Rep. Amash and John Conyers have teamed up to defund the portion of the NSA that allows the agency to collect phone data on people not under suspicion. The Establishment lost its mind over this, including Michele Bachmann’s claim that the NSA isn’t compiling info on citizens. This statement was so off that Eric Cantor and Boehner spoke out against it. It seems that President Obama is going to nominate Larry Summers to the head of the Fed.

Regarding “hardball politics”… If Obama targeted a specific congressman, wouldn’t it just reinforce their conservative creds and cause conservatives to rally behind them the same way it worked for gun laws or George Zimmerman? I think naming names would only backfire.
**A quick fix on the Federal Reserve. Cenk said around 50:47 that the Fed sets economic fiscal policy. The Fed only deals with Monetary Policy (price stability and full employment) and congress decides fiscal policy (taxing and spending). Must of been a slip of the tongue.
I’d love to hear Michael Shure’s response to the Larry Summers news. “I think that Summers has spent the last 20 years purposely tricking everyone into thinking he’s pro-bank so that he can get confirmed. Once he’s confirmed, Summers will suddenly become super progressive and clamp down on the banks.”
What’s happened to Michael Shure………….is he even w/the show anymore?
I think so, but he has his own show (war room) on Current so he is probably less available.
My guess is the response would be something like, “I’d rather have Larry Summers under Obama than Larry Summers under Bush”, or something else to completely make it seem as though Obama’s actions are an inevitability, and that we’re still winners because Obama isn’t a Republican.
I think something Cenk said should be repeated. “Obama and Michelle Bachmann have won.”
If according to Bachmann this isn’t happening, then why is the United States calling Edward Snowden a traitor?
