Bush’s Library ceremony today. W. talked about how awesome it was that his father was there. Presidents Obama, Clinton, and Carter spoke. John King asked him about the decision to go into Iraq. Frank Luntz was caught on tape talking about how talkers like Limbaugh are a problem for candidates like Rubio. Donald Trump sent a tweet going after Jon Stewart, calling him his legal name, Jonathan Leibowitz, causing many to accuse him of being racist.
The number of deaths from various other causes in America vs. the amount that died from terrorist attacks. Syphilis has killed more than terrorism. Bill O’Reilly is obsessed with Obama going after radical Islam in the wake of the Boston bombings. The numbers show that Right Wing extremism leads the way for terrorist attacks in this country. Videos of Michelle Malkin blaming smugness and political correctness for not connecting the Tsarnaev brothers to a larger terrorist network. A Republican strategist on Fox claimed that Liberals are attracted to the disdain terrorists have for America.

I’m pretty sure that the police are allowed to lie as much as they want to scare people into confessions. Forcing officers to at least inform suspects that they have rights protecting them from self-incrimination (which is exactly what the cops are trying to get out of them) is one of the great things that we do here.
see?! isn’t it great to comment about the show rather than technical issues?!
I’m so sick of seeing the faces of the bombers. I thought there’s a pretty strong consensus that showing their faces sort of “idolizes” them. Can TYT start using other images for the “over the shoulder” instead of their faces? You had a “Boston Bombing” graphic that was just fine the other day. I’d rather honor and think about how the victims than have to stare at the culprits at all times.
Thanks for intro links.
Seriously, Cenk? “It seems like entrapment, but whatever”? It’s deeply immoral to encourage people to turn into terrorists and your FBI is doing it on a regular basis. I would expect more moral outrage from someone who gets angry so often at other injustices.
It is obnoxious, hilarious, and sad to see that Republicans are so deeply attached to their facade of unity that they are scared to death to say that one of them is going too far.
From what I’ve always understood about Miranda rights, a person is covered under them whether an arresting officer recites them to him or not. In other words, it’s not contingent upon the police doing their jobs but on one’s being a citizen of the U.S. I realize that this is a special case because of the 48-hour suspension (which I think they used here because they wanted to make sure there weren’t other bombs planted somewhere and they had to wait for him to regain consciousness to find out), but in general I think it is a common fallacy that one is Mirandized only after the rights have been read to the suspect.
Great take down at the end of Michelle “Nails on a chalkboard” Malkin, FOX News and the absurd meme of the “liberal/fundamentalist Muslim alliance.” Cenk at his fieriest.
