True story. That show was good for (half of) a season, and then they went the Lost writing style: Make shit up on an episode by episode basis, be maximally ridiculous, and then hope that the random, gross violence makes up for it. My advice to the writers of Walking Dead: If any character can be killed off (and without even furthering the plot in any way), then no character matters. True Blood and The Walking Dead are really some of the first “little network” (AMC, FX, HBO, Showtime) shows that have chosen not to be artsy and edgy, but to just be completely unartsy, unintelligent garbage with pathetically lazy writing for the ignorant masses. It’s like using the freedom offered on these networks to just make vanilla shows happen to have nudity and violence… It’s completely not the reason why I watch small network TV shows.
