Ana talks about her day at Cal State Northridge where she was invited to speak to journalism students. She talks about how she hates it when people think she still works for a radio show. Cenk talks about how much he dislikes the expert label people take when they get multiple PhDs.

I actually found myself laughing out loud at this episode. Thanks guys. Just what I needed!
I found out about TYT during the 08 election when I heard Sarah Palin believed dinosaurs and humans coexisted, so I went looking for a youtube video about it, and TYT was the first result. So, I’ll say for the first and last time ever: thank god for Sarah Palin.
one thing i learned about this vid: Cenk is unbearable.
I don’t remember the first video I watched from TYT. I think it was a political vid.
Can you guys explain your post-current situation in a post game?
I feel Ana on her beef with people who give her compliments on her show but quickly give a tell they don’t actually watch it. I get that a lot where I work too and sometimes I want to pull my hair out.
I started watching Cenk shortly before he left MSNBC. Sounds lame but I used to avoid the TYT clips on youtube before their studio looked shabby and ameture. Eventually confirmation bias kicked in. I am an atheist and liked the way these guys hammered down on religion.
I am equally a fan of the first and second hour. Sometimes the first hour has a negative affect on my mood and I take a break. Sometimes the second hour has too much discussion and I skip it. Still worth my monthly sub, even if I can’t see a video or a few days a month get fubared becase of technical difficulties.
I feel bad for ana going to csun :(
such a depressing campus, and northridge
Going to school for liberal arts or science improves critical thinking skills a lot. Professional schools like business and nursing are more about memorizing specific facts. Cenk’s perspective about school is from the business school bubble.
I came to tyt from current after following olbermann. Then became a member 5 months later. I’m better than Lincoln!
I learned about TYT from watching Cenk on MSNBC. He was the only show I liked on that channel. When he left, I started watching the online show. I have Cox and they do not carry current. TYT is my main source of news now.
That’s not that bright. People need to read more, go read Glen Greenwald articles, amazing journalism.
Cenk is right about Ph.D. programs in certain fields. Ana, you do NOT need to go back to school for this. When I think of “experts” I remember the bullshit talk shows in the 80s-90s. Also, when I first started to watch TYT 6 years ago, I thought Cenk was such a powerful personality that maybe he dwarfed you in your segment, but I thought he dwarfed almost everyone except Jayar. Very quickly, though, I saw how strong and smart you are. Sometimes I haven’t heard of a topic you’re discussing, but even when I have, I appreciate your perspective. And I love the way you hold your own, even when other people on the show oppose your viewpoint. Before I started to watch TYT, I hated television journalists. I read people like Glenn Greenwald, Matt Taibi, and I watched Democracy Now — period. You are a great journalist. Please appreciate yourself.
Yeah, a PhD in Sociology may be different from one in Physics, say, but Sociology right now is about where Physics was before Galileo or Newton. There’s a lot of work to be done, and it’s a much more complex topic. We need people to work on it, especially now. And Cenk, intuition is a fickle, it’s bound to fail you at some point.
Sociology is currently where Physics was before Newton? So basically no where.
Im about to do a PhD on Fox News and their use of emotional language. It’s essentially Jayars job ie watching clips of fox news every day…
Well, good news is you can point them to our TYT documentary later this year and then they can know the story. ;)
I started watching TYT after seeing a real political clip on YouTube. I forgot what I was searching, but I loved how Cenk was being real and stuff. This was before Obama won the primaries and all that.
