Whistleblower who exposed the NSA probes has been identified – Snowden. Poll results on NSA domestic spying. Acceptance of privacy switched among Dems and Repubs depending on the party in power. The Establishment in Washington and their supporters came after Snowden in full force. Among many, Alan Dershowitz is the biggest fraud. Rand Paul opposes the NSA program and Cenk thinks Liberals should join him in the fight even though he’s wrong most of the time. Facebook, Google, Apple, Yahoo, and many others participated in the probe of Americans’ information despite their claims that they didn’t. The program PRISM is bigger than what Cheney and Rumsfeld created. Update on Turkey.

God, Snowden is such a hero. I can absolutely imagine myself being in his shoes, and it’d be an incredibly tough decision, even for a civil libertarian like myself. To be honest, it was hard for me to relate to Bradley Manning. Not in that he was someone who would turn in evidence of terrible abuses of power, but (sadly) simply that he was someone to which the allure of a position in the military was effective. I do have family members in the military, and also in the intelligence services. With Snowden, as a member of the government surveillance network, a career path I have seriously considered, I feel a camaraderie that I wanted to feel with B. Manning but wasn’t to 100%. Posting after drinking again, so I’ll stop here. <3 Snowden. Fuck spying on our own citizens.
YOU are a true american. this is what america was supposed to be, but unfortunately the pack of paranoid shcitzo neo conservative morons just have too much power. osama bin laden has won and is still winning. why on earth would any country want to have military capability that could take on the countries of the entire world COMBINED? For obvious reasons, yep.
I appreciated the notice this morning when the show was not yet available.
Agreed. That was a good improvement, the notice was very front and center without having to search through pages/forum posts. Thanks Jenny!
While we all want Cenk to realize his dream of owning the dominant Internet network, just imagine CBS “losing a show” due to a transformer blow-out.
Until TYT reaches that standard if reliability the paying members will continue to demand (and deserve) more.
Implying CBS doesnt have back-up stations across the states that are maintained and funded by Advertisers so that their Ads ALWAYS show even if the news center shuts down. That was some amazing false equivalency my friend.
Re-fuckin-lax people. I can’t get my daily dose of TyT & it ticks me off too but o well! They’ll be back with more news 2morrow….TyT, too strong!
Yo Brian telling everyone to just fuck off is so constructive, no, really.
Think you need to appreciate that whilst this problem is out of TYT’s hands, this issue is somewhat emblematic of the delays, errors and mistakes that keep happening…I don’t think a week goes by without some sort of slip-up. I have only been a paying member for 2 years so can’t really complain, and pay for the content not the package – but compared to the budget you guys were probably running with a few years back – the jump in technical issues since then is probably what frustrates so many members – hence comments such as these!
Hope you can iron out these problems soon!
Dude it’s tyt trademark this shit :) They fail because they’re too strong!
Agreed.
This particular problem is something that happens naturally and is out of anyone’s control, you can’t get too upset about it. And yet it’s compounded by the frequency of errors and delays that are NOT freak occurrences, and it wouldn’t be a problem for people if it were actually a deviation rather than a continuation.
It’s like using your sick days when you have a cold or a hangover and then not having any left for when a legitimate sickness like the flu comes along. There’s no margin for error when the technical difficulties are so continuous.
TYT would like to announce the hiring of the new goodwill ambassador in our customer service department, Brian Halvorsen. You don’t like, FUCK OFF!
I just signed up today. this is nonsense, members dont deserve this. and you guys have done nothing to figure out the general issue that is causing these issues (low standards perhaps?) and are not addressing it. When software devs write a bug, they dont askhow did i write this bug alone, they also ask, whats wrong with the processes im employing that is leading me to even write these bugs. this is how you solve all the problems or minimize them properly, look at the process, whats wrong with it? What you have now is not working for you.
I think they are analyzing it, she is just not the person involved in it.
i understand that this particular incident is out of their control, but most are in their control. they must increase their standards somehow.
Fuck off, they’re human.
you’re an idiot. speaking that way reflects on you pretty badly. the ‘their human’ excuse works for intermittent errors, when there are technical issues of some sort or other every single day, there is another reason beyond just being human.
Ban brian.halvorsen. I don’t think he is human.
Oh no not again.
I just love how so much irony and sarcasm is conveyed so succinctly- in just one small sentence. The comment is well timed and well placed- just wish there was someone smart enough at tyt to understand the main feeling behind such comments i.e. UTTER FRUSTRATION !
Fuck off, they’re human.
Fuck off, members. It will be up soon enough.
Fuck off, we’re human.
Agree with you Canadian judge ! Feel bad my cherished members’ comment section is now turning into trollistan !
Remember when Cenk did a show in the hallway because there was no lights? Remember when Cenk did a show from Occupy? C’mon, a camera and Cenk is all you need. New technology is great, and producing a polished show is awesome, but you’re forgetting what makes TYT great. You don’t need a fancy studio to speak truth to power. Heck, you could film the show and upload it to youtube from a phone these days.
the problem isn’t doing the show. they can do that and upload the videos on youtube just fine…
I largely sympathize with beertron here. But if we took the direction of simple and reliable, with fewer bells and whistles and not as fancy a look, a good portion of the members would freak out. It’s a classic Aesop’s fable situation of being unable to please everybody. And people should stop blaming all of the staff for this and saying that Cenk is being served poorly by the people he hires. Those people who make that complaint don’t know what they are talking about.
Dave, I realize you’ve been with the organization from the onset and you’re reading the bulk of negative comments for years, but still…
1. Cenk’s political analysis, Cenk’s personality and “simple and reliable” is what got TYT where it is.
2. It’s a terrible idea to be defensive and accusatory with your customers if you want to play a customer service rep. You’re not doing the show out of your garage and it isn’t a “favor” to us all. Acting like the customers of your professional business don’t have the right to complain when you don’t provide what they’re paying for is insulting. The people here are even saying that they’re still loyal to the show, even with the technical problems that have been consistently plaguing it – what does it say about your care and loyalty toward your customers to be chastising them on your own forums?
3. We blame the staff because the staff is responsible for the show. Once a human error, twice a technical error, thrice a power outage … But on the 268th time, really the only acceptable response is “SORRY. Here is what happened. Here is what we’re doing to fix the issue. Here is why this issue is never going to happen again.” (Bonus points: “Here is what we’re willing to do to make it up to members”)
WHO-RAHHHH!!! Autumn127
Totally on the spot with all three points.
TYT needs to be compared with other new media networks like CNET, TWiT.tv, Glenn Beck’s The Blaze, and a plethora of evangelical mega churches have consistent programming without the inconsistent service. As far as the blame being placed on Cenk’s employees as Mr. Koller complains towards the paying members– well sorry but we as paying members about a service that falls short of the expectations a $10/month fee comes with and has competitors of new media broadcasters (compared to Netflix $8.99 and having 100,000 movies dependably available to stream).
There are only two things in the world results and excuses, and blaming the paying members is most definitely an excuse. I can not wait till TYT Network comes with consistent results, but until that happens Dave Koller and Ambassador Jenny should get on it to do everything they can to pester and annoy all those responsible for the lackluster service whether Cenk’s hires or Cenk himself– the buck stops somewhere, might as well stop with Cenk.
I agree with what has been posted, but I also want to back up Dave. Dave’s been posting on the (new) site since day one, and of any of the TYT staff I trust his input. I’ve never been one to hold back when I feel like something’s been done incorrectly, and there have been plenty of screw-ups in the months since I joined TYT. However, I feel like TYT has begun to listen to us (again?), in that they’ve started posting messages when the show will be delayed, and Jenny has apparently started to better monitor the site comments and forums. I totally understand, and have been behind some of the rage at yet another day of fucked-up show uploads, but at the same time I’m appreciative that they’ve begun to make in addressing the issues that the community has been raising. Back to D. Koller, as I said, Dave has been posting here since at least day one of the new site, and I’m sure he’s aware of the problems going on. While I’m not happy when the show is late to go up, when I see Jenny /and Dave/ post about the problem, I feel like they really are working on addressing the issue. Maybe I’m putting too much faith in Dave, but considering he’s a founding member of TYT, saying that they’re really working to fix this shit, I trust him. To sum up, I do feel the pain of those who pay (alongside myself) to receive TYT eps “nightly,” but I also can stand some technical difficulties from my favorite politics video-stream /podcast.
Also: brian.halvorsen FUCK OFF YOU FUCKING PIECE OF SHIT FUCK OFF AND DIE AFTERWARDS GO TO HELL IN BURNING AGONY AND TORMENT ETERNAL.
Perception is a funny thing. I think SeanThePolitico is on point and figured out what I was trying to say. I think Autumn127 was way off point and mischaracterized or completely made up what I was saying. Yet SeanThePolitico says Autumn127 was spot on. It’s some kind of impossible MC Escher triangle.
Anyway, I was not being accusatory and defensive (can you really be both simultaneously?). I was not chastising the members. I was not denying customers the right to complain. I was stating that many or most of the problems that cause complaints are due to systemic problem that arises at a higher level than the staff. The participants of this forum ask me for my input. When I give it, some accuse me of various things. The other day I confessed to the accusation that TYT values quantity over quality; I basically admitted that is true. And the response to my post was that I was making excuses. It’s like a thief who admits to stealing money because he wanted to buy some new clothes, and somebody says he’s making excuses.
This is ridiculous. Give me one example when I’ve “mischaracterized or completely made up” what you were saying. I quoted your “simple and reliable” phrase, and that was all. So what did I make up, Dave?
Also keep in mind that I’ve been reading your commentary to members on numerous video posts and forums, and I can have a solid opinion of how you reply to people.
Here are just a few of your direct quotes : “… people should stop blaming all of the staff for this and saying that Cenk is being served poorly by the people he hires. Those people who make that complaint don’t know what they are talking about.” = ACCUSATORY. You also recently posted: “It’s shocking how many people complain in general but don’t bother to write an email to support@tytnetwork.com” = DEFENSIVE. Now I should add “rude” to the list.
Not to mention that even though I was supposedly “way off point”, no point was disproven. What, Cenk doesn’t make the show? You shouldn’t be nice as a customer service representative? You shouldn’t be professional about service errors?
Totally agree with Autumn127 and beertron. Guys we love you but technical problems again and again and again, that’s ENOUGH. Make the thing work as ALL businesses do with surley less money than what you now have (from our pocket). Thanks to not play around and just doing the necessary corrections.
Amen.
unbelievable, today, of all days..
Fuck off, they’re human.
Please guys… it’s repetitive… I’m fan of Cenk since when he was speaking just with a white wall behind him. At the time there were none of these every week “technical problem”. What matters is your content, that we love, no need for flashy studios which have “technical problems” ALL THE TIME. Thanks. Alexandre
Is that the place on Embarcadero? I should stay away from there. Sounds scary.
NSA sabotage?
Thanks for posting a message, and thanks for the TYT Classic clips. They’re not as good as whole “classic” episodes, but the new commentary (on the commentary) is interesting.
Hey, where are those classic clips with the new commentary located?
