Cenk hosting. The ground invasion in Gaza has begun. Other news sources believe that Israel is invading due to Gaza violating the “ceasefire”, although Gaza never agreed to it. American media refuses to admit Israel may be in the wrong. A Malaysian Airlines flight was shot down over Ukraine in Pro-Russian territory. Pro-Russian rebels are attempting to blame Ukrainians, although evidence is waning and flimsy. Previous Ukraine military jets have been shot down by Russians. Vladimir Putin denies shooting down the plane, however he states that if the Ukranians hadn’t started the hostilities in the first place, the plane wouldn’t have been shot down. The four boys killed on a beach in the Gaza strip was reported on by NBC during the aftermath of the incident. NBC later pulled the reporter, Ayman Mohyeldin, from Palestine and replaced him with Richard Engel for very little reason. Mohyeldin had been receiving criticism from pro-Israel sites about being too balanced in his reporting, and thus, pro-Hamas. Cenk discusses the sanitation of American media. Bill O’Reily wants the Berlin Wall along the southern border to keep out illegal immigrants. He ignores the fact that the southern border is nearly 2,000 miles long. Right wingers have advice for people on how to live their lives. Republican candidate Sheila Kihne objects to celebrating at your wedding if you’re already pregnant. Bill O’Reilly gives the poor advice on how to save their money. He advises people not to spend money on “trinkets” and to save loose change which will end up totaling $25k. Tod Akin has written a new book defending his belief that the female body has ways to “shut that down” if it’s “legitimate rape”. Akin went on MSNBC to defend himself. Darrell Issa wants to grill every member of the White House for information. On what? He doesn’t know. How often does our government work? Not much. New study shows that Congress and the Senate work less that 65% of total weekdays in a year. Kim Horcher joins Cenk to do Twitter Storm. What will happen first, peace in the Middle East or Marijuana legalization? Does Cenk ever do the show without wearing pants? What happens to TYT if Cenk dies? Does crowdfunding ever level the playing field between candidates funded by corporations? When is the next TYT arm wrestling competition? Should there be a separation of church and business? What is Cenk’s workout power song? What religion does Cenk think is most badass?

Cenk has actually covered this issue completely biased toward ukraine, has never acknowledged the uncomfortable facts about the ukrainian side, etc. What he isn’t saying, of course, is that even if russians or russian rebels did this, it is almost certainly an accident. They have absolutely no reason to shoot down airliners from malaysia or anywhere really, and it would be a huge disaster for them if they did that and people found out they did it. It could be an accident on the part of the russian separatists or a false flag by the nazi led, US supported ukrainian government.
Once again, Cenk covers the mass murder in gaza with an implicit bias TOWARD ISRAEL! If you don’t believe me, rewind and watch again. Watch as he talks about how hamas is “sons of bitches” and “jackasses” and “stupid”, and then talks about how he struggles to “call it even” and say both sides are at fault, in a media landscape filled with outright pro-israel propaganda. But Cenk, you don’t get it, calling it even is still pro-israel! When an elephant steps on a mouse and you blame both sides, you’re in favor of the elephant! Watch again and see if you see ONE SINGLE WORD of criticism of israel from Cenk. Spoiler alert — you won’t. He calls hamas names but doesn’t even acknowledge that what israel is doing is criminal and morally objectionable, and he even acknowledges that he is concerned by criticism coming from commenters who demand he pledge love for israel and hatred of arabs and muslims, some of them actually being paid by the government of israel! If Cenk had any principles or guts at all he would be absolutely unconcerned about paid or unpaid israeli hasbarah agents demanding he support israel, the same way he is absolutely unconcerned when I demand he acknowledge the humanity of palestinians and tell the truth about what is being done to them in the name of an ethnic state based on race and dna. The fact that he blindly accepts claims by the US government, which may or may not be true, about russian separatists (who are fighting against US funded neo-nazis), after the neo-nazis they are struggling against (who already more than once massacred them) already conducted a false flag operation to discredit their enemies, is sadly anticlimactic after his pro-israel rant.
Cenk has spent all week blasting Israel for what they are doing, so much so that even the progressive viewer base of TYT thinks he’s biased against Israel. I don’t know what you’re smoking. And you think Hamas aren’t stupid and jackasses? That’s the kindest thing you can say about them.
How do you know how stupid they are? If you were in a giant prison, and being regularly attacked, bombed, and having your members assassinated, what exactly would you do? Would you sit there and do nothing, and tell the population of 1.5 million people that you have no ability to resist israel WHATSOEVER?! If you know anything about politics at all, you know that won’t fly, so hamas does the only thing they CAN do. That’s not stupid, that’s called being backed into a corner. Please cite for me examples of cenk stating the facts about israel, that it is an ethnic state, built on racial discrimination and terrorism, that has started every single conflict, and is maintaining a giant racial prison. On this segment, he talks at length and there is NO criticism of israel WHATSOEVER, except for mentioning the occupation, which doesn’t really even hit the meter. Everyone knows there is an occupation and it’s not controversial. Cenk is watching an elephant step on a mouse and he’s blaming both sides but not even speaking a negative word about the elephant, in truth, but just calling the mouse stupid and a jackass for being so small, as you also do yourself. It’s revolting, and anybody who thinks that is too “pro-palestinian” is NO PROGRESSIVE, but is in fact a RACIST and a staunch OPPONENT OF HUMAN RIGHTS.
Sorry Cenk, TYT will lose most subsribers if you are no longer around.
I completely agree. We have seen a great evolution of TYT and the development of some great personalities. I Love Ana, Jimmy, Johnny Pie, Ben, Steve, Dave R., and the many others who guest host, but TYT is not QUITE ready to boom as successfully as it does without Cenk.
Full dissection of TYT’s video: “Malaysian Airliner Shot Down Over Ukraine – Russia’s Doing?”
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU RELY ON SUCH “SOURCES” LIKE CNN (who convinced you for years that Saddam Hussein had WMDs and was responsible for 9/11). Order is by the time of Cenk’s statements in the video:
1) “rebels gave really weak allegations that it was Ukrainians who shot it down” — why is it weak if Ukrainian forces have 27 Buks systems in the area, while rebels do not have even single one (no photo or video of it, and the two Buks rebels found in captured military base were non-working) — and no no other ways to hit the plane on 10 km height? And how rebels can give more evidence or facts at this moment?
2) “if Ukrainians had shot it down then they would have black box” — do you know ANYTHING about air-defence systems at all? Those Buks rockets fly as far as 40 km, which is way beyond rebels-controlled area in the place.
3) “apparently, according to reports, pro-Russian rebels have that [Buks]” — not apparently at all: no photos or videos of rebel’s Buks moving
4) “a launcher similar to the Buk missile system was seen by Associated Press journalists” — the key thing is SIMILAR, because Strela-10 launch system, especially covered, look much like Buk, but it only has range of 3.5 km, not 18 km. AND AP forgot to photo it.
5) “Ukrainian fighter was shot down by a an air-to-air missile from Russian plane” — this is just random lies from junta, no evidence of that at all.
6) “pro-Russia rebels, meanwhile, claimed responsibility” — yes, pro-Russia rebels did because they shot down a lot of military planes. But none above 3.5 km heights. This is why they complained (their leader, Strelkov) about high heights bombings by UA forces just day before this crash, suggesting they can not do anything about it. The claim that rebels just got the Buk systems just on the day of this tragic crash and all of sudden has shot civilian plane and not high-flying military bombers is ridiculous.
7) claims that Russia hit An-26 have no confirmation at all; rebels hit is with small rockets that have maximum range of 3.5 km in height (initial reports that it was flying higher than that were denied; besides, Buk system has 63 kg war head versus 3 kg in small missiles, so there would be no survivors; and in this case, at least two people jumped off with parachutes).
8) Putin DID say that the Ukrainians are responsible. However, he has also said that investigation has to be done before identifying concrete culprit.
9) Cenk COMPLETELY omitted the questions why Ukraine did not arrange no-fly-zone of the war area (after alleging that rebels have Buk systems just day before the crash) AND significantly moved flights’ route to there. The reason could be that they WANT this to happen and then blame rebels/Russia and ask NATO forces to enter (as Poroshenko — “our [USA’s] insider], according to Wikileaks — already did it, immediately).
The only party who have motive in this is Banderite “authorities” of Ukraine (http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1s1usig).
Last year, Assad forces was starting to gain significant leads in the fights but, according to Western media propaganda, all of sudden decided to use chemical weapons (though previously Turkish military captured rebels with chemicals, and previous chemical attacks were shown to be made by non-industrially manufactured chemicals — as per analysis).
This time, rebels in Ukraine have started to gain significant gains since last week, but all of sudden them (or Russia) has shot the plane with civilians and Ukraine’s Poroshenko (USA’s insider, according to Wikileaks) calls for NATO forces to come.
I AM NOT SAYING ANYTHING, I am just saying.
ANOTHER EXAMPLE of mass-media propaganda: http://www.nytimes.com/video/world/europe/100000003007434/intercepted-audio-of-ukraine-separatists.html?smid=tw-nytimesworld
Ukraine has immediately released pre-produced audio of some of old real talks about MILITARY plane being hit by small hand-held rockets systems, WITH new talks that do not indicate anything about who has shot this plane.
*CORRECTION to #9: there is conflicting data on the flight’s route; it is possible that one of tracking sites has not very accurate information on this. But the other part of the point still stays. Ukraine claimed THREE DAYS before this crash that rebels supposedly have “Buk” systems, and yet never set proper no-fly-zone and routed the plane to war area.
There is no way that they can explain this to people whose relatives have died in this tragic catastrophe. NOW Ukraine “authorities” claim that rebels did not have Buk systems exactly as an excuse why they routed the flight to war area. But all of the previous of statements are there, so this cover up does not work.
I haven’t watched this yet so I don’t know how Cenk answers the “what happens to TYT when he dies” question. But I can honestly say that if Johnny Pie is the future of TYT (hosting), I will cancel my membership. Not a fan.
Leave it to Cenk to conclude immediately that the Russians shot down the plane when even the corporate media is being reasonable enough to acknowledge that we can’t know.
Why didn’t Cenk just take the money when MSNBC offered it to him?
I assume because Cenk likes coming up with his own theories and opinions instead of just regurgitating what the MSNBC big-shots tell him. I think it was the Russians or Russian armed forced too.
Cenk is clearly justified in his opinion. Here, look at this article a simple Google search provided.
From CBS website:
A rebel leader for the pro-Russian insurgency fighting against the Ukraine government claims responsibility for the shooting down a plane at about the same time that the Malaysia Flight 17 went down over Ukraine.
“We warned you not to fly in our skies,” said a web posting, subsequently taken down, purported to be from Igor Girkin, widely known by his nom de guerre Igor Strelkov.
In a cached web version of a social web site page obtained by CBS News, Girkin quoted his militia’s claims that they had shot down a military plane. The time stamp on the initial post was 5:50 Moscow time July 17, 2014.
The problem with the media is that THEY ARE LYING. Rebel’s leader Strelkov never said that. This is a social media group of supporters called “from Strelkov” where locals write what they see and try to guess what has happened. Strelkov himself numerously warned that he does not write anything in any social media sites.
HERE SOME REAL FACTS — never reported by MSM or, sadly, by TYT:

Apparently not all of Ukraine was banned by FAA although some parts were… strange? You betcha!
http://www.theatlantic.com/international/archive/2014/07/the-faas-notice-prohibiting-airline-flights-over-ukraine/374622/
Not only Ukraine “forgot” to set up a no-fly zone, but also significantly MOVED the flight to the war zone — all why released statements about how rebels supposedly have high-height-range Buk systems: https://tytnetwork.com/2014/07/17/young-turks-july-17-2014-hour-1/#comment-46211
If a bunch of planes had been shot down in Ukraine just days before, how is it that the whole region was not alarmed and warning that all commercial airliners should AVOID THE ENTIRE COUNTRY?
Now all commercial airliners are avoiding the region.. a bit late though. Why so late?
Because UA “forgot” to set up no-fly zone on those heights even after claiming rebels have Buk systems. AND Ukraine has move the route of the flight so it would go through war zone: https://tytnetwork.com/2014/07/17/young-turks-july-17-2014-hour-1/#comment-46211
I am actually pretty stunned by how little the beach deaths have been covered in the media. (..In that, I’ve literally only heard about it here.) Yes, I knew how it worked, but this is.. just a whole different level. It is just astounding to see how… creepily.. and inexplicitly the news fears criticizing Israel.
