Edward Snowden’s revelations about America’s spying tactics on other countries, including allies. Are we spying for commercial purposes rather than for security?  Edward Snowden appears to be stuck in Moscow after his attempt to escape to Ecuador was stamped out by Biden.  Putin’s response to giving him up was negative towards the U.S. but doesn’t want us to think he’s working with him.  Obama derangement syndrome applies to supportive Liberals as well as disapproving Conservatives.  Melissa Harris-Perry criticized Snowden over the weekend in defense of Obama.  It sounded very similar to Bob Schieffer’s bashing about a month ago.  Bush defended Obama Admin and the NSA program.  Michael Hayden thinks that Americans should know more about the program even though he’d prefer we don’t know.  Julian Assange spoke with George Stephanopoulos about how Snowden isn’t a criminal, but a hero. Huge protests in Egypt generated 14 million protesters in the streets throughout the country over Morsi’s government. The tragic wildfires in Arizona has killed 19 firefighters.  Although climate change didn’t cause the start of the fires, conditions due to climate change cause them to be able to burn more fiercely.  After the New Yorker’s front page depicted Bert and Ernie as a couple snuggled up as DOMA was overturned, conservatives responded with outrage, included Bryan Fischer calling it child endangerment and abuse.

  1. i just found the free t-shirt for existing members thing and i just wanted to say that you very much TYT. i am sooo excited for it. i will gladly promote your show all over the streets of canada!

  2. My God, I feel like I know nothing about my country or my world! I now have to show this video to everyone I know. It is unbelievable what is going on with the leaders of our planet.

  3. I stood up for Snowden after the initial leak. He was informing America information that helped us all. But I have a hard time supporting him now, Informing other countries our enemies included on how and when we Spy on them is not cool. That does not help the American public at all. I cannot go as far as to say it puts American lifes in danger, but I will say he’s playing a dangerous game now.

  4. God, your iTunes subscription service is pathetic. I have to re-enter my password every time I want to download an episode, when I’m subscribed to it and have paid for this every month for five years. Totally lame. If you love to hire people so much, could you PLEASE hire someone who’s technically proficient? This is not rocket science, but the Young Turks experience is constantly soured by technical snafus.

  5. I totally get why Cenk thinks that foreign spy information shouldn’t be leaked, but I’m still going to disagree with him that it was a bad thing. Because those countries are -pissed-, and they should be. Feel a little funny saying so, but this will hopefully hurt diplomatic relations with these countries. I want as many people turned against the US government’s surveillance as possible, I want Obama to be known as the surveillance president, so it’s seen as such a political liability, it’s as toxic as it can get.

    1. Well said. I agree. I’d also go so far as to say spying on diplomats is anti-american and should have been leaked as well. Our ‘allies’ aren’t terrorists.

  6. Honestly Russia is the best possible country to be stranded in for Snowden right now. If he feels like Putin is going to give him up he can disappear into the Siberian countryside and cross the border on foot into Mongolia or Kazakhstan. He could drop off the face of the earth and never be seen again if he wants to.
