Police in Hawthorne, CA were captured on tape shooting a man’s dog before arresting him for no apparent reason.  TYT Supreme Court.  A home intruder was caught on tape beating the woman that was in the house.  The culprit has been in serious trouble with the law 12 other times.  Two teenaged guys in Russia have been caught decapitating a homeless man and playing soccer with his head.  If they get convicted, they’ll only receive 15 years in prison. The Bush Admin beefed up border patrol by piling tons of money into it to also focus on drug arrests & border violence.  TYT Investigates documentary gives details on how this turned into a simple drug checkpoint that mostly busts Americans for minor drug possession.  The Electronic Frontier Foundation is formulating technology behind a program that collects everyone’s facial data for facial recognition to be used by the FBI.  Ex-Vegans.com is a website dedicated to shaming people who changed back to being meat eaters.  A 35 year old woman is suing a wax center she was supposed to work at because they fired her over not participating in the Brazilian wax training on each other.  Yoga has been deemed not religious if taught in public school after a religious family protested to it being taught.  Dennis Rodman told Sports Illustrated that he deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his contact with Kim Jong Un.

  1. Good point about the postal workers!!… You are right and Cenk is an idiot on this. Made me furious. Thank God Jesus was so adamant about it. I was ready to cancel my membership because Cenk was making me sick!!.. Of COURSE they’re going to shoot the dog because the police don’t give a shit. Like you said, the police ALWAYS shoot the dog!!!!! I don’t have a dog either and I’ve never been good with big dogs jumping on me and I wouldn’t have shot a dog like that!!And I’m a 5’2 girl, not a huge guy like Cenk!!! Just SHUT UP with your BS Cenk!! You’re such a big tough guy who has fought so many people and you’re ready to f-ing shoot the dog!!!!! What a coward!!!!!!!!!!!! What a load of crap!!!!!! I agree with a lot that Cenk says, but his take on food and animals is pretty bad, some other things too.Very inhumane…..Not liberal at all…. One other point…. the guy with the dog is an idiot for even talking to the cops…..we’re liviing in a POLICE STATE…..we are NOT FREE….they’re passing laws against us filmng the cops!!!…. You take your life in your hands , or the life of your dog in your hands, trying to argue with these cops or taunt them…..He’s now learned that the hard way….

  3. I agree with Cenk. When I read the headline on this story, I expected to be outraged, but after watching the video I changed my mind. The cops definitely could have handled the situation better, but the way they reacted was reasonable, in my opinion. I’m even fine with the cops detaining this guy. I think people have an obligation to obey instructions by officers that are reasonably related to securing a crime scene, particularly an active shooter crime scene. My understanding is that this guy was blasting music so loudly that it was distracting the officers and making it hard for them to hear what was going on. They asked the guy repeatedly to back off and turn down his music, but he refused. I think that if you make the choice to own a dangerous pet, you have a 100% responsibility to ensure that that pet is never in a position where other people feel threatened by it. If you fail in your responsibility, and allow your pet to get itself into a situation where other people feel threatened, the blame for any harm to that pet falls on you. In my opinion, expecting startled people to make split second decisions in regards to carefully parsing canine body language places an unreasonable burden on potential victims, given that attacks by large dogs are often severely disfiguring and sometimes fatal. Bottom line, based on what I’ve seen so far the dog owner is to blame for what happened here. Dog lovers might hope that the cops would choose to risk their safety a bit more for the sake of this dog, and that might have been a better course of action, but the choice they made does not seem unreasonable.

  6. You are so wrong Cenk! The cops just like shooting dogs! Let me ask you something. How many dogs have been shot by U.S. Postal Workers? USPS deals with many dogs every day. That’s why they are trained how to deal with dogs. Cops are trained to just shoot the dog, even if it’s a tiny one like a Chihuahua or a Yorkie. Yeah, but the cops are right by shooting dogs. DUMB ASS! Take 5 seconds & search the internet to see how the cops deal with dogs. They ALWAYS shoot them! You need to get some education on matters like this before you open your mouth. Your right-on on so many things, but things like drugs & a lot about the cops your just plain dumb on the issue.

  8. I googled the whole dog video and it made the case very easy. Cops are totally guilty. Why did they have to straight up arrest him in the first place? There’s so many steps where the cops could have chosen a better strategy.

    And yes, both the cops and Cenk totally misreads the dog, but that is very common. Yes there is a shooting going on, but there’s also plenty of cops around. This could have been handled way better.

  10. I have not seen the second hour yet, but reading the description of it, I could not but check the calendar to see if it was April 1st.
    Let me say one thing: There is a tether instrument that consists of a pole with a retractable loop, which is very effective in catching and keeping a dog at bay. Professional police officers should carry one in their cars (just in case). But I guess professional practice is not the norm here.

    1. Well watch the second hour before you comment. The police didn’t expect an encounter with a dog, is escaped from a car. In the little time they had, they tried to secure the dog, but it started lunging at the officer. Professional police officers would act to defend the public AND themselves.. they also have families, friends, lives.. and if a dog jumps up at one in provoking manner, then they have every obligation to take the shot. Could the whole situation have been handled better by the police? Of course! But as the unexpected circumstances unfolded, there is no fault on the part of the officer for defending himself.

  12. For the nanny cam story, seems like violent criminals always seem to get out of prison, even with multiple violent convictions, while a pot dealer or pot smoker gets years. I suggest that they, especially in the private for profit prison system, that they want to get rid of the violent criminals because they are harder to handle and less profitable to imprison while the stoner is more profitable and cause to problems.

    For the cop that shot the dog….GUILTY in every sense! The dog was not that aggressive. It was even sniffing around. They could of stayed “calm and assertive” (Caesar Milan style) and the dog could have been handled. Cops always take situations and escalate for little provocation or reason.

  14. Dogs have the approximate mental capacity of a 3-4 year old human. If you don’t own a dog or have experience with dogs then substitute the dog in that video for a 3-4 year old with a knife. Does it still feel like a reasonable response?

    1. A dog can do a lot more damage to the human body then a 3-4 year old can. Apples and oranges.

    And yes Cenk, minor threat, worst thing that could have happened is him biting the cops arm, in which case there are 2 other cops that could have shot the dog. Trigger happy cop could have told the others to take their guns or tazers out. he could have used his tazer instead. he could have told the owner to put the dog back in the car. You think that dog was gonna be able to grab the cop by the throat? NO FRIGGEN CHANCE HE COULD JUMP THAT HIGH. The cop has arms. Did you notice the Cop SHOT THE DOG AFTER THE MOVED AWAY (after landing from his jump). The dog moved away, the cop could have moved away, but decided to shoot him instead.

A dog is not an IED, its got teeth and people have these things called limbs that are very useful for defense, but no, the police had to fire multiple shots into the body of the dog, trying to be some hot shot. You use that thing in your head called a brain to make what’s called rational judgements.

How hard would it have been for the so called ‘cops’ to say “hey man, tell your dog to back off or I’ll have to shoot it”… Then easily taken off ONE handcuff so he could grab the leash and put the dog back inside or in the car even (though leaving a dog in the car while your ass is hauled off to jail isn’t the best idea either). It’s not like the 3 cops couldn’t detain the guy while he did so, he was irritating them with a phone and asking questions, doesn’t sound like a major criminal or threat to me. TBH I’m not even that fond of dogs, but that clip infuriated me! Lastly, did that dog die in a humane way? FUCK NO! It was bouncing around yelping for at least 5 seconds… That’s poor dog went through hell before he died, and for WHAT? So a trigger happy cop could shoot his fucking gun… Obviously I can’t say for certain as I’m not a mind reader or can see into the future, but that shit would NEVER happen in Australia going off the general way police behave here, they do some questionable and dumb things here for sure, but I’ve never heard of the. Killing an animal for no reason in front of so many witnesses and the camera.

    1. Oh, he was playing music? Well then, they should burn down his home and crucify him upside down and make his family watch. Defiantly playing music changes everything.

  20. I don’t think anyone is asking for the cops not to defend themselves. People don’t want to cops arresting people without cause and killing pets in the process.
