  1. Oh, by the way John, OBAMA has NOT taken time to have meetings with the DEA and told them “Go arrest all these medical marijuana patients in legal states, because I want to go back on my word.” Obama has been working to medically legalize cannabis for years, and maybe that’s why half the states in the country are legalized. Each state has their OWN LAWS. Obama appointed the states the ability to make their OWN LAWS. Obama does not review every state’s laws and signs off on them. The state governor is the one responsible for maintaining the laws in each state.
Unless and until Obama is somehow able to completely dissolve the DEA, the leader of the DEA is the one who decides which people to go after. The DEA doesn’t have to call the white house before every single raid to personally get his permission after they tell him who it is and why they are being raided. If you all think Obama is literally signing off and overseeing every drug arrest, on top of passing the hundreds of bills you think he can magically snap his fingers and make happen, by all means, please explain how one person can do all that, and if you think he’s doing such a horrible job, please feel free to go try out the job for yourselves!! You can’t? You don’t have time? Don’t think YOU could get anything done in office because you’re “too extreme”?? Maybe that’s why HE’S running the largest most out-of-control country on Earth, and has the most stressful, difficult job imaginable, yet you ALL seem to LOVE bashing bashing bashing him every single time he is in the news, and then some!
Have ANY of you bothered to acknowledge the fact that BUSH left the country in worse shape than it has ever been in?? Have you ever expressed a single ounce of gratitude for the fact that he completely reversed the jobs loss and recovered an almost beyond help economy, or that he passed the very first national healthcare plan, which you very well know he had EVERY intention of making life easier for all those who had no way to get medical treatment or care, or the fact that he has done more for the lower class than anyone in 20 years?? Of course NOT, why would anyone ever notice any of the GOOD Obama has accomplished, nor has anyone explained how Romney or any of the other dumbfucks who ran against Obama would have been SO much better for everything, that you guys all think the country, even the WORLD, can magically be made ALL BETTER! Has a single POTUS in the history of the world EVER been able to make every single person happy, or been able to fix every single issue they WANTED to fix?? NO, because it’s IMPOSSIBLE TO FIX EVERYTHING!

  3. Non-Violent prisoners in for use & or possession, especially those without records that were used as examples, pardoned and ALSO not have a felony on their record that will prevent them from finding work and being able to vote.

  4. This HSBC story is the most flagrant case of corruption I’ve ever seen… It’s so depressing that absolutely nothing will be done about this, just like the LIBOR rigging it will be forgotten about in weeks.

  5. I find it extremely disingenuous of Obama to pretend to cry after he’s killed 168 kids in Pakistan alone through drone strikes.

Although this is a horrible tragedy, Obama is CAUSING many more children to get killed around the world. I wish just one the media would make a big deal about that.

    1. ‘…pretend to cry ….’ and ‘… causing many more children to get killed …’ — what did you see, read or experience that makes you say that?!?

      1. addition to my reply — I DO completely understand and agree with the hypocrisy regarding what the US does overseas — so correcting myself on that — however as much as I despise many actions, the reality of the world is that things are messier than the US likes to believe or admit. One of our problems, which TYT is doing their part to correct, is the sugar coating of everything. I have always hated that politicians do it but sometimes also makes sense – you can’t break down all the walls all at once, and the powers beyond the President make sure that it doesn’t happen. Not entirely sure what the answer is to that one in the big picture …

  6. A .223 is not a ‘high powered rifle’.

    PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELFS.

Also, for the love of god and all that is holy… educate yourselfs on fully automatic vs automatic vs semi automatic. Go ahead, talk about how nobody needs automatic pistols again…. ::FACEPALM::

    1. “The .223 Remington is a sporting cartridge with almost the same external dimensions as the 5.56×45mm NATO military cartridge” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.223_Remington

Sure it’s not a .308 but it’s still stronger than a .22 caliber target rifle.

      I think you mean “Yourselves.”

The real issues here are both ease of access to weapons that can kill easily and lack of mental health resources. No other 1st world country has the per capital gun death rate of the US. I have no problem with guns. I have a problem with overly permissive access to guns.

You can buy guns here if you pass the FAC testing, which teaches you proper maintenance and safety of the weapons as well as the regulations for transporting and storing them. You can also buy handguns in Canada if you pass similar testing. Total cost is about 80 bucks for the license.

      1. ‘Mental illness’ can be used to talk about JUST ABOUT everyone. Lose your job, get depressed , then what? Does that count as a mental illness? What about republicans who say being gay is a mental illness?

What do you propose, a yearly mental health check on every registered gun owners? If yearly, what if someone smokes a metric ton of meth, does a swan dive off the edge, but kills people before he’s due for his next yearly checkup? Who pays for this? Who gets to say someone is beyond having the right to own a gun?

That shit is unrealistic, and a great example of ‘big government’. It wouldnt work… But what do you propose to keep guns out of the hands of the mentally

Im with you guys, in that the pro gun movement is INSANE, im all for limiting hi-capacity magazines, assault rifles (Not just ‘black guns’), etc. But as allmost allways, neither side’s argument makes sense, and as allways, the argument is shown to be x vs y, democrats vs republicans, red vs blue, etc.

The best answer lies between these two dumbass theorys. Maybe someone should post a video of cenk saying hunters should have to ‘check out’ their own weapons from some kind of government ran armory… thats embarassing.

        1. No, you misunderstand the positions here. It is the industry vs. sanity. On the side of industry are big donors, politicians and retards that watched just a little bit too much Rambo when they were young. On the side of sanity are people of all colors, political alignments and of all levels of “gun competency” who just would like ALL guns off the street, because this is not the fucking Toombstone and you’re not fucking Wyatt Earp. And if it was and you were, I’d want guns out of public then too.

        2. Just because there are two sides does not mean that the truth is magically between the two.

The whole point behind parties & the media is to set the goal posts of what are considered “acceptable” opinions in our society. If you just pick a position that’s halfway between those goal posts, that doesn’t mean it’s any more reasonable.

    2. Who gives a flying fuck whether you would consider it high-power or not. It’s a freeaking semi-auto assault rifle in a kindergarden – that is plenty high-power for the occasion.

    3. The point is the number of rounds , rapid rounds of semi and fully automatic weapons, and the fact the small caliber weapons can be just as if mot more deadly depending on where in the body you shoot someone. They are not gun owners or advocates – don;t know how many times they need to say that. But as one who IS educated, the best way to work toward education is offering the information and references for your information, not making comments to discredit and leaving it at that. It’s like the employee that keeps seeing errors and does nothing but complain about them yet refuses to inform the person making the error and help them correct it. – Just saying ….

  7. You Americans might not be used to the metric system, but half a kilogram of cocaine is definitely not just a little bit. Depending on where you live, that might be worth $50,000.

  8. When Ben is on, I always let the show run through twice, and always enjoy the second run as much as the first. And I’ll play it again on Saturday morning, too.

I keep saying it: More Ben!

  9. Yes, please post a link for the petition. Important part of the show today. Cenk raised the issue how many times throughout both hours. Not blaming you Kimmani, but the link should have been put up on the front page of the website. A link to the You Tube video Cenk referenced concerning this travesty would also be cool. Thanks! :-))

  10. Cenk Ben and John? Fucking awesome.

I have to say, I dig the frequent guest/co-hosting. Everyone brings a little something different to the table, you guys round each other out really well.
