That’s been around for years
Just when I thought it was over, more discussion about god damn Presidential elections. MOVE ON! I’m going to curl up in a ball and wait for it to be over.
Read an interesting point today on Huffpost regarding the numbers in the house. Whilst it has been sort of mentioned in passing about gerrymandering in the show, I don’t think enough emphasis has been put on the full effect. Now the media is claiming that it’s a status quo election since the GOP still controls the house and the corporate media is going along with the story, calling it even and reluctant to acknowledge the mandate. Boener and the GOP will claim that their maintenance of control of the house shows that the electorate agrees with their position and they will refuse to budge (leading to Cenks conclusion that inevitably Obama will capitulate and make huge concessions). What hasn’t really been mentioned in any of the media though is that the Democrats actually won the popular vote in the House as well (so it wasn’t a split vote, the Democrat platform for handling the economy was overwhelmingly supported by the electorate) with the Dems winning more than 500,000 more house votes than the GOP. The only reason the GOP control the house still is due to the redistricting and gerrymandering. Surely the Democrats (and primarily Obama) should be using this fact as further leverage against the GOP and force them to capitulate or take it to the mid terms where they will get decimated.
Cenk is so right, Obama will sell us out with the Grand Bargain. The best deal he’ll get is more like 5 dollars of spending cuts to one of tax increases. He is a horrible negotiator. Look at his recent deals with Republicons. Spending cuts only happen when the Democrats are in charge because the Republicans know government spending/deficit spending supports our economy. They only whine when they won’t get credit for the deficit enhanced economy. Bush had massive deficit spending with an economy that averaged under 3 percent GDP GROWTH. Without that 450 billion per year dollars of on budget spending that Republicons didn’t say a word about. They also carried 2 wars off budget with emergency spending bills, so Bush’s budget didn’t look as irresponsible as it was. Bernie Sanders/Russ Feingold for President!
Completely disagree.
It’s Russ Feingold / Bernie Sanders 2016!
Buffering like crazy. WTF?
Can’t you make this stop?
