  7. Cenk’s assessment of vietnam is pretty far off. What actually happened was we won that war, our objective was to punish and destroy vietnam, and we did that. When their economy and country was destroyed, the real rulers of america, the business leaders, went to Johnson and told him mission accomplished, let’s get out of there now. Vietnam was going to provide an example of an independent economy which was not controlled by the US and they wanted to destroy vietnam so that wouldn’t happen. That’s why vietnam is the way it is today, dominated by US corporations, like the rest of the world.

    1. Um, you might want to check the historic record. North Vietnam took the South – the US pulled out (aka LOST) and it was a communist state for a few years. This happen when Nixon, not LBJ was the President.
