  1. I know people have already pointed this out, but Jimmy Dore is awesome. He should be on the show at least once or twice a week, if not a permanent co-host.

    Are you kidding me, Ana? You’re going to devote a prolonged segment to Suzanne Somers’ unfounded ramblings and try to justify them?

    Just because there was a great recent study that established a link between lead and violent crime, does not give people free range to intuit that some ambiguous environmental toxicity is linked to a specific crime. Or that Suzanne Somers is generally right. How is she right? Seriously, please explain. No facts. No studies cited. Not even an attempt to research and explain biological mechanisms that can potentially lead a certain toxin to contribute to behavior change.

    And by the way, “I just feel that ….” and “she looks so good for her age” are not acceptable arguments for pseudo-scientific theories.

    Once again — superb scientific reporting. God, what do we need to do to bring Cara Santa Maria back???

    1. So have you read any of Suzanne Somers’ books before reaching your concusions about her? They are predominantly based on interviews with doctors and scientists.

      1. I’ve read her numerous statements and (unfortunately) have seen many interviews over the years. I don’t need to buy her books of assorted pseudomedicine to judge what she advocates.

        Suzanne Somers routinely links medical statements from doctors to her own inane conclusions about health. She’s an ACTRESS with zero medical training who is spreading potentially-harmful medical instructions (especially about breast cancer treatment).

    2. You said it, Autumn! Every time (mostly Ana) starts going on about science (from a pseudoscientific perspective), I wish they would cut to Cara debunking her. I think her biggest logic error is her use of the “Naturalistic Fallacy”. I suggest folks send tweets to Steve Oh. During his reddit AMA, it was obvious he’s a skeptic, and he supported the idea of a “TYT Science” type show. I hope we see something like that in 2013. Unfortunately (based on comments I’ve heard from Ana on-air), she thinks folks like us are “being haters”. Nothing could be further from the truth. I enjoy the SCS hour – I just think it could be even better if these stories were delivered with a skeptical perspective.
