“A portion of a new abortion law passed by the Texas Legislature has been ruled unconstitutional, and will not take effect as scheduled on Tuesday. The law would have required abortion doctors to have admitting privileges to a hospital within 30 miles of the clinic. Opponents believed that would have forced the shutdown of all but five abortion providers in the state. In a 26-page ruling, U.S. District Judge Lee Yeakel ruled the admitting privileges requirement is unconstitutional, and poses a “undue burden” on women seeking an abortion…”.* Ana Kasparian and Cenk Uygur break it down on The Young Turks.
