for the future of TYT going forward.
• Conservation and environmental groups are starting to donate to campaigns of “moderate Republicans” for the 2014 midterm election cycle. Dave and Steve provide their analysis as to why this might be the case.
• Mainstream southern Democrats are using racially charged ad campaigns for the midterm elections. Is this needlessly inflammatory and crossing the line or is this a true and fair tactic?
• Steve and Dave talk about the additions to the work force and production value at TYT over the past three years.

I love Jimmy better then Cenk. I also prefer Sam Seder over Cenk but I picked this post game to subscribe to over Sam’s because there are more people’s opinions here. I like the panda bear and the sports channel. Also Cenk is going to have to leave TYT someday. We mine as well get used to it now.
Thanks a lot for doing this show, love the behind the scenes info, please keep it going.
Yeah i love these inside baseball friday postgames
Classic Dave. So bitter over the puns at Current. I love bitter Dave.
I think it’s really commendable that TYT is hiring more talent as they grow. Unfortunately, too many progressive media organizations still rely on largely unpaid internships and unpaid journalism/blogging to operate. To see that TYT holds themselves to the same high standards that they advocate for other organizations is not only refreshing, but gives a little hope to industry professionals who don’t want to sell their souls and precious labor to corrupt organizations to make ends meet. Steve Oh is right, TYT could easily have remained a simple, low-production quality vlog platform for a long time, but they’re upping their game and doing in (for the most part) the right way.
Also, I can’t wait to think up some new political puns to tweet to Cenk.
TYT is spreading itself too thin. Politics is the core of the show. You’re straying too far from the original concept. TYT need to cut back, become “lean and mean,” and put that money into Investigative Journalism or some other focused target.
Really, we need another show about fashion?!!
Steve Oh here. You bring up good points and we constantly discuss them internally. Are we spreading ourselves too thin? Definitely! Cenk alone is spread way too thin, doing a daily 2 hour show, the post game, plus the interviews, plus TYT Old School podcast and on top of all that, he helps me on the business side AND he works tirelessly on Wolf-Pac. Yeah, that’s definitely a lot.
That said, we want to grow to a full media organization where we cover everything, including fashion. Cenk and I have little interest in fashion, but some folks here love fashion and for them, doing a fashion show is a huge source of personal satisfaction. That show was sponsored by Tradesy so we didn’t spend money on it that we could have spent elsewhere.
As for investigative journalism, we need a huge budget for that, but it’s something that we are working on very very diligently. When we did get a bit of funding from the MacArthur Foundation couple years ago, we spent that on investigative journalism and made those documentaries about Stockton’s bankruptcy, the drug busts in a Texas border town, and forced sterilization of women in prison. We’d like to do more. A lot more.
The people that say they want to only see Cenk on TYT are usually the same people who say they’re going to unsubscribe because Cenk said something they don’t agree with.
I’ve watched TYT since it was a 3 hour show many years back. I didn’t become a member back then, and when I did it wasn’t just because Cenk. Actually, I agree with Michael Shure more than Cenk, even though he can be a bit boring from time to time. Ben usually makes incredibly great points when it comes to social issues.
The issue is not that TYT tries to expand — so of expansion in the future might help the political part of the show (liking possibly hiring reporter in Washington, though it is a long story).
The issue is quality of political reporting. For example, on Thursday, 30.10.2014, both Cenk and John have spread lies about conflict between Georgia and South Ossetia in 2008 — AGAIN.
“Read the damn EU report”:

So, here we have Irina Nichita, as producer, FAILING at her job not giving Cenk and John even basic facts that were perverted in the media bubble of Western media. And, Cenk and John have failed, totally being tools for brainwashing.
Thus the issue with this is that all three mentioned people are not able to break from Western media bubble and hence unable to see real picture and misleading audience.
ANY PLANS TO CORRECT THAT?
International politics coverage was HORRIBLE this year. On things like conflict in Ukraine, it was Orwellian propaganda by StateDep, delivered by TYT, unquestioned. This is not the way you “challenge government” or even simply provide quality content. Knowingly or not, TYT was a tool.
More on how Georgia’s conflict is perverted in Cenk’s reporting: https://tytnetwork.com/2014/10/30/young-turks-october-30-2014-hour-1-2/#comment-87995
This coverage is amazing work of Ministry of Truth, where lies and truth absolutely changed places. I literally can not come up with an example of any more brazen false history that Western media brainwashed people into believing in.
Imagine media reporting that USA have attacked Japan on Pearl Harbour, not vise versa, and you will get the picture what Western media have done in regards to this conflict.
The funny thing is that there are videos on TYT channel with Cenk discussing the conflict in 2008 almost accurately. But by now he has completely forgot his own reporting: his memory of events was rewritten by manipulative articles he reads.
Another example is Cenk’s recent statement that Russia (rebels) has started the war in Ukraine — which is also upside-down to the truth, as there were no victims of rebels’ activity until illegal authorities issued criminal order to attack people on 7th April and it was took into effect on 14th April. No one was killed by rebels during governmental buildings captures that has happened in a month and half prior to that.
You again? Yeesh
No, that is: *You* again? Yeesh.
Ok so the bulk of the employees work on the main show. Would it be possible to have one of them be responsible for making sure the links for the members are working? Especially when Cenk is out of town as that seems to be when the issue comes up the most (maybe Cenk checks the links when he’s in town).
Agree! Too bad none of the paid TYT staff checks the paying members comments. I actually spoke with TYT employee (sales department) at meet-up and she kept referring to YouTube comments when making the case on how responsive TYT is to their viewers.

TYT doesn’t care about members.
