Ana, John, Michael Shure, and Jimmy Dore hosting.  After news that Google and Facebook have joined the radically Conservative group ALEC, one of the FB higher ups was asked about the coalition.  Sen Feinstein appeared on State of the Union to fear monger about how terror threats are up in our country.

Ana points out how devastating our murderous policies are in making other countries unsafe like Afghanistan, while politicians like Dianne Feinstein tout our lack of safety.  About 100,000 people have been able to sign up for ObamaCare in November after improvements were made to the site.

Video of elected officials disputing climate change based on Bible verses.  A predominantly White and wealthy part of Baton Rouge, LA is attempting to secede from the rest of the city in order to hoard more of the taxing resources from the poorer sections of the city, making things even worse there.

  1. I want to be able to watch the live show PLEASE UPLOAD TO FOR THE MEMBERS AT LEAST. I really want to watch all of the 24 hour live show this sucks so badly. I wish it started on Friday.

  2. Alright, after I watch these 2 hours and the post game I will be caught up. – The 3rd that I have on right now. I love Jimmy Dore he is so adoreable and now I know why from Dec 3rd first hour.

  3. The Baton Rouge secession movement is similar to the situation in Birmingham Alabama and its suburbs. Wealthy outlying areas which benefit from the amenities provided by Birmingham but which don’t pay for them because they keep their tax dollars to themselves. Probably many cases in other cities too. This happened at least back in the 1970’s.

  4. A relevant source concerning changing election of Senators from popular vote to election by the state legislatures is:

“Rachel Maddow: The GOP Plan To Take Presidency, Keep House In Four Easy Steps (VIDEOS)
AUTHOR: ELISABETH PARKER JANUARY 24, 2013 3:52 PM”
    from Addicting Info.

  5. What a BRILLIANT point, Jimmy! Dumping $2B out of a plane would probably work infinitely better than this ridiculous bombing.

  6. The repeal of the 17th ammendment is for the establishment to save money on getting their puppets in Washington.

David Dewhurst spent $19 million to get into the US Senate seat that is currently occupied by Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz is an idiot ripple, a product of conservative fear and propaganda run amuck. That conservative propaganda exists in attempt to manipulate the voters into supporting establishment candidates over someone who actually is slightly populists, but was never meant to manipulate the actual politicians. That is the TEA Party in a nutshell, the propaganda used to manipulate voters has infected the candidates and now the elected politicians. The TEA Party is the lash back from lying to the voters for so long. Big business wanted Dewhurst, not Cruz, conservative voters wanted Cruz because they believe the lies of the conservative media sources that they have fed off of.

How much do you think big businesses would have had to spend to get Dewhurst appointed in Austin as opposed to losing to Cruz by primary? I’m sure it would be less than $19 million. It probably would have come from a few thousand donated into a few re-election campaign funds for state legislators in highly contended districts. Mopst Texas districts are so far from swing districts that they typically run unopposed. Many of the people would support Dewhurst, the president of the Texas Senate, without any bribery at all.

So the repeal of the 17th ammendment will keep people like Ted Cruz from sabotaging the whole party, save the establishment money and allows them to continuing to lie to their voters without as bad of lash back.

    1. From Wikipedia: “The Seventeenth Amendment (Amendment XVII) to the United States Constitution established direct election of United States Senators by popular vote. The amendment supersedes Article I, § 3, Clauses 1 and 2 of the Constitution, under which senators were elected by state legislatures.”

“Article I, § 3, Clauses 1 and 2 of the Constitution, under which senators were elected by state legislatures” is the whole point. They have more control of state legislatures through gerrymandering that includes over-representation of rural areas. It would be easier to get the Senators they want through manipulating the state legislatures that having to go through popular vote, which gives urban areas the clout based on their population.
