Ana joins Cenk for SCS. A comedian went after Bill Cosby on stage, accusing him of being a known sexual abuser of women. Rwanda has decided to start screening all travelers from Spain and the U.S. over the Ebola cases. They have also banned travel from West African countries that have been heavily affected. Rapper Cam’ron has started selling ebola masks that have his face on them. One Canadian customer bought $100 of them. An Ohio man made an Ebola joke in reference to his ex-wife while in a casino, so people around him reported him to the police. The part of the casino where he was gambling was quarantined and he was later arrested at his home and bond was set at $10K. A survey of 1000 people showed that 28% admit to being online trolls. Another 23% have admitted to maliciously arguing online with a stranger. The reality of revenge porn scandals have taken a curious turn. More and more women are being busted for posting nude pictures or videos of other women in compromising positions. These women are usually exes of men that are dating the newly exposed one. More of these pictures posted are mistresses of men by their girlfriend or wife. Ana talks about how unrecognizable Renee Zellweger is after all of her plastic surgery. Ana talks about her biggest fear of getting old, and Jayar agrees. A study showed the best cities to live in as a Liberal and Conservative. After seeing both lists of the top 10 for each group, Cenk determines that the Lib cities are so much more enjoyable than the middle-of-nowhere Conservative ones.

Cenk obviously has no idea what he is talking about when he said the other woman has no responsibility. That’s bullshit. If a “woman” wants to sleep with a married man she absolutely has to take some responsibility. Of course the husband is guilty but the idea that women could have an affair with a married man and she is not responsible at all for what she is doing to his wife and children??? Bullshit.

People are fixating on the “rape” part and missing the whole thurst of Hannibal Burress’s bit. Cosby has long been a supporter of respectability politics, and it doesn’t work. He has long criticized people for not adopting a certain way of talking and dressing that will somehow magically allow white people to lose racism, except that the president is wearing suits and talking in the way Cosby wants, and he still has racists who think he’s a Kenyan Muslim Socialist who is trying to take whities money and give it to black people.
So Burress is reaching for an extreme point, the rape allegation, to say, “look asshole, just because you had a successful show in the 80’s and you’re really rich, doesn’t mean you get to judge other people. You’ve had issues too”. It’s just something that may or may not be true, but when someone is being high and mighty, and like Jayar said, letting white people have a token black to point to that they can agree with, you have to take them down a peg. Because pulling up your pants and not cursing will not solve racism. Not talking about racism at all (another Cosby suggestion) is not going to stop racism. Being so calm and happy and making silly faces to sell jello pudding may put some racists at ease for a bit, but then they’ll just think you’re “one of the good ones”.
As in any case of oppressed minorities engaging in struggle in the social sphere, it is totally counter productive to turn on each other. Women being used to call out feminism is the same thing. Martin Luther King calling out Malcom X is the same thing. Liberals who want to have a revolution through shopping instead of direct action shouldn’t call out their more radical brethren. It takes everyone to make a change. You attack from all angles.
Rape claims against William Cosby are nearly guaranteed to be false. There is just no way all thirteen of his alleged victims were so greedy that none of them ever reported anything to police though all of those decades and yet all of sudden they were ready to testify in civil money lawsuit, organized by very well possibly a “Call Soul” lawyer.
Reminds me Michael Jackson’s “victims”, all of whom were documented fraud families, all of whom were shopping for civil money lawyers from the get go (some are even before meeting Jackson, as in the latest case), and accused Jackson of showing them pornography magazines from the future (caught lying on the stand), conspiring to kidnap them to Brazil via hot air balloon and all the other nonsense — while certified nurses and former and acting police officers that has worked on Jackson’s ranch as guards, firemen, medics and maids testified that they never seen any indicators of abuse during the alleged time line, or ever. By the way, the setting Jackson organized in his home is kind of opposite for sex crime/molestation conditions: in the span of three decades, over hundred of staff has worked there that were certified/trained and legally responsible to report sings of child abuse crime under penalty of criminal law, and child protection services were also monitoring through regular visits — none of those ever saw even a hint on abuse. One of the trained maids had her son abused in the past, before working for Jackson, and never witnessed any familiar to her indications of child abuse in Jackson’s ranch either. Also, real child abusers have child porn and tens of victims, not like two with ten years gaps between, both of whom turned out to be documented fraud families. So, in the end, there is no wonder that the jury has voted “not guilty” 144 times (even though there was not a single black person there, and some of the jurors were probably latent racists).
So while theoretically everything is possible, in each case we have to look at details to see how much feasible the accusations are.
why are you victim blaming?
If all of “victims” are embarrassed to report to police, but then all of sudden become courageous coming to civil money trials organized by civil money lawyers, then yes.
I don’t think it’s “guaranteed”. People can not choose to come forward because they expect that they’ll take on a lot of legal bills and the richer person will just crush them with their superior money advantage. Also, rape is embarrassing for victims. Saying “why didn’t you come forward immediately” is the most common tactic used by rapists and the cops who protect them to produce doubt in the mentality of jurors and to keep victims from coming forward.
For Jackson, if you don’t think he raped little boys, you just blind.
You missed the point where I say it is highly doubtful that all thirteen women were embarrassed to report to police all those decades, but were not embarrassed to come for civil money lawsuit.
As to Jackson, there is no evidence he ever participated in abuse, but there is lot of evidence contrary to that.
