Cenk and Gina.  Talk about Father’s Day and the things that were done for Jayar, Jesus, and Cenk.  Jayar rejected his fancy Father’s Day brunch that his wife planned, Jesus went to a Dodgers game, and Cenk got in trouble for wanting to do what he wanted.  After all, it turned into a great day for Cenk.

  1. I think the difference between the attitude about the Mother and Father’s Day that Jayar was talking about (mothers should kick back and have some time for themselves, fathers should do something with their families) is because, in general, mothers are still perceived (and often are) the main caregivers for their kids, while fathers spend (often much) less time caring for them. That’s why it would make sense to let mothers have some time off on Mother’s Day, and it doesn’t seem unreasonable to ask fathers to spend more time with their kids on Father’s Day than they usually do.

Generally, I do think that when it’s someone’s birthday or any other special day to celebrate them, we should give them what they want (or *at least* work out a reasonable compromise) and not what we or other people want. But I’m an unmarried non-mother (thank you, Gina), so it’s easier for me to think that. If I had kids with someone and he didn’t want to spend the Father’s Day with his kids (at least when they were little) I might feel differently. But I would still try to make his day a special day for him and make HIS wishes come true (I’m assuming I would not have kids with an asshole that isn’t a proper father to his kids and that wouldn’t be the only day where he could prove he can be).

  2. OK, please don’t get me wrong. I LOVE Anna, but could we see Gina on more often? Gina is simply perfection. You are EPIC, Gina. :D

    1. +1

But Gina has her own podcast thing going, Cara Santa Maria also has her own show… they’re not readily available for our enjoyment. Meanwhile, all Ana has going is the Ana hour of TYT.

        1. The Point is produced by TYT, though. It’s an in-house thing, and with the new format they’re trying to make it resemble the Ana hour as much as possible.. which I still think is a bad idea.
