Eliot Spitzer running for NYC Comptroller.  When politicians who help the big banks do wrong, the media gives them a free pass. But if it’s a politician who challenges the banks, then they jump all over them.  VIDEO of Mika Brzezinski grilling Spitzer, and Mark Halperin even more.  People like Halperin only do journalism when it’s with a guy who challenges the establishment, but they fall in line with the establishment.  Bradley Manning trial – prosecution argument is that if you release information to the Internet, you also release it to the enemy.  Bob Woodward published a book with higher level classified information, but he’s not being prosecuted.  The prosecution of Manning is like a police state.  By government logic, there is no way you can be a whistleblower without facing a life sentence, because if you release information to any newspaper or website, it theoretically can get to al Qaeda.  Reports that Obama is considering pulling ALL troops out of Afghanistan.

Dave Koller challenges Cenk on what his attitudes would have been in 1996.  Report on Pakistani failures on not finding Osama.  Astounding incompetence. We learned that bin Laden wore a cowboy hat.  At one point in 2002 Osama bin Laden’s driver was pulled over for speeding with Osama in the back seat.  Do Nothing Congress – Republican breaking records on obstruction.  This Congress has passed a record low of 15 bills.  There was a secret 2009 meeting of Republicans soon after Obama took office.  They decided to block everything.  Pete Sessions explained to the press what they were doing, and he used an analogy that they would operate an insurgency like the Taliban.  The Press doesn’t call the Republicans out; they just say it’s all even.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck going to FoxNews, with Fox and Friends.  Gretchen Carlson going to afternoons, and Megyn Kelly to prime time.  Sarah Palin thinking of running for Senate.  Rush Limbaugh in a fight with Fox News.  Limbaugh accuses Fox of preventing him from criticizing the GOP.  Twitter Storm – questions for Cenk.

  1. Regarding the GOP congressmen saying they want to be the american taliban, Cenk’s analysis was idiotic. I’m on Cenk’s side, I just think he’s being over the top taking what was meant to be a metaphor and was thrown out carelessly, and acting like the GOP released this as an official statement. Sort of like the hobbit homes thing.. if you keep repeating these as if the entire Republican party signed off on them, it makes your arguments sound worse, not theirs. Attack the actual problem, not slips of the tongue.

  2. Iskender is definitely a good one, that was my guess for what Cenk would like — nailed it! Iskender is actually named after alexander the great — “Buyuk iskender” in turkish.
