Florida City Commissioner is being forced to step down b/c she began a love affair with her 1st cousin, where she sent him naked pics.

  5. People are super harsh on Anna, I enjoy the second hour almost as much as the first hour. I don’t know about the rest of you, but my political podcast / tv / radio intake is several hours a day, so having some alternative stories and some fun ridiculousness I enjoy.

    Just in case I did hear that correctly:

    Laffer, who worked for Reagan, developed his “curve” to justify trickle-down (some call it “supply side”) economics. No modern economist who wants to be taken seriously mentions his name. Respect in the economic community is not something he can be said to have.

    He’s a fucking joke who would be funny if he hadn’t done so much damage to our country.

    Cenk Uygur is the most charismatic & interesting character there!

    Everybody steals Cenk’s euphemisms, & his one-liners. Without Cenk that place would be in a rut…. FACT!

    Oh & Steve’s great on the production end, but Cenk is the leading mouth piece.

    1. Cenk uses Ana’s sayings and mannerisms too. That’s not much of an argument. And I don’t know if you noticed but both hours are of the same show. Cenk loves the second hour and I’m sure Ana is trying to make the second hour more serious than Cenk wants it to be. In any case, they’re not rivals; it’s the same show. Don’t know why people feel the need to compare and pick a favorite all the time.

  9. Nooo! Steve-oh! I get the medical mj point you’re trying to make with the homebrew analogy, but it’s couldn’t be more inaccurate!

    Brewing beer at home is unbelievably better than all commercial brews and many microbrews. In fact, microbrews originate from homebrewers – that’s what makes them so good since they are small scale. I won’t get into all the detail here, but take it from an avid homebrewer: with a little bit of experience, anyone can brew a kick-ass beer that is not commercially available and tastes better than anything you’ve ever had. Homebrewing (home-made-beer) is the best!

  11. Drones. I think Steve’s comparison about Drones over the US is not a good example. The US is not in a state of unrest. I believe that having drones fly over the US regularly would be stressing – BUT in places where Taliban / Al Qaida are cutting the heads off of young people for going to a party or stoning a woman because she was raped and now shames her family – I think hearing a drone drop a bomb might bring comfort to those people.

For all the people that dont know what is going on maybe you should watch the 2nd hour in there they explained that Cenk wont be in the studio today he is going to New York i think to do something ( dont remember what). Is it that hard to believe that they had problems with the upload from (new York) to CA? You guys need to calm down they have been putting up the videos very quick lately give them a break they obviously had an issue.

    1. Most people here are objecting to lack of info first, fuckup second. No one in the second hour said “and that’s why you will wait for the first hour X hours”. Anything on this website up until now is just cojecture, including your post. Now I don’t mind waiting because Cenk is becoming a bit more bothersome with the Rombama horse race, but other people don’t want to guess and I understand that.

      Also, if they type coherrently, I think you can safely assume they are calm enough.

    1. Frankly, I don’t mind the n00b support and I would live with infinite fuckups on DemocracyNow.org (which never happen btw), but I am beginning to agree about the second hour and the rest of the nonsense.

      TYT is fundamentally not my channel because of the capitalist model. They can’t avoid bullshit, because that’s what brings in the crowd and frankly Cenk’s beliefs are firmly in the statist/corporate model. It is actually the best way to get to average people, but I don’t have to like it, so I think I will wash the dirt off of me by upping my donations to DN to maybe 10 times that I give to TYT; they certainly deserve it.

        1. I like Ana, and just about everybody, gives the whole operation some added flavor, but I don’t see why they can’t just throw up a “sorry, we’re working on it” notice, seems like the least they could do.

            1. Amen on Anna’s rants. Acutually, most of the time she and the rest of the gang spend their time “yeah you are right boss”, when Cenk says what he thinks about something where it doesn’t agree with what they said. That drives me nuts!

      2. You are right about Cenk’s beliefs. He is very Conservative on many issues, and this Law and Order stuff he spouts, and “wanting justice”, turns me off.

  16. Look I’m not one to come over the website and start complaining the minute the videos are supposed to be up and they’re not. I usually wait a couple of hours. But this…

    Can someone please just post a comment assuring us that TYT is even aware of the situation? TYT used to be much more responsive and now you have more employees so I don’t understand why no one addresses these problems after, what, 6 hours?

    And I’m not going to be dramatic about this and threaten with ending my membership because I don’t think TYT’s main motive is profit like any other corporation. So there’s no point to that. But being a paid member was the *first* thing I did when I got my first credit card. I’d just like to know when shit happens, people are working on it.

    And this is your main revenue source. Please hire someone to do this properly–full time. Uploading, checking, fixing, whatever. You need dedicated personnel.

    1. Kimani addressed the issue last night on Twitter.
      The first hour and the Post Game will be up at around 9am (I’m assuming pacific time) There was an error with them the first time around, and they had to remove them. It was around midnight pacific time when this happened, so I imagine Kimani needed to get some sleep, if he was planning on getting back into work in the morning in order to have them up again around 9 today. (no idea how long it take to upload them, and have them ready to go, but you get the idea. Doesn’t leave time for much sleep.)
      (And that’s all speculation [re: needing sleep] but it’s what I would do)

      Anyway. Point is Kimani did address the issue. It will be fixed as soon as possible.

      On a side note, becoming a member was the first thing I did when I got my first credit card too!

      1. maybe Kimani needs to address the issue on the website where the problem exists. seem like common sense to me. not all of us follow Kimani on twitter. I don’t want to have to subscribe to 10 different networks/social media/twitter accounts only to find out what the hell happened on one site. address the issue on the damn site! I don’t want to go on a damn scavenger hunt to wlknow why the media I’m paying for is not up an running as it should. extremely unprofessional!

        1. Totally agree. TYT has moved to silent running now on their web page. I have no idea where they post info anymore but it doesn’t seem to be on their web site.

        Also this is the problem with the new schedule; if something goes wrong, it’s too late after a couple of hours so we have to wait for half a day. That’s why I said some dedicated personnel is needed for this. Maybe someone who would work night shifts only or something.

      1. Their Current gig started yesterday. They’ve been around for ten years. While Youtube does help a lot, without members they wouldn’t be here, or more importantly, independent. Only membership fees can keep them independent, not ads

While it may appeal to Ana, this argument is fundamentally flawed in that it let’s perpetrators of drone strikes off the hook on a much more serious charge than just fucking up a trial and sending innocents to death. Drone strikes are much worse than the death penalty: no trial, no jury and most of the time people pulling the trigger don’t even speak the language of the little smudge on the TV screen they just murdered.

      Death penalty is extremely bad policy, but drone strikes are terrorist actions. You can argue that death penalty has its own political goals and I would agree with you most of the way, but with drone strikes we’re talking about plunging entire populations into a state of paralysis, where you do not know if your kid will be blown up on the way to school today because some hillbilly thought that you are driving suspiciously, or if the two weddings and a funeral you are about to attend will be turned into mass burials by hellfire missiles.

    Civilians do not sign up for war, Steve. They just get killed in so horrible ways that hearing about them breaks down human psyche. Your lack of experience with being a civilian in a war makes you take arguments like “what if we could be 100% sure…” seriously. It’s total bullshit, of course.

    Part of the point of any war, to put it in polite terms, is a psychological pressure on the population to behave a certain way. If the US govt. could target only the “bad guys” (often heroes in the eyes of the locals, so the “100% certainty” is utter bullshit just on that count), the US govt. would not be fulfilling it’s quota of psychological pressure on the population and would choose a more invasive method. Just check out the history of the Convention on Cluster Munitions and the US position on it.

    Terrorism, my friend, like any other weapon, is primarily the weapon of the strong. Because they can afford more of it and have the power set the labels, effectively avoiding the ‘terrorist’ label themselves. Wake the fuck up.

      1. I am not being a dick. I just went from amusement at Ana’s ignorance about what drones are all about to amasement at John’s and Steve’s reactions to it. At the end of the discussion I was dismayed by the of-course-I-would-go-and-kill-someone-in-a-foreign-sovereign-country-because-I-decided-he’s-a-bad-guy attitude across the pannel. That shit is no more ok than the Mexican govt. flying regular drone strikes on the homes of suspected minute-men, or trying to take out Joe Arpaio because they think he’s a bad guy.
