Obama’s comments on Trayvon Martin and racial issues in America.  Videos of Charles Barkley, Bill Cosby, and Jesse Lee Peterson on the Trayvon situation. The Taliban is fighting back against a “smear campaign” launched by a young 15 year old girl that they tried to kill by shooting her in the head.  After Rolling Stone’s controversial cover depicting Tsarnaev like a rockstar, a police photographer released pictures of his capture, where he looked horrible and defeated.  Cenk doesn’t think he should’ve released the pictures.  Detroit has become the largest city to declare bankruptcy.

  1. Cenk is wrong when he said that Obama couldn’t personalize healthcare issues, not because he does “I met so-and-so and they told me…” better, Obama could have hammered home the death of his mother from cancer who had health insurance and stop covering medical expenses.

  2. I actually would’ve been on Ben’s side in the magazine article’s side, until I read these articles by criminal psychologists that actually say that Cenk and Ana are correct on this. Forensic psychiatrists like Dr. Park Dietz argue that glorifying killers, even negatively, DOES, in fact, encourage other killers, and that the best way to handle a mass-killing is to give few details and treat it as somber and boring, no splash screens or “titles” like “Boston Bomber”. It’s not the only variable, of course, but it is a variable in the mind of a would-be mass-killer.

    1. Tsarnaev was “glorified” in that issue? You must not have read it. Sure, putting his picture on the cover of Rolling Stone does recognize Tsarnaev’s evil celebrity status, but it doesn’t confer any status. In that picture, Tsarnaev looks like a regular person, and that’s because everyone looks like a regular person no matter what crimes they may have committed.

      1. He looks like a good-looking person, and on one of the most prestigious magazine covers in media (there’s even a song about being on that cover!), he looks extremely good and even very cool. A small percentage of people who saw the cover actually read the article and that’s true for every issue of rolling stone. It was an irresponsible thing for RS to do.

    2. Doesn’t this signify the image or message of killer mean that we as a people or society can’t accept extreme behaviors? When his image is posted, it represents himself, but when we the populous view it, we interpret it as sinful murder representing all that is unholy or evil. What is worse? A society that can’t understand murder or a society that is unwilling to view the murderer. The attack in Boston was horrible obviously and was only a fools errand, but it does need real debate, debate that our idiotic society can’t handle, because we are brain-washed into thinking that all that is American is great. Where as these fellows came from another country and couldn’t really assimilate. They aren’t rock stars, but they are representatives of a reality that the new USA faces across the world. You would be foolish to not acknowledge our actions across the globe has tarnished our image, actions committed by our government, not our people.

This IS the debate that our public needs to have, yet all anyone can whine about is the image, not the real problems. Grow up people and get into the real world.

    1. The best part about it was Cenk channeling his inner Fonz by hitting the table and the monitor suddenly comes back on. Great show by Cenk, John, Jimmy and Ana.

  3. This is a ridiculous argument against the cover, once again. Now he looks more like a bad ass to the psycho fanboys, thank you, Ben for having some sense.
