I think it is important to keep in mind that sexual identity and sexual orientation are completely separate things. The question is more so: ‘when did you know that you were a boy’ as opposed to ‘when did you know that you were attracted to girls’. Also, I think that sexual identity is a lot harder to deal with not just from the standpoint of potentially facing more discrimination but more so of coming to terms with it. Imagine you identify as male when you are growing up, but because you are biologically female your body develops completely differently. I cannot even imagine how horrible that sensation must be of feeling trapped in your own body. And just like sexual orientation, there is a spectrum when it comes to sexual identity. Can you imagine oscillating between male and female?
My Mother had a Mary and Joseph statue in her China Cabinet. When ever I visited Joseph’s back would always be turned to us. I loved joking with Mom asking her why is Joseph always so upset. Turned out he would just turn around slowly from the vibration of people walking past the cabinet. The odd part was that once Joseph’s back was to us, he would stop turning.
um … Wallenda’s Grand Canyon walk was on Sunday night, and he made it across safely.
In the book Atlas Shrugged, the characters seem to live an America where the companies are owned by the business men who started them, and, make a decent product that people need. In the reality of venture capital and corperate cartels, Rands ideas of a market driven economy are nothing more than fantasy.
You guys are wrong about the guy’s confidence, you need to be that confident when you do something as crazy walking the wire. He can’t tell himself “oh, I might fall, you have to be 100% sure, if i fall I grab the wire. He’s telling himself that more than telling the audience, because he has to burn it into memory for his own safety.
