So children that had costumes purchased for them and waled around getting FREE candy is the argument for why adults doing well, regardless of war, country going through hard times, people dying in a storm, whatever, everybody needs to keep their greedy freeloading hands off your hard earned cash? You are wrong about pride murders. It is caused by tribal traditions not religion. DON’T GET WRONG, as Ana would say, Religion is responsible of many bad things but not this one.

And what inspired those tribal traditions? Superstition, beliefs in a supernatural force, etc…ie, religion. A more primitive form of religion, but religion nonetheless.
I’d say it’s probably a mixture and hard to tell where one stops and the other begins. But otherwise, I take mmogib’s point.
I would advise that the TYT crew should read David Rolfe Graeber “Debt: The First Five Thousand Years”, he is assistant professor of anthropology at Yale University. His research says Its actually a combination of both, the church (religion) and commodification of humans, that ones wife belong to her father; then her husband, children are yours to do as you wish.
