Analogy about drug dealers being prosecuted while bankers walk free for their crimes. A bridge in Washington state collapsed last evening. It was on a list of bridges labeled “functionally obsolete.” All of the state’s bridges get a grade of C-. The debate over whether or not tornado relief for Oklahoma should be offset by spending cuts before funds are administered. Sen Tom Coburn called it typical Washington B.S. Lack of safe rooms or tornado shelters in Moore, OK.
The new Pope Francis has declared that Atheists can make it into Heaven. House Republicans passed a bill that would cause students rates to go up over time. The DCCC created a simple ad pointing out their attack on students with loans. Elizabeth Warren proposed that students pay what we comically charge the banks, a rate of .75%. Conservatives lost their minds at this reasonable proposal. Bernie Sanders proposed allowing his state of Vermont to label foods with GMOs, but was greeted with lies and manipulation in opposition by paid-off senators. Progress report of states that are pursuing an amendment to get money out of politics.

Really nice coverage of Medea Benjamin.
Getting money out of politics is not the only solution. We could change our voting system to get rid of vote splitting so we don’t have to vote for the lesser of two evils. This can be done on a state level. It would be much easier than getting an amendment passed that the SCOTUS will willfully misinterpret anyway.
Cenk this is getting really annoying– stop saying the pope is “talking to God” or that he’s infallible. Don’t insult Catholics unless you’re prepared to understand their dogma. That’d be like saying that all Muslims are terrorists. Don’t play into the same ignorance you lambast every day.
Fuck off with that shit. It’s not ignorant to ridicule powerful religious institutions that are full of hypocrites. Also. the Catholic religion does push the idea that the pope if infallible and talks to God (they think everyone talks to god via prayer, knuckle head) – just because that is a really ignorant thing to believe doesn’t mean it isn’t the case.
You keep saying over and over “he’s infallible” whenever you mention the Pope, but he’s not infallible, not even in Catholic doctrine. He’s only allowed to make infallible statements under certain circumstances.
The pope hasn’t spoken infallibly since 1950. Contrary to how cenk acts it is something that has to be done consciously
Can’t download today’s show. I know that it is too easy to complain from afar, but how many times a week, a month, is it acceptable to inconvenience the paying member’s? I watch a number of shows on the TWIT.TV network and they NEVER have a problem – so I know this whole podcast thing can be done flawlessly – just saying.
