Cenk hosting today.  Update on the conflicts between the government and protesters in Turkey.  The Prime Minister sent threatening messages to the protesters.  NY Times piece on the situation in Istanbul was critical of the government there.

 

When it comes to spying on American citizens, both Dems and Republicans are on the side of Big Government.  Boehner called Snowden a traitor, Al Franken assured a local news station that the probes are fine.  Cenk outlines the list of political figures for and against the probes.  Although the Obama Admin and its defenders are claiming that the NSA probes are legal, one of the authors of the law that has knowledge of the plain language says that its illegal.  Three different companies that do data gathering have been identified; showing that private companies do 70% of it overall.

 

Private firm Booz Allen employed current NSA workers, and employs past NSA workers.  The merge of government and private corporations is going full circle.  Bill O’Reilly’s hypocritical switch on being for the NSA spying when Bush was in office.  Twitter Storm with Jenny Huang.
