George Zimmerman pulls a family of four out of an overturned vehicle.  Twitter conspiracy theories. A pro-guns group is collecting money to buy Zimmerman another gun since he hasn’t been given his gun back yet.  Jayar’s plan to start a gun collection drive to give tons of guns to young Black teenagers to protect themselves.  Tavis Smiley and Cornel West’s criticism of Obama’s speech on the plight of Black people in America.  West thinks that Al Sharpton’s lack of criticism of Obama over his actions to pursue justice in the George Zimmerman case lands him on “Obama’s Plantation.” Rush Limbaugh claimed that White Guilt isn’t doing anything for anyone, since White people had slaves the least and did the most to end the institution.  Abu Ghraib prison break frees 500 al Qaeda prisoners.  Story of an 11 year old Yemeni girl that ran away from her parents when they tried to give her away to an arranged marriage.  She made a video explaining the terrors of the practice. Ted Cruz’ father, spoke to Conservative news outlet, CBN, about how he was gifted above any man, and God has destined him for greatness.  Rand Paul’s aide, the Southern Avenger, has finally been released after Paul’s crew tried to defend and hold on to him.  Video of John McCain declaring that Stand Your Ground laws should be reviewed across the country, including in his state of Florida.  He’s also in favor of re-instituting Glass-Steagall.  Nate Silver is going to ESPN to work with Keith Olbermann.

  1. At some point I thought we were going to hear the whole story about Cenk and Oberman, I must have missed it. Anyone know where it is?

    1. I wouldn’t hold your breath. I feel pretty confident that Cenk is saving that for his post-retirement autobiography/memoirs, or else his grave.

      I know crazy Europeans wanting a fire extinguisher in case a car catches fire, I hear they even have it mandatory in schools or office buildings :)

  3. Even though Rush’s arguement was bullshit, he actually didnt get any of the facts wrong. Everything he said in that clip was correct.

    This is absolutely true.. and the way this is looked from many other people around the world, you are presumed guilty.. the surveilance, not just on suspected.. lets be honest on “muslims”, the indiscriminate drone wars on the “others” the one that are not like we.. culturally and otherwise..the stand your ground laws against “fishy” people …

    Its all about suspecting the others.. before any evidence.

    He talked about this on Michael Shures show “the war room” as well, when he hosted it something of that sort with Michael on a satelite link somewhere. Very much on point on the time.

  7. I’ve carried a fire extinguisher in my car for many years. Engine fires are not at all unusual since fuel injection has become ubiquitous. Since I don’t carry value insurance (just liability), it could save me the cost of the car. And it might save someone else’s car too.

  10. Really? He’s in Des Moines? Is he still in town, cuz he’d probably be scandalized when the Ragbrai party hits DSM on Tues. XD All the sweaty bicyclists drinking beer and partying. Also, he would find that Iowa is no where near as conservative as the rest of the country thinks we are. lol Also, I would give bonus points to any politician that can get off their lazy asses and join Ragbrai (biking across the state in 7 days, where you learn that Iowa is definitely not as flat as it seems when you’re in a car and this year, it’s only going to be a cool 80 degrees. Usually its in the 100s). I would pay to see that. lol

  11. By the way – why isn’t anybody talking about how the whole Zimmerman situation would be if he used a knife instead of a gun. He wouldn’t have the support of gun advocates.

    It was raining, the car was black and it was a convertible, which made him think the car was wearing a hoodie. It also was driving very slow.

    No but what I truly expect is that his men paid the family of four to “say the right” things.
