Ana, John Iadarola, and Steve Oh hosting today. Ana thinks that the debates are irrelevant at this point, since Obama has more than enough of the 270 electoral votes to win. Steve thinks the debate will be boring. Videos of Hannity and Tucker Carlson showing a clip of Obama from 2007 with the most racially tinged remarks, ever! Video of Obama criticizing the government’s financial response to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Republicans have jumped on Biden’s latest gaffe in saying that the Middle Class has been buried in the last 4 years. Talk about the possibility of Obama doing right by the middle class with tax cuts and forcing the super rich pay their share.

Reason TV responded to Samuel Jackson’s Wake the Fuck up. NumbersUSA ad that pits Black Americans against immigrants for jobs.

Segment 3
The new police chief in Saudi Arabia is making some changes to the ways the police enforce ridiculous laws.

  2. Another excellent example of this false-equivalence lie the media tries to push. Multiple desperate attempts at trying to find a video that can match Romney’s 47% debacle. Why do reporters ask “hey, GOP… IS THIS THE VIDEO YOU NEED?” Grow a backbone, do the research. They need to stop asking the GOP what is important and start being journalists.

  3. Current TV is a massively statist channel. How the hell did they get to call themselves progressive??

    It kindof seems to me that the progressive label is being highjacked by ex-conservatives and “centist” (read corporate) pundits that are tenderly guiding us into the hands of the corporatist Dems by attempting to scare us with the alternative. Even Cenk is becoming increasingly corporatised. Although I have never really counted him as a progressive to begin with, I did consider him to be honest. I am not sure whether I am wrong, Cenk is not as honest as I would like, or just not as intelligent.

    It is a strange narrative this one, that the President is an underdog all of a sudden and he should have all of our’s backing. Meanwhile good luck to Bradley Manning and the drone victims tonight.

    The first hour on TYT today is beginning to look good compared to this political game of paddy-cakes.

  6. Remember back in 2008 when Cenk would do his show before, during and after the debates? If your cable provider does not have Current in their lineup then sucks to be you…..

    1. Couldn’t agree more–I can’t get Current (that I know him) here in Vancouver, Canada. Knowing that there’s some great stuff happening on Current that I can’t get to–it totally blows.

  7. The federal govt CANNOT run a perpetual surplus (in dollars), it’d suck all the money out of the economy. Clinton’s surplus was only possible because the private sector, as a whole, was spending more that it was earning by taking on credit. To earn a dollar, someone else must spend a dollar. For every agent in the economy that is running a surplus, there must be an equivalent deficit somewhere else in the system. If the private sector wants to earn more than it spends, which it currently is trying to do, then the federal govt needs to run an equal deficit.

  12. It really, really, really, shouldn’t be a big deal to check links work. I provide media to webmasters as part of my job and every single link is manually clicked and previewed to ensure it works. Is it a minor pain in the ass given things work 95% of the time anyways? Sure. But am I an amateur running things out of my basement or a professional?
    There really isn’t any excuse in a professional environment to publish a link to a file that doesn’t work. It might sound like the sort of thing that can happen from time to time. But really, it should NEVER, EVER happen. test, test, test. Basic QA.
    Even setting up a basic script that automatically checks to see if the file is present would be an easy win. Then layer a secondary manual check over the top to ensure the video is playing correctly, ie has been encoded properly and hasn’t corrupted on upload.

  16. Okay , this does not come free but for a standard membership for my mother I am will ing to spend the time to fix this issue pemantly. Please email me and then we can arange the fix. so that the shows are automatically uploaded verified and posted to the feed and word press as well as notification of errors or succes if desired. I will even throw in a video feed option as well. it is really not that hard but i will need information on your work flow and the script will need to be run on a regular basis, I can work that out as well one I know your infrastructue, maac,pc, other.

    THIS REALLY SUCKS, UNABLE TO DOWNLOAD TOO OFTEN, AND I’M ON THE VERGE OF YANKING MY MEMBERSHIP. THE HIGHEST COST MEMBERSHIP OF ANY PROGRESSIVE PODCAST AND THE LEAST DEPENDABLE. Paul Krugman and folks at MotherJones and Crooks and Liars as well as former reagan budget director david stockman and many others have all thoroughly debunked reaganite arthur laffer’s laughable curve….supply-side, trickle-down, voodoo economics. At least use the google if you’re going to listen to the shady smirkonish. Holy crap, i cannot even believe she brought it up…and the other two just sat there like goofballs. wth?
