Gina Grad joins Ben and John for SCS.  Three African American brothers that play on a high school basketball team in a  small, White town in Wisconsin have been suspended for posing with three fingers up to represent a three point make in the local newspaper.  A mannequin display for American Apparel in NYC added huge patches of pubic hair to their display, showing the hair in see through underwear.  Vladimir Putin welcomed the gay community to Russia for the Olympics, as long as they leave children alone.  The ex-cop who murdered a fellow moviegoer over texting is trying to use stand your ground as a defense.  A man that appeared on Doomsday Preppers show has been arrested for owning and shooting a gun that he is prohibited from having.  He also spoke about his plan to rob his neighbors in preparation for the end of the world.  Israel is making it illegal to say the word “Nazi” or display any Nazi symbols.  After the “affluenza” defense made headlines last month for a rich kid that killed a few people while driving drunk, California responded by preemptively banning this defense before it’s presented.

  1. Cenk, I watched one of your interviews. You better not hold Pro back. You also told me that you would never do that to a child. At home he is the oldest. Let him be the youngest. Being the oldest a home and at school will probably be such a bitch for him because he will have 0 people to confide in. You might say that he has you and stuff. As if a child is going to tell their parents shit that they much rather tell their older friends. He won’t have any older friends if you hold him back. I SHOULD KNOW I WAS HELD BACK AND I FUCKING HATE MY LIFE AS MUCH AS I DID IN SCHOOL (except before I was held back).

  4. Alright. I’m not speaking definitively because I know that my problem probably has more to do with me than with Gina. What I want to do is bounce ideas off onto people and see where it takes me.
    Something about Gina is off-putting. I can’t put my finger on it, but I want to say that she reminds me of the broadcasters here in Japan (If you watch Japanese TV you know what I’m talking about. They do not act like human beings but rather caricatures of what an “entertaining” human being is “meant” to be.) and that is not a good thing. The reason being that I get a sense she is not being a genuine person. I get the feeling that the person she is portraying, probably constantly when there are people around, is not the same person she is when she is alone. You might say, “Of fucking course, asshole!” That’s not what I’m saying. I know people are different when other people are around. What I’m saying is that the person she is is so drastically different from who she is when people are not around that it boarders on multiple personality disorder. I felt like I went over the line just now, but that is what I’m risking with this stream of conscious.
    She is obviously a nice person but I feel like, kind of getting away from the Japanese broadcaster example now because the have to be that way to be on Japanese TV, that those people are highly insecure. I had a co-worker who would give you a strong powerful handshake, smile and say, “hello” with the biggest warmest greeting ever, and all the things that an extrovert should do, but here is the thing; I went out drinking with him and after a few beers (I was sober because fuck you.) that person completely disappeared. He turned into, well, himself. He was near tears about his life, wife, child, lack of intelligence, as he put it, and so on. Again, of course, people who drink get strange, but this is not on the same level. I’m talking about the difference between night and day.
    So I guess what I want to discuss is if I’m being too analytical or if anyone else gets that same feeling. In the end, I hope that Gina is not how I perceive her because, I think most would agree, and as I’ve already said, she seems like a good person. She just might be severely insecure about herself and because of that, my creepy sense are going off.

    1. I really don’t think so. There are things I don’t like about her, but she does not strike me as disingenuous in the slightest. She is very bubbly, but that doesn’t equate with fake. Maybe because I too am often bubbly, I see where she is coming from. A lot of times when I am gushy or affectionate, people think I’m being sarcastic. Whatever she is, she is that genuinely. Have you watched her on WTF? reviewing Mad Men or something? I just really disagree with you. Just adding my two cents.

    2. I’ll simply say this, Gina is the kind of woman other women generally don’t like, that is to say intelligent, charismatic and perfectly formed.

      1. Fuck you. I’m a woman and I like Gina. Not that I personally know her, but I enjoy watching her on TYT. I’d love it if she hosted the second hour.
