  1. Jack Gleeson was “Little Boy” who met Batman in Batman Begins. So he can do those as well after Game of Thrones ;)

  2. The guy got beat to death, the murderers walked free because they had a badge and that was a win for us? The acquittal of the two policemen was somehow a victory? On which planet?

Having people like Ben analyze and tell us how it’s better than yesterday is fine; having them tell us that it is unreasonable to think it is a total fucking disaster is not fine – it is a total fucking disaster and an absolute outrage.

    1. Ben wasn’t saying that it was a win, or a victory. What he was saying is that the judicial system worked. You can disagree with the outcome, but the police officers were charged. They were tried with a jury of their peers and a ruling was made. The ruling may not be what you were expecting, hoping for, or thought should happen, but one was given through the judicial system as designed. The fact is, none of us were in the trial or on the jury. We don’t know what they saw. We don’t know all of the evidence and Ben’s point was that if the evidence was there in the minds of the jury, those cops could be in prison now. The fact that the judicial system worked is a good thing, regardless of whether or not you personally agree with the outcome.

  3. Ben is full of shit on the media being innocent of owner/access biases. Yea, they want the ratings, but Cenk was killing it on MSNBC and was still let go. Yea, they don’t sit in a smoke-filled room, but Cenk was called into some kind of a room for a speech.

I get that Ben is sceptical. It’s hard to get over the massive indoctrination that just blinds you to shit right in front of your nose. Sure they want ratings, but not if it means going against the political interest that got them that job in the first place. They are left with pretending to do a job and railing against anyone who actually does the job they are supposed to do. He’s been getting steadily better over the years, but leaving him alone with this child is not a good thing.

  4. Seriously, what is it with Ana’s anti-kid agenda? Ben jokes, but there have been a lot of segments that Ana brings to the table about having children.

Me thinks she doth protest too much :-)

    1. I’m about to have a kid. He’s a future engineer, teacher or mass murderer – I have no idea. What I do know is that he will be dumb as shit for a long time and then a sociopath for an extended period of time. There’s nothing glorious about having to take care of kids.

On the other side of the coin, do you want to be the toe-nail on the 250k+ year old creature that kills it by not having kids? So it’s really a very selfish thing on my part.

  5. Every time I see this tape, it looks to me, like they hit him and strike him initially to avoid putting their hands on the “dirty” homeless dude

  6. I don’t see what’s so crazy about adam lanza’s phone call. he makes perfect sense, actually. infants are basically like chimps until they’re socialized.

    1. Expect the government authorities on your doorstep shortly. Hope you have a good grasp and can explain “data rage” syndrome when forced to explain why you used “adam lanza” and “makes perfect sense” in the same sentence.

      1. hahaha exactly; thanks for reminding me of that one. Ben lured Ana into saying that ubiquitous surveilance is OK, if they have some oversight. Oversight over what? The industrial espionage system, or the intimidation of political enemies system they built? That’s what the system is for and the framing Ben puts on it is pretty far off the mark – they aren’t hunting criminals with that system, Ben. They are hunting power. I wouldn’t trust myself with that kind of power, let alone a govt. that kills hundreds of thousands in Iraq for no reason.

And to answer his ludicrous hypothetical question: would I be ok if they all were angels and surveiled everyone only for the good of the community? NO. I want a life, not a guided tour of Earth. I want the moral decisions to stem from people, not their fear of the angels. I want US in charge of our democracy, not some secret goody-two-shoes THEM.
