Cenk Uygur hosting from YouTube Space LA. Despite how Senator Reid comes across, he may actually be stronger of the two between Obama and himself. Shortly before the government shutdown, while Obama was expressing doubts, Reid pushed Obama to remain strong and not cave to GOP demands during negotiations come the government shutdown. It turns out that this tactic was the most effective course of action. Joe Scarborough has a rare moment of honesty on his show. Joe Scarborough correctly points out that in the rift between the Tea Party members in the GOP and the monied establishment, the monied establishment Republicans won out during the shutdown. In politics, the money people rule. There’s something you can do about this. Visit and donate to wolf-pac.org! Ted Cruz slams GOP bosses at a Tea Party rally in Texas. Tom Donahue, the CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, is not happy with Cruz’s antics. A reporter pointed out to Donahue that “the business community would like [Cruz] to sit down and shut up.” Donahue responded, “That might be one thing we can work on.”

A new Amnesty International investigation and a Human Rights Watch report have been released indicating that there have been numerous civilian deaths as a result of drone strikes in Pakistan, refuting the claims of the Obama administration. Civilian victims include women, children, and the elderly. Beverly Young, the widow of representative Bill Young, bars former Florida Governor Charlie Crist from her husband’s memorial service citing political calculations. Judge Carlo Key of Texas decides he is no longer a Republican. He said, “Make no mistake: I have not left the Republican Party. It left me,” referring to its irrational positions on social issues such as gay rights and poverty.

  1. don’t apologize for doing stories on Ted Cruz and the shutdown, it’s politics at its finest and brings some classic TyT

  2. Love the Obama entry below. Obama should be a Teflon president. How big a rock do you need to hide under to know that Obama folds BEFORE any negotiations he does with Republicans? He promised to commit to Progressive policies all 2008. He followed through on a delayed tepid campaign for marriage equality, at best. Did Obama not go into health care negotiations having folded on the minimal proposal of a public option? After promising his whole campaign to fight for it to the last. He sure duped me out of 30,000 dollars fighting for single payer, then turned on me by folding on his minimal public option IMMEDIATELY. This just proved politicians are just what they are. Money out of politics is the only solution.

  3. Leave it to Cenk to deliver a 15-minute-long tirade about how weak Obama is AFTER he stood his ground against a torrent of pressure from both the Republicans and the media during the recent government shutdown debacle. It never matters what Obama does; Cenk always finds a way to ridicule and demean him. Give in to the Republicans, don’t give into the Republicans – either way he earns a scolding from Cenk.

It reminds me of about a year-and-a-half ago when Cenk spent a whole segment practically foaming at the mouth over how he was just sure Obama would cave into the religious leaders and remove the free birth control provision from the ACA. He was so exorcised over it that even Jayar had to try to calm him down by pointing out that Obama hadn’t actually done what Cenk was getting all worked up over. And here we are, almost two years later and that provision is still part of the law.

Take Obama to task when he deserves it, but not when he doesn’t. It just shows that you’re incapable of seeing the difference.

  4. With President OBama being half Kenyan and therefore half African, I’m not sure if it’s completely P.C. to place is visage on lion king images and call him Simba. Not P.C. but funny as hell since it comes from a good place. I’m sure they didn’t consult with JR on that one.
