Segment 2
Republicans are finding new ways to try to eliminate ObamaCare. Boehner wants to put it on the cutting board in the debt negotiations. In addition, Republican Governors are trying to kill ObamaCare at the state level. After Mitt Romney lost the election, his former senior advisor Dan Senor went on Morning Joe to talk about how bad the Conservative polling is and how amazed he was that surrogates are bashing him in the media now.

Segment 3
Chris Christie and his popularity, despite his bad policies. A woman took a disrespectful picture next to The Tomb of the Unknown. The picture that she posted on Facebook has caused a nationwide outrage. Steve and Jimmy point out the real target we should have in supporting the military.

  1. Okay – I have just gotten the Live Stream, and Cenk’s first hour ended – so apparently the issue is with the stream and not that the show took an extra day off and didn’t mention it.

Still – if you had a posted schedule that showed vacation days, off days, broadcast days, etc…and was always up to date, it would demystify times like this when the problem is the feed. Thx.

  2. I believe it is 9pm Eastern on a Monday night.

    WHERE IS THE LIVE SHOW?

If you would actually take the simple step of publishing a schedule for your online viewers on this site and making that a tab easily available on the front page, we could check it and know that you took an extra long vacation, or whatever when your broadcasts mysteriously don’t appear.

You need to communicate your schedule in a WRITTEN FORM to your audience, not just announcements at the end or beginning of shows which people might miss. And you have needed to do this for a long time – way before you moved to a new studio/website etc…

Erratic and unannounced absences of your show honestly makes your whole enterprise look sketchy, and it is a problem you’ve had for years. Just do some concrete communication and let your audience know week to week EXACTLY what your schedule is, and have an easily accessible link on your front page to find that schedule. And update it EVERY Friday without fail. Broadcast blackouts should not be surprises.

Thanks for reading this and acting upon it, in advance.

  3. whats up with the live stream on the site? it hasnt worked in several days now, at least on my ipad (with browser that allows flash viewing). i can only watch it on the youtube live stream.

  4. Hi Guys. Is this the only forum for TYT now? I have not tried to post since they changed the website. It seems really trimmed down here.
    Thanks.

  5. This is an embarrassing level of ignorance that you are displaying about the palestinian plight in gaza and in general. You are repeating israeli propaganda, and saying things that are flat out wrong, and you obviously have only a slight, foggy idea about what is actually going on. You guys don’t seem to realize that gaza is a giant open air prison, that israel is constantly attacking them first, and that there is no possibility of a two state solution and if there was, then it would be exactly the same thing that apartheid south africa tried to impose on africans and which was rightly seen as a moral and political abomination and abandoned in favor of equality and democracy. I find it reprehensible how you lecture the victims of this horrible aggression, poke fun at them, chide them and call them stupid, and you recommend that they behave like gandhi, but where are your admonitions that israel, which is always the aggressor, behave like gandhi? How come you don’t tell them to non-violently resist when hamas attacks them (which is always by necessity a retaliation, but let’s just pretend it’s bizarro world and hamas is the aggressor). You guys are ignorant and offensive and should not speak on this issue, unless you get educated and speak to prominent experts on the subject, like ali abunimah, noam chomsky, george galloway, ilan pappe, etc. There are plenty of people who could explain things to you so that you don’t sound like Fox News LITE when you speak about a population of refugees which is in an ethnic open air prison and being bombed, and you make fun of them, call them stupid, and pretend it’s their fault because they aren’t dying nonviolently enough. Disgusting, embarrassing, and totally unacceptable.

  6. Steve Oh and John Ladarola are the best substitute hosts for the first hour, when Michael Shure or Ben Mankiewicz are not available. They are all politically astute and express themselves articulately. TYT offers the best political commentary available in the US, either on or offline.

    1. That’s Iadarola (starts with an I, not an L).

To me the order of preference is Ben Mankiewicz, Wes Clark, Steve Oh, Hermela Aregawi, Brian Unger, John Iadarola, Michael Shure, and Jimmy Dore. I like all of them though.

  7. Steve… you are repeating a media talking point when reporting that Yassar Arafat rejected the best land for peace solution back at the end of the Clinton administration.

What the media has never emphasized is that Israel was willing to return 96% of the land but deny the oldest and most important demand — the right of return by Palestinian refugees.

Israel has spent the last 60-90 years importing Jewish citizens to Palestine from all other the world without restriction. Even before the war for Israeli independence, Palestinians have been driven from their homes and their towns destroyed.

Until Israel allows Palestinian refugees to return to their lands, Israel will continue to dominate and the wrongs perpetuated.

No peace without the right of return.

    1. Coming to the table with demands that there can be no peace unless Israel issues a “right of return” is simply a recipe for continuous war. That ship has sailed long ago. Israel will never do it and even if they did, it’s not unreasonable to assume that the country would quickly become overwhelmed by a growing Muslim population, and a few decades down the road would be voted out of existence in favor of a Muslim theocracy.

So, it looks like we are locked in a stalemate until a serious leader rises from the Palestinian population, and is able to actually convince the population to accept a realistic peace treaty and put and end to the counterproductive rocket attacks and other sorts of violence. Israel is never going to budge, has no incentive to budge since they have the upper-hand militarily and the US is never going to make them budge.

If a solution to ever going to happen,
Palestinians will need to be reasonable in their negotiations and adopt a consistent approach of nonviolent resistance until Israel is pressured to come to the table with a deal that will work for both parties.

      1. No, it’s a recipe to end ethnic cleansing, obey international law, and create real democracy. You cannot deny someone the right to return to their home because you don’t like the color of their skin or their religion or whatever else. How could you possibly not understand that if following international law is such a huge problem, then you have the wrong goals, and the wrong political system. Everything you say could have been said in apartheid south africa, or in the jim crowe south. Maybe they also would have liked to make sure there are no black people around, so obviously they have to drive black people out of their homes, and deny them the right to return, right? And seriously, you call palestinians unreasonable?! What are they asking for, simply the right to live in the country of their birth, to have their homes respected, to be able to vote and be equal to jews and not be discriminated against? And I’m glad to see that you’re such a proponent of nonviolence for all of those who are the victims of massive violence, BRAVO! Obviously you also believe the israelis should be completely non-violent, right? They should disband their military, and if anything bad happens to them, it’s their fault, and they can’t blame anybody who attacks them, they should die quietly and hope that we privileged, moral white people in the west will sit up and take notice and be reasonable with them after they are dead and in the ground, right? That’s your attitude toward palestinians, who are refugees, victims of massive violence, discrimination, and ethnic cleansing.

  8. Yay, Jimmy Dore and the audio guy! Replacement hosts getting better and better. By this rate, I expect Shure tomorrow and Ben on Friday…. And I just realized it’s thanksgiving, and you are probably done for the week, which makes me a sad panda :(

Btw, have you even mentioned why Cenk isn’t hosting?
