Follow-up on the picture controversy over Michelle Obama being upset that the president was taking selfies with the Danish Prime Minister. The man that took the pictures with Obama and the prime minister came out to clear the air about how senseless the rhetoric was. Although Ted Cruz took the trip to South Africa, he walked out while Raul Castro was speaking, but since no cameras picked it up, his spokesperson notified the media of what happened and submitted a statement from Cruz to accompany the publicity stunt. Video of Sen Patty Murray speaking about how great the budget deal is that she finalized with Paul Ryan. Cenk deciphers the details of the deal and who will pay for it. Despite the things the GOP has gained from this deal, many Republicans are sour on it. Those include Rand Paul and Tom Coburn. The Volcker Rule of the Dodd-Frank bill has been implemented on the banks. The catch is that the banks will be in charge of policing whether or not they are in violation.
Oklahoma raised private money to put a huge monument to the 10 Commandments on public government ground. In response, a New York based Satanists group plans to put a Satan statue there, too. The state has resisted the 2nd move, wrongfully calling the state a Christian entity. Despite the rejection, a Hindu group has piled on, requesting to put a statue up of their deity. Videos of Gretchen Carlson’s Fox News show that pitted Bill Donahue and Rabbi Schmuley against the Pres of an Atheists group. A cake maker in Colorado is up on discrimination charges for rejecting a gay couple’s wedding cake. Cenk sympathizes with the cake maker, and votes not guilty in the TYT Supreme Court.

Cruz having to point out that he had left the Mandela memorial reminds me of that Arrested Development episode when Tobias Funke keeps going around Hollywood studio water coolers talking about “that Funke guy” to create the buzz about himself that’ll get them to hire him later on. Spoiler alert: it does not work, they hire his 14-year-old daughter instead.
TYT does not create the events they report on!!! There are slow news days; however, I watch Thom Hartmann for perspective and TYT for the fire – I miss the fire.
OMG, ive only seen the first half by now, but how boring is this first hour? YAWN i cannot concentrate on anything and am bored to death. first time ever i’m thinking of skipping to the second hour! I hope the rest is not this boring, hell, if i could handle this amount of boredom, i’d be watching Michael shure right now!

How is this a slow news day? Major budget deal, and the final details on the Volcker rule’s implementation. Those two alone are monster stories, and right up TYT’s alley. Also, TYT continues to ignore the massive protests in Ukraine, which have potentially very big geopolitical consequences.

Cenk sympathizes with a homophobe who is discriminating against people?! I’m a bit puzzled by this, I know Cenk tends to vote this way on the assumption that “private businesses” should do as they please, but Cenk, to actually vote NOT GUILTY? To SYMPATHIZE? That’s going a bit too far, and in fact, discrimination laws exist for a reason Cenk, remember? Discrimination and bigotry is not worthy of sympathy, Cenk.
I agree. I’ll bet you could catch that guy in a real inconsistency. In Mark, Jesus equates couples who divorce and remarry with adulterers. I wonder if that baker checks to see if his customers are on their first marriage before he agrees to bake them a cake. My guess is no. As always, Christians are highly selective in who they condemn and who they don’t.
